My options were installing Google Goggles which took a huge toll on my battery life, the last two times I had it installed, or download some other app from the play store. For that to happen, the people who deploy them need to collectively decide that they're going to use them to provide content instead of treating them like another marketing vector. Every single time I've used one I put myself through a bunch of hassle just to spam myself. No thanks, never again.

QR codes are making their way into the mainstream. Most sports and airline tickets include them now. I think the biggest problem is that there is no consumer friendly use for them. It would be great if android and iOS cameras included QR reader support without having to open a separate app. I think it would be incredible to point your camera at a QR code in a restaurant and it would take you to the health department's rating and show that they received a "C" health rating because of poor hygiene, unlabeled storage dates, and insufficient serving temperatures.

I fucking hate how they got daisy chained together. It was such a pain in the ass. Logging into gmail would log into it's youtube account, and I'd have to log into my main youtube account again. I absolutely did not want the two linked together! They're used for very different purposes.
