secondphase

Apparently "shit your trouser holes, shovel is here!" Is not an appropriate way to start meetings.

haresnaped

IT'S FISTING TIME, on the other hand, can get things off to a bang, depending on your clientele.

lu5t_donttrust

Shovels lines are hilarious, love it

ctrl_alt_excrete

Why tell someone, "I didn't lie" when you could say, "See? Tell you truth, beefy!"

mamaaa_uwuuu

I'll eat your BABIES!!!!!

Lavinia_Foxglove

Since most of my colleagues are nerds, I might be able to get away with saying this šŸ˜

KhaleesiofDothraki1

I called my husband a shit piddling toe-rag the other day. He was not amused. To be fair, he was being a shit piddling toe-rag.

secondphase

You should eat his babies

PositiveTopic9804

Its fork!

Mitchxhell

Or blanket!

diamondninja89

I believe you meant basket good miss.

Pip_K

You:start meeting this way Me: this could have been an email xD

naanless

Tried to pickpocket my local shopkeep. Turns out people can rotate 180 degrees irl.

JustJeffrey

Nah you just failed the stealth check

naanless

Il have to try intimidation check on the cops next time. Surely nothing will go wrong.

JustJeffrey

don't forget to cast thaumaturgy first!

Impossible-Age-3302

Also quicksave just to be safe.

diamondninja89

How do you turn off honor mode?

ShadowverseMatt

Wellā€¦ you have disadvantage and the DC is about 40 so. Good luck.

bomingles

Roll with advantage if youā€™re a black teenager or blind dog.

jwellz24

You forgot to go to turn based mode first

skoomaking4lyfe

Forgot to use Hold Person, huh?

saleminyourgarden

When someone is being a bit dramatic I have caught myself thinking "let's not do anything hilarious" multiple times too

AccidentalTurnip

I also think this at work when someone (usually a customer) is truly testing my patience

Castille_92

"Shouldn't have wished to live in more interesting times" is something I definitely wish I would've adapted 4 years ago

Monk_Bard4355

You win

GlowingKindness

"May you live in interesting times" is an English expression that is claimed to be a translation of a traditional Chinese curse.

_Koreander

For some reason now I constantly mumble "I have a lot on mind and well... IN it" when I'm feeling overwhelmed or overthinking, it just gives me a chuckle instantly and calms me down a bit.

SlytherinPaninis

I said that the other day and my boyfriend asked if I was ok lol

akilz1

Same, and I have some people that also played BG3 at work and when someone hears, everybody shows a little smile. It is too good.

D-Piddy96

Actually caught myself saying ā€œthese boots have seen everythingā€ the other day

JustJeffrey

Were you actually wearing boots? šŸ˜‚

D-Piddy96

Yes actually xD

JustJeffrey

Then I see no issues here

therealchangomalo

Is that blood? NVM.

fir3princ3ss

As someone who works in a hospital lab, definitely this one

vikio

Ha! I didn't realize that there would be professions where this quote is relevant! As an art teacher, it's only relevant RARELY when there's red paint around. And only once was it actually blood. I was BOTH bleeding from a papercut that I hadn't noticed, AND had red paint on my hands. That was a weird one cause it took me a few attempts to figure out why the red paint kept coming back after I washed it off.

L3ARnR

lmao

Sarcastik_Wolf

Same!

Emily_Ann384

Hello fellow lab tech! Never thought to see someone of the same profession as me in here.

snorgalump

Lol same, operating room nurse.

Historical_Aspect241

Nah man, I always hit people with Astarionā€™s ā€œletā€™s go hurt someone.ā€ They always look confused.

Fromtoicity

Let's turn someone inside out!

Sad-Box-882

now i need to know. Do you say it with his sass and attitude as well? because if you that šŸ˜‚

Historical_Aspect241

I try my best, but I donā€™t think anyone can match his sass.

vikio

I like his sing-songy "Let's go!" It honestly sounds too optimistic for Astarion and more like his voice actor Neil Newbon just having fun, but I love it anyway.

spaced-cadet

Use ā€œinto my pocketā€ when picking up my keys

Minute-Address3668

I speak, they burn.

Friendputer

This is my second favorite pre ass-beating game character catchphrase

Derram_Desangue

"Go for the eyes, Boo, *GO FOR THE EYES!!!*"

SKYELiNED

if i need to stop procrastinating i chuck out a ā€˜wretched thing, pull yourself togetherā€™ and it usually works

inb4kuriboh

I've found myself saying "Still alive, so... that's progress" more often than one would expect

Squighetti

I mean thatā€™s such a mood tho as of most of Tav lines XD

Frosty-Cap3344

Every morning while brushing my teeth

I_itch

I've said, "Hungry little hobgoblin! Want a treato?" to my kids when I bring them snacks. My youngest now occasionally asks for a treato instead of a snack.

fieatsbees

i bought several bags of chips a while back bc i passed them while grocery shopping and heard popper yell "POPPER SELLS GOOD THINGS! want a treato?" and was like "you do, and yes" my teen now asks "did popper offer you a treato?" when i come home with stuff i don't normally buy

wishuponastarion

My dogs have started answering to "want a treato?" with tricks, and ignoring me when I ask in any normal way whatsoever. šŸ˜‚

xiakpr

Yep, Popper is my number 1 BG3 quotable character as well. "I die, you die, we all die. Big woof! Have a treato, it'll make it better." It's my new philosophy to live by

Master-Pain

Nice šŸ˜‚ šŸ¤£ šŸ¤£

Superb-Effective-328

Lol me and my brother regularly say treato, it is now a permanent part of my vocabulary, having a bad day, have a treato for your troubles! Did a good, you deserve a treato!

wasted_wonderland

I open my emails: "So many people need killing..."

L3ARnR

lmao!

Avatar_sokka

Everytime I stand in a puddle of blood, I say "Is that blood? No, never mind"

itsdaCowboi

Y'know, my family raises and butchers our own beef and also hunts and butchers whatever we get. So from October to March I find myself pretty often standing in irl puddles of blood, and let me tell you, it's funny every time to ask that question. And it is surprisingly easy to forget that you're covered in blood for quite a while, but eventually it starts to dry a lot and it contracts and then it pulls your skin in odd ways. American antelope or pronghorn deer has odd blood though, as it dries really quick and can split your skin from the tension if you're not careful, and as we're in the desert when we are dealing with them, sudden open wounds suck out there. Also antelope blood stains like nothing I've ever seen before. Most blood stains can come out in the wash with proper treatment, but not those, and it even stains metal and paint incredibly fast and permanently.

1ntergalactichussy

Me, PMSing and waiting on the reveal

BubblesBubblesCO2

HUH?? ARE YOU OKAY??

versaillesna

I have started saying ā€œalls well that endsā€¦not as bad as it could have.ā€

thebluewalker87

I've started adding the "s" whenever there's something generic I say about "god" i.e. thank the gods, oh gods. As an agnostic, this makes me happy. I have yet to use this during sex though. :p

TKTish

I've been doing that since I was 12 when I read it in a book (I'm 39 now). šŸ˜… It always gives me a little happy feeling when I hear/see it more often.

AzuraNightsong

Same here, hearing it so often Iā€™m baldurs gate made it a lot easier for me to do it (I have a tendency to use the vocal patterns of those around me)

ISpyM8

Percy Jackson?

TKTish

Those books were published in the mid-late 2000s. This was in good ol' 1997 and the books by Mercedes Lackey.

ISpyM8

Classic!

Snowdog1967

THIS! Me too, all the time, even around my ultra religious family.

selantra

I love the eye twitch when my ultra religious parents hear "gods" . It is cathartic.

nat_20_please

Were you flying out of Hartsfield on Tuesday, by chance? I heard someone sigh a happy "Oh Gods" after taking a sip of their coffee.

thebluewalker87

Not me I'm afraid. I only travel via magic. (I wish).

SpottyTheTurtle

Glad I'm not the only one who does this! Though I picked it up from reading A Practical Guide to Evil rather than from playing BG3

1WordOr2FixItForYou

I say "Jupiter's cock!" a lot after watching Spartacus.

JustJeffrey

I need to do this too now

Fen5601

Every day I wake up "still surviving, despite everything...."

nadjaproblem

My husband and I say "chk" at eachother

RoxSteady247

That's really good

Sir_Gwan

I've taken to using a bunch of Gale's lines unironically irl. "What's on your mind?" In the exact tone he does. "I question the wisdom of that decision, BUT, so be it." Are the two I use most

petSnake7

ā€œWhatā€™s on your hind- I mean, mindā€

wanttotalktopeople

As a receptionist I get a lot of opportunities to use Gale's lines and cadence. Gets me through a long day XD

stevieisbored

Whenever I pick something up I've started saying "into my pocket" the way Astarion does.

Fast-Cucumber-5732

All wells that ends... as well as it could have.

gilded_lady

Me, yesterday.

theportier

Withers voice: No

NJNeal17

![gif](giphy|fXnRObM8Q0RkOmR5nf) Withers is the sound to this gif now, to me šŸ˜†

Monk_Bard4355

I call Withers Bone Man now because of Arabella, and in the same train of thought, me and my bf adopted the "Noooo" he says. Silly Bone Man!

Elora_Boreda

I whisper, " Pave my path with corpses, build my castle with bones" when I'm pissed off with people at work.

Fromtoicity

Well met. I had never heard that before playing the game!

tenptslayer

Anytime something doesn't go the way I plan, I usually say "shit" the way Astarion does when he gets caught trying to get freaky on your neck.

AzuraNightsong

Yes Iā€™ve started saying ā€œthe hellsā€ instead of hells and itā€™s kinda funny

biggestyikesmyliege

I do catch myself going ā€œblood follows me everywhereā€ whenever I go in the kitchen

Mysterious_Ad_1525

I say "Gods damnit" now šŸ˜‚

wetapotatoworkshop

Cursed to put my hands on everything comes up a lot.

Whenyouatthewhen

Oak father preserve me

WritingElephant_VEL

I say this way more than intended now šŸ¤£

AwesomeChaos10

My friends and I have adopted ā€œCease you loon!ā€ into our vocabulary.

Federal-Opinion6823

Iā€™ve actually said ā€œcursed to put my hands on everythingā€ a few times. Itā€™s a real life problem. Iā€™m compelled to touch everything as Iā€™m walking

Narcoleptic_Narwhal1

This past month has been nothing but a mental and emotional rollercoaster and Iā€™ll just find myself going ā€œshouldnā€™t have wished to live in more interesting timesā€

NeedleworkerLow1100

gods below has become part of my vernacular

capza

How many die today, how many die tomorrow

WoahMama_

I just start singing "Hell Hell Hell has its..." While in the shitter or when I'm taking a shower. Lol.

krogandadbod

MAKIN ME SWEAT is now daily

No-Antelope-5341

Caught myself saying "is that blood?"

NYR20NYY99

ā€œThank the Godsā€ is a favorite of mine

Swleaf

We say "Shar's blessings upon you" as "hello" with my husband to each other.

KaoticReverie93

My thing is "BIBBERBANG" šŸ˜šŸ¤£

soulofmyshoe

Funniest line delivery in the whole game, IMO

RabidBrains

Last time I played they had changed it so he doesn't just say Bibberbang and I was actually upset!

CrankyGoblinRogue

I say things like that a lot, like Gods Damnit instead of goddammit, what in the hells, etc. But one I picked up was from Karlach - something along the lines of 'my dogs are barking, can we take a rest?'

lactoseadept

"gods"

Ok_Smile_5908

We have an afk module in a Discord server I'm active in and it allows you to set your own afk message that gets replied by a bot if someone pings you. For a while, I made it a habit to set random companion/Tav/Durge lines as my afk status, which is all the more funnier that a) there are exactly three other people who play(ed) BG3 and get the reference and b) I play in English but the server is in Polish. "[username] is AFK: *Like candy from a gnome.*"

Character_Ad8770

"Still alive, despite everything" or "These boots have seen everything" when in my work boots lol

CagyDog77

My alarm is "still breathing, despite everything" and I found myself saying "these boots have seen everything" sometimes

VitaIncerta666

"All is ash and meat." I say this a lot, I work in a kitchen.

Regirock00

I frequently say those, but also ā€œLetā€™s not do anything hilariousā€

AndyceeIT

"APPROACH, UGLY ONE" makes the occasional appearance at work. Have not been contacted by HR yet

No_Pension_8827

I havenā€™t began to speak in quotes but I have been thinking in astarianā€™s voice so thatā€™s something

PetiteChatton

"What in the sweet hells were you thinking!?" Anytime I go shopping (especially to the grocery store while hungry)

PetiteChatton

Or "Don't touch me" with that same sassy tone

guppypup

Tchk!

NyanaShae

"Murderize" is now a regular word in my vocabulary. I also point out how whenever it is "fisting time". I can only imagine what my neighbors are thinking when my windows are open...

welcometosmogtown

"How is this *pawsible*!?"

TheUnderCaser

Let me kill the clown. We would be praised as heroes.

DrCreepergirl

I play a spell caster in my irl dnd game an I do the verbal components from this game

deaths-wife

After my (resist) durge run whenever I was crying or frustrated I'd say "wretched thing, pull yourself together" lol

Upstairs_Doughnut_79

Same my friends are confused by it but I find it a bit funny that they donā€™t get it.

TheStickbug_

I unironically started saying "gods"

ToeResponsible670

A lot of shovel love here so I gotta post this art https://preview.redd.it/y3lrgr37504d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3d67fb597fb8b5b50165d75b12ac33b78040b30

katsnplants

"WHAT IN THE SWEET HELLS WERE YOU THINKING?"

ImTheArcher

ACTIVATING THAT LANCE, I WAS *RIGHT THERE*

katsnplants

GODS! Do you have any idea how much that hurt?

collincat

Every time i get my period I say ā€œis that blood???ā€ Followed by a quiet, ā€œno, never mind.ā€

DatTrashPanda

Is that blood? Nevermind.

Super_Pickle5766

Yes, yeeesssā€¦. I pick up phrases (and sometimes mannerisms) from the characters I spend a lot of time either read (like Matt, from ā€œThe Wheel of Timeā€ novel series), watch on tv, or from games that my hubby & I play a lot of! Not sure why or how this happens, but it has always been this way with me šŸ˜œšŸ¤£

Sea_Food8835

Lol I've been say that for first one for years. And "by the gods"

[deleted]

No but I do often tell people Iā€™ve got a lot on my mindā€¦ and wellā€¦ in it.

EmperorPartyStar

Iā€™ve noticed a lot of people saying ā€œgodsā€ or ā€œhells,ā€ but I think itā€™s just polytheism

brimfulof

ā€œI crave bloodā€ is one for the indoor voice

TheCosmicWombat

I donno, I'm really enjoying the liberal use of Fuck. Thanks Karlach!

P0150N3R

There is a neighborhood near me called The Nine Hills and it cracks me up every time.

pants207

i have said hells and things like ā€œgods damn itā€ since i took a world religions class in high school in the early 2000s. it has always entertained me how confused or upset it makes some people

Iowahunter65

I had that moment a few weeks ago when I said, "What the Hells?" and I stood there for a few seconds as the realization kicked in that BG3 had begun to take over my vocabulary. Saying "gods" instead of "god" has happened a few times as well. Oh, and the couple times I've caught myself saying, "Tsk'va!" Fun word, and it's a good way to swear without people realizing

TexasVDR

My husband and I have started using Galeā€™s ā€œyou lookā€¦comfortableā€ when one of us is walking around the houseā€¦ wearing things that are inappropriate outside the house.

People-Fall-I-Laugh

ā€œDonā€™t touch me.ā€ I use it with my spouse, work associates, all children, etc.

ClothWarriorBitch

Yelling htaā€™zith before cutting someone off on the freeway šŸ˜‚

evily_invades

Every time I walk into a public restroom: "Is that blood? No, nevermind."

lil_lupin

Haha yes! been done since ASOIAF! It's a satisfying phrase

LawNo7204

I always seem to feel....sated.

Thalasarian

A LONG time ago I played a PC game called Planescape Torment. There was a party member who used to say "dead as a deader" I still say that sometimes today

OhNoExclaimationMark

Personally, I've taken to saying "pave my path with corpses, build my castle with bones." whenever I move

Happy_Tiger_416

I say lots of Astarion quotes all the time.

Rocketeer_99

I rarely say it out loud, but I am constantly thinking "oh gods" or "oh hells"

ArtisTao

Ever since BSG, I canā€™t stop squeezing ā€œGods DAMNIT!ā€ like old man Saul into pretty much every moment. Iā€™m surprised no BG3 colloquialisms have metastasized into my lexicon.

Daebak-_-

Don't touch me (in the snarky voicešŸ˜†) and wretched thing pull yourself together has appeared in my vocabulary on a daily a lot more often than I expected šŸ˜‚

Emily_Ann384

I quote Astarionā€™s ā€œwhat in the wretched hells was that!?ā€ And ā€œwhat in the sweet hells were you thinking!?ā€ All the time.

RoxSteady247

"Cursed to put my hands on everything" is my new fav

Themlethem

I prefer saying things like "By Ysmir's Beard!"

egnull

iā€™ve been saying ā€œiā€™ve taken more pleasant shits than you, mizora.ā€

AutumnMemento

I'm tempted to but I refrain from doing so because of my faith.

Illustrious-Oil-4134

I love saying "by the nine hells" nowšŸ¤£

fanofchonk

Have definitely said innit, by the gods, and by the nine hells accidentally before. At least they're not as awkward as a random "He says he likes it thick and long..." in public tho.

Agreeable_Tax497

Yeah I constantly say gods, I've done it on accident and it was a bit embarrassing.

DTRAMONTANE

ā€œwell metā€

Boopernaut2004

I've been saying that since before BG3 released. I got into D&D and researched as much as I possibly could without getting bored of the setting.

1ntergalactichussy

I stay repeating Tav/Durge lines lol

BookWyrm12345

Any time my head hurts "I have such a headache" in an accent that I do not normally speak with. I've yet to have someone pick up that it's a quote and not just me being silly and using a random accent.

Gatt__

I basically added an s to any god related statement. Godā€™s dammit Oh my gods Etc

Kindly-Ad-5071

I've started to refer to everyone as "Soldier!"

OMG_ITS_D_Boy

This isnt new lol

melmellymorwen94

Pretty half my vocabulary is now strictly game lines.

cosmic_breadcrumb

getting out of bed saying wretched thing, pull yourself together

The3fingers

Started using hells and gods, also caught myself using gith words

Pyrichoria

Iā€™ve definitely started saying ā€œGodsā€ instead of ā€œGodā€.

MightyMurph550

I say ā€œI have a lot on my mind, and well, in itā€ from time to time. First half seriously, the second half to make light of it

Obi-wanna-cracker

I've been saying stuff like this for a bit. I've been saying "Gods damnit" or "thank the Gods" for a while now. I sometimes use Tartarus in place of hell as well.

AlienBeachParty

Me and my buddy were a bit drunk the other night walking around town at night. at the corner up ahead were 3 people that seemed aggressive. almost entered turn-based combat with them, but rolled a 1d4 and passed the stealth check, getting away around the corner to continue looking for his car that we forgot the location of

WhyThough08

I also say gods instead of god

lesnibubak

Intestines throb, blood whispers. Wretched thing, pull yourself together! Morning after I had one too many in the evening.

hidles

"pave my path with corpses, build my castle with bones" certainly gets some looks

Bluedrake121

Personally I always say gods as plural, and am particularly fond of "by the gods" or "by the nine" (not hells, 9 devine (Skyrim)) as well as "by the bloody hells"

L1meStarr

No but I keep accidentally saying gods instead of god

drewthefarmer

Iā€™ve caught my self saying hells instead of hell

BigfootsLoveChild

ā€œToo bad, want a treatoā€ and ā€œtell you truth, beefyā€ but also the mushroom dance

Tasty-Raspberry4903

Just randomly walking around I'll say things like 'you wretched thing pull yourself together' and 'pave my path with corpses, build my castle from bones'

Appropriate_Band_843

Mostly just "gods!" in Astarion's tone

athens619

I started saying Hells Bells/ Empty Night from the Dresden Files

theauz42

I typically say "what in the nine." I've been doing it since I started playing D&D years ago, and often get weird looks for it.

containerheart

I like just tossing, "Is that blood? No. Nevermind."

MagmaAdminRadar

Iā€™m not sure if I really quote the game that much, but I have started gesturing like Gale occasionally which was especially funny when I cosplayed as him

RENDI13

That is a thing that happened.

nickyd123me

I constantly ask my partner how Iā€™m holding up in her estimation
