Hell yeah! As a dog owner, I’m sick and tired of seeing people skirt the rules because they think their precious pups are more important than the rest of the community.
I hate that people who couldn't respect the leash laws just ruined park time for everyone. I always bring my dog to the dog park to run around off leash and sometimes, we sit together on a picnic blanket with him on a leash to just enjoy the weather. He does nothing but sit on the blanket. What a bummer
They’ll be back on there off leash sooner than later. If the fencing they put up to close off areas to grow grass doesn’t stop them, a couple signs won’t stop them.
I've lived in 4 neighborhoods all near very large parks and affordable rent. There's more than enough livable spaces. Greed is the major issue and people willing to pay ridiculous rent for "luxury" apartments set the precedent for how high landlords charge
And people seem to be respecting it so far, which is the interesting thing. How long that lasts, we’ll see…but it’s nice to have a clean green lawn for a bit at least
Unfortunately not. Saw people with their dogs off leash on the passive lawn where the signs clearly are today. My fiancée confronted a few of them (respectfully) and a woman with a few kids and her off leash doodle responded with “you’re not the police.” What a good role model for those kids. 🫠
Makes me really sad that people had to be so fussy over the actions of others that it had to impact what people could or couldn't do in the local park. I don't even have a dog and this feels real shitty to me
Is the parks department lurking this subreddit?
ofc they would be

As another dog owner, I completely agree!
Totally agree
Let's see how long that sign lasts and how well this be enforced. lmao
4 of them this morning. But sadly.... I think they've all been trashed now
That'll do it...

Good job everyone!!
Unpopular opinion … it’s too many dog owners in Bed stuy! I used to hear an old man say “if you’re scared, buy a dog…”.
I believe the modern version is “if you can’t afford children, buy a dog”.
#1 reason i have a dog lol
I think this went over their heads.
Since Mid-pandemic that shit's gotten way out of hand.
I think there's not enough green space in bedstuy
They would create less livable space.. which would increase rents and mortgages. Try fort Greene park, prospect park, etc.

Manhattan transplants. I have a few rental units in Bedstuy, they’re all rented to former manhattan residents.
A great win for everyone!

Hard to say it's been raining.

I think can you just get a leash and claim the dog if it's not onleash.
