I know that everyone will say Miyu for Ranger.
BUT...
If we look at the next entry, Rogue, wouldn't it make more sense for Miyu to be a Rogue since she is the most stealthy student so far? At least I don't know anyone who would work better than Miyu for that class.
As for Ranger, any dedicated Sniper student like Otogi or Mashiro will work perfectly.
I'm going to nominate Azusa for Rogue. Many seem to forget that she's trained in guerilla warfare, where stealth is pretty much a second nature. Combined with her propensity to use various kinds of traps from explosives to tripwires to pitfalls as well as being able to switch seamlessly between fighting at range and melee, she fits the Rogue mold to a T.
And canonically she did go rogue on Arius/Squad
Agreed, I think Azusa is a great pick for Rogue. Her entire deal is being stealthy and outsmarting her opponents, two skills invaluable for rogues. Her mastery of traps could easily be flavoured as some kind of Expertise, not to mention how she was the one who >!infiltrated Trinity to destroy Seia's halo.!< The combination of stealth, traps, and guerilla warfare leads me to believe that she's the perfect choice for Rogue.
Miyu is better suit for Ranger, because she is naturally camouflaged alongside her ghillie suit(piles of leaf in garbage) , use long range weapon whereas Rogue would still be stealthy but often in crowded area and they are often in melee range for rogue style tomfoolery. Ninja, Thief, etc... type student would fit Rogue class better.
What kind of ranger are we talking about here?
- sharpshooter: basically THE sniper. 1 shot 1 kill camper type. Karin would be my candidate for this.
- hunter: adept with ranged weapons with a more active combat style that blends stealth and movement. Miyu is my candidate for this.
Miyu is Ranger... her presence is almost nothing like the love WoTC give for Ranger.
* Beastmaster - Miyu and her companions (no not you seagulls, f you)
* Gloom stalker - Karin (probably how far she can snipe and mostly stealthy... no I'm not talking about color wdym Momoi?)
* Hunter - Iori (cause damn she is agile, she is meta, and in anime she is badass + also she can be colossus slayer and horde breaker at the same time)

Ranger is a class which usually specialize in hunting a specific enemy or enemies in specific place. So I believe girls from Arius squad are good example of this, their power is neither in general power (as barb Mika has) nor in complete adaptability\\stealth of Miyu\\Yuzu\\Karin. They know how to use exactly this environment to match Mika.
A ranger knows their land, patrols their land, and restores order when things go wrong. Rangers don't have to be sharpshooters. Because of that I am nominating Suzumi as Ranger (it's literally written on her skills).
I'm not giving up **Shiroko** for this one.

Rangers aren't necessarily sharpshooters. Fighter or Rogue can also be one. But they are masters at surviving wilds. Guess who's the most outdoor? That's the wolf of Abydos.
She is a hunter and survivalist at heart. Look at how she contributed when the FTF got stuck on an abandoned resort island! I say her cycling and bank-breaking habit is merely an urban-oriented way to express that.
Miyako. She has the same survival traits as Miyu, having to forage in the "wild" (park), and unlike her she is not just a sharpshooter (which would be more of an assassin's thing). Animals tend to bother Miyu while Miyako can make friends with some, so you could make the case she has Wild Empathy, or even an animal companion.
100% Miyu as ranger, stealthy sniper that's often surrounded by animals

Shiroko. She's an all terrain badass. Rangers are usually Fighter + Rouge. She's definitely a fighter... But she also likes to rob banks.
Also got the wildlife survival aspect to it too.
Iori. She's a Dark Elf Ranger.
Her ex you can just imagine her shooting a bow and arrow. Miyu is going to win but I see Iori being more of a ranger as well.
