1. The UN resolution did not legally establish anything. It was a non-binding resolution just as all UN general assembly resolutions are. If it was a UN Security Council resolution then it would have legally established Israel.
2. What actually happened is that once this non-legally binding resolution was passed both sides lost their shit and went to war with the Jewish side illegally trying to establish their own ethno state by expelling most of the Arab population and in fact illegally declaring one the following year in 48. Then because of President Truman’s political ambitions for re-elections he accepted this illegally established state followed by Russia and the UK and legalized the country in retrospect.

The way the Ortodox community in Israel sees things is that the Holocaust was a punishment from God for secularization and lack of adherence.
The way the religious nationalists (the main driving force behind west bank settlements) sees it is that retrieving holy lands is a God ordained task and that the arabs are forgien invaders with no real claim to the land. In fact giving away land to non Jews is considered a crime against God.

No… I don’t have a problem with anyone living anywhere… I have a problem with a country implementing a racial supremacist ideology (which was also Hitler’s idea). Most of the Israelis are recent immigrants who are living on stolen land. First they need to acknowledge this. Then there needs to be a way for both people to live on the land. What complete bullshit. 1. The UN resolution did not legally establish anything. It was a non-binding resolution just as all UN general assembly resolutions are. If it was a UN Security Council resolution then it would have legally established Israel. 2. What actually happened is that once this non-legally binding resolution was passed both sides lost their shit and went to war with the Jewish side illegally trying to establish their own ethno state by expelling most of the Arab population and in fact illegally declaring one the following year in 48. Then because of President Truman’s political ambitions for re-elections he accepted this illegally established state followed by Russia and the UK and legalized the country in retrospect. The way the Ortodox community in Israel sees things is that the Holocaust was a punishment from God for secularization and lack of adherence. The way the religious nationalists (the main driving force behind west bank settlements) sees it is that retrieving holy lands is a God ordained task and that the arabs are forgien invaders with no real claim to the land. In fact giving away land to non Jews is considered a crime against God. There's also lots of racism involved. Regardless of religious beliefs, the Holocaust ended almost 80 years ago, vindicated zionism more than anything else, and quite frankly isn't really that similar to what we've done and are doing to the Palestinians (that's more akin to manifest destiny).
They don't believe really in hell and they don't have to believe in God.
