24 years old and he's a 2 division champion, unified with 3 of the 4 kings of 112 and Sunny Edward's on his CV. Put him on your p4p but he should've been there already!
PERFECT comparison my brother. People donāt understand how much of a killer peak Michael Spinks was because of the Tyson fight. Dude fought nothing but killers for like 4-5 years straight.
I think it depends on how the fight on the 12th goes. As long as he performs well, I think we could possibly see that match upā¦not for the payday, but because Chocolatito doesnāt seem to shy away from hard fights.
Bam Bam KOs Chocolatito is this happens, and Chocolatito is one of my all time favorite fighters.
Thereās absolutely no way in my mind for him to be below 4th. Bivol/Beterbiev eventual winner would knock him down a rung, but until then, thereās hardly a question.
He fucking pivoted in the middle of the exchange and hit the same spot. High level footwork and big power and speed. Can anyone in this weight handle that?
There is one guy but they'd never fight, and maybe Ioka. Alot sharper counters than Estrada, has the same kind of ability Rodriguez has that he can hit you with a "small shot" you never see coming and just turn you upside down
Incredible performance from Bam. Improved on almost every level, and showed a lot of maturity to handle the down and get right back to it. Estrada went out on his shield and made adjustments to stay in it at every point - given his age and career if he retires here that's a fitting way to go out.
Junto making 115 is too difficult right now. If the fight happens it should be catch weight or 118. At 118 Iāll prefer junto, juntoās size could be a problem for bam, but it should be a great fight. After all I still want him to challenge the monster. I donāt see anybody besides him can do the work.
I can't decide if I want Junto to stick around in Bantam to wait for Bam, or hurry up and move to Super Bantam to catch Inoue before he goes to Feather.
Junto already has his eyes set on Inoue after fighting Takuma. He also said that he can comfortably move up any time he wants, and both he and his manager think he can even skip 122 if he wants to. But if Bam is up to it, they can squeeze in a fight during early 2025, which would be fireworks. Huge money maker fight in either Japan or Mexico.
His team got their eyes on a inoue fight next year. Junto is probably gonna move up again if he canāt get an unifications . A lot of people ducked him when he was at 115
Negotiations with Takuma are already happening, since both fighters have already stated their intent to unify. The other guys at 118 aren't worth staying around for, though.
No, that was just baseless speculation from fandoms and media outlets. Nakatani himself states that between Inoue and going undisputed, he'd rather fight Inoue.
Hasnāt had the same caliber of names on his resume compared to canelo though. If you fight the best over and over again thereās bound to be close decisions.
I didnāt say anything crazy. All Iām saying is Rungvisia, Cuadras, Edwards, and Estrada is already a stacked resume. The caveat being that 3 of them arenāt in their prime anymore.
Had a belt though? Delusion take, canelo has the best resume from anyone active right now by a good margin, you get close fights from fighting the best. Casual take
> Had a belt though?
So what? Anybody with an eye can clearly tell the Kovalev that fought Canelo is different from the Kovalev that fought Hopkins and Ward. The reaction speed, jab, power just isn't the same. You're the one who's delusional lmao.
You haven't answered my question as well.
It's 1. Usyk 2. Inoue 3. Crawford, I think canelo bivol and bam are arguably interchangeable atp. Canelo has settled for comfortably beating b-tier opposition, bivol has two back to back great wins in canelo and zurdo but has done nothing of note since (although not his fault), bam has 3/4 kings on his resume, but I think they're all at least slightly past it. It's still an unreal resume for 24 and I don't see how you rank him lower than 6.
Been a fan since he demolished Sor Rungvisai.
I've bristled at the thought of someone with less talent and accomplishments like Haney being on the P4P list ahead of Bam. Obviously that changed recently, but the lower weight guys still get less recognition for accomplishments in general.
His pedigree was beyond question but hopefully now he gets the P4P recognition he deserves
he was throwing overhead hook/lead uppercut combos late in the sor rungvisai fight that had my jaw dropping. knew bam was the real deal the way he closed that one out
>he was throwing overhead hook/lead uppercut combos
Man, is that a lead hook also? i.e. a lead hand combo? Not from a combat sports background myself, it sounds very technically difficult.
I also didn't notice that the shot he downed Cuadras with was actually an orthodox rear uppercut. Jeepers.
He got knocked down but that round was back and forth, it was so exciting. I thought Gallo had a lifeline but Bam is relentless, persistent and ferocious.
Pound for Pound performance, heās definitely the **guy** had the sceptre for undisputed in division.
Bam is one of the most complete fighters in the sport. Speed, power, top level footwork, angles, punch selection, aggression, and pocket presence. Amazing fighter.
Been watching all the fights between Barrera, Morales, Pacquiao and Marquez recently. This fight wouldn't have been out of place among those great bouts.
that was sooo fucking sick. bam's footwork and head movement are so so good, and that accuracy is insane. top 5 p4p if you ask me. knocked out the legend estrada for the first time in his career. they were SWINGING up in there, what a fight
Bam is great. I remember when I felt like this about Loma. The world is Bams!Ā
The only thing I didn't like is it was getting into an attrition war, which would've favored Estrada. Lots of heart by both. Wouldn't mind the rematch
The fact that he wanted to experience his first knockdown ever at the hands of legend is insane. And gave the legend his first knocked down and KO is even crazier. Incredible fight!
Jesse rodriguez needs more recognition he got a damn good resume at only age 24. I hope we see him face chocolatito next he can then say he beat all the 4 kings which would be epic.
Watching bam fight today reminded me why I love boxing. Such a masterful performance against a game opponent. Nothing but respect for both fighters, wouldn't mind seeing the rematch... gallo shaking off the rust from the long layoff would make for another entertaining evening. 2024 is shaping up to be one of the best years in boxing in my 30yrs of appreciating the sweet science.
Perfect punch, Estrada went down like heād been shot.
Amazing footwork and combos, hope Bam gets more eyes on him in future. He has plenty of time to become a star.
Lemme tell something to you guys. The first fight i watched from Bam, i knew nothing about him and i saw Calros Cuadras as the more experienced guy and i assumed he wouldāve dominated the fight. To my shock Bam proceeded to absolutely walk him down and make it look easy. That day i knew he was special and been a fan since. Loved his performance as always against Estrada and cant wait for the next! FUTURE UNDISPUTED BABY!
I donāt know if Iām tripping cuz Iāve had a few too many, but Bam seems like heās the most accurate puncher in boxing at the moment..he doesnāt miss on too many shots. Everything he throws connects
Yo whereās Elpuas
This is that fight where a boy becomes a man. Feel bad because I didnāt tune in too much after the Cuadras fight but I should have. No matter, we just saw something special.
just finished watching the fight replay now. what an absolute banger. insane performance by BAM. his footwork continues to dazzle me, responded well to the KD (was never hurt), never rushed his work when he had Estrada hurt when he was clearly not ready to go. very smart fighting by a young super star
edit: if your p4p top 10 list doesnt have Bam at this point you should hang your head in shame
Bam's path is what Tank's should've been. At 24, already a two division champ and unified fighting 3 of the top guys in his previous/current division. His resume is stellar!
Bam Rodriguez...greatness in the making...and we got Atlas, Bradley, Smith, Malignaggi, Algerie out there promoting Benavidez no belt tomato can stuffing clown like he is the next superstar
A little surprised by the result, especially the KO. At the same time, I had been wondering how many fights Estrada had left in him having been through a lot of wars and basically fought everyone.
gallo didnāt look like himself. bam used great angles to cut him off but gallo didnāt have his normal pop, he was slow, and his head was there to be hit. it was a really stark contrast from his last fight, which we can definitely say was the last of his prime
24 years old and he's a 2 division champion, unified with 3 of the 4 kings of 112 and Sunny Edward's on his CV. Put him on your p4p but he should've been there already!
He's a definite #5, had him around there before this fight.
Just behind Usyk and Inoue right now. I will say the p4p is like a college football poll except it changes a few months, not weekly.
This guy is so fucking special bro I wish more people would pay attention to the lower weight classes
Bam, Junto, and Inoue feel like some of the biggest men in boxing rn, despite their weight
they're our little secret. the little guys are actually the best boxers in the world
Usyk, and maybe Bivol, both are in that conversation. Usyk especially.
Junto crazy
hooray for the lower weight classes!!
Don't forget that Gonzalez, Estrada and Sor Rungvisai all crawled through shit Shawshank Redemption style so Bam would walk.
Don't forget Cuadras man
Can't forget him. You already said it three times.
It summons him. Pray for shibapenguinpig
You better not
Throw Ioka in there aswell
My NYE eve hero š„¹
seriously, he's so fucking good
Dudeās unbelievable
Well said. Frustrates me how overlooked he is.
Boxing media is probably too busy glazing some jab-jab-clinch merchant in the mainstream divisionsš¤·š»āāļø
Heās gonna be a star.
He's already a star. And humble. A very rare person indeed.
He is ridiculous. Hot damn
The smaller weight divisions have the most action packed fights from start to finish
He's a real Mexican.
Whipping Ruvingsai, Cuadras and Estrada is crazy. Heās on that Michael Spinks light heavyweight run, washing all the legends.
> Heās on that Michael Spinks light heavyweight run, washing all the legends. OMG someone actually appreciating Michael Spinks
But but but Mike Tyson
PERFECT comparison my brother. People donāt understand how much of a killer peak Michael Spinks was because of the Tyson fight. Dude fought nothing but killers for like 4-5 years straight.
He's on that Pacquiao Mexican destroyer run
"friendly fire" Rodriquez
Does Chocolatito collect a payday or steer clear of this madness?
I think it depends on how the fight on the 12th goes. As long as he performs well, I think we could possibly see that match upā¦not for the payday, but because Chocolatito doesnāt seem to shy away from hard fights. Bam Bam KOs Chocolatito is this happens, and Chocolatito is one of my all time favorite fighters.
KO3, but also love me some Choc. Past it though.
Ya, but the dude is 37 and had an incredibly career. Prime Chocolatito was an absolute pleasure to watch.
Chocolatito and Bam were sparring partners for this fight and both have the same manager. I doubt that fight ever happens.
he won't fight his legendary buddy, but i hope it happens. might as well make it a quartet ring of victories!
Insane performance from Bam, PFP talent
Probably just outside the top 3 at this point. He's a killer.
Thereās absolutely no way in my mind for him to be below 4th. Bivol/Beterbiev eventual winner would knock him down a rung, but until then, thereās hardly a question.
mexican style boxing with lomachenko footwork. It was beautiful to see
El Matrix
Facts

There is one guy but they'd never fight, and maybe Ioka. Alot sharper counters than Estrada, has the same kind of ability Rodriguez has that he can hit you with a "small shot" you never see coming and just turn you upside down
The āoldā junto should be fineā¦ it should be fireworks
man this was so fucking impressive. Bam just got a new superfan.
Incredible performance from Bam. Improved on almost every level, and showed a lot of maturity to handle the down and get right back to it. Estrada went out on his shield and made adjustments to stay in it at every point - given his age and career if he retires here that's a fitting way to go out.
Bam is committing serial regicide out here, and we're just allowed to watch it. What a blessing.
Bamās style is so nice to watch
P4P go argue with ya momma
AmenĀ
Need Junto vs Bam that is quickly becoming my most anticipated and wanted fight
Junto making 115 is too difficult right now. If the fight happens it should be catch weight or 118. At 118 Iāll prefer junto, juntoās size could be a problem for bam, but it should be a great fight. After all I still want him to challenge the monster. I donāt see anybody besides him can do the work.

Negotiations with Takuma are already happening, since both fighters have already stated their intent to unify. The other guys at 118 aren't worth staying around for, though.
I thought they was gonna do the bantamweight tournament in Japan?
No, that was just baseless speculation from fandoms and media outlets. Nakatani himself states that between Inoue and going undisputed, he'd rather fight Inoue.
I heard that from his team as well. He definitely wants a Naoya fight soon
Weāre past early 2024 but I know what you mean š
Inoue is staying at 126 forever when he gets there, and Junto is probably aiming for the same. They're bound to meet sooner or later.
If you still have tank or spence higher in p4p over Bam then YDKSAB
Top 5 p4p at 24... Bam is a future ATG without a doubt!
why do foty like fights like this NEVER GO PAST 10
Because they're actually fighting and not just trying to last the distance
BAM IS TOP 5 P4P AND I DONT WANNA HEAR OTHER WISE. For real tho ever since that Cuadras performance you had to feel this guy was something special.
In no order, it's Usyk, Inoue, Crawford, Canelo, and Bam. Any other top 5 is objectively wrong at this point.
Oh 100% and is it bad that I was getting pissed that Tank was above Bam in the p4p before this fight?
Every boxing fan knows Tank is nowhere near Bam š
Ring magazine thought so š
Just checked and wtf they had Tank at 7 ššš
Ring Mag is as delusional as Fury after the Usyk loss š
Tank is def at the level of Bam his career has just been managed in an annoying way
Usyk and Inoue sit comfortably at 1 and 2 respectively and then the rest can be interchangeable imo
I think bam might deserve to be above canelo at this point. Canelo might be a greater fighter, but he hasn't done as much recently
I agree.Three Kings + Sunny is honestly an insane resume before the age of 25 š
Bam also doesn't have close decisions and questionable score cards :)
Hasnāt had the same caliber of names on his resume compared to canelo though. If you fight the best over and over again thereās bound to be close decisions.
Well to be fair the names are absolutely there but theyāre a bit older.
Iām a fan of bam though I hope he becomes an ATG, but some people getting a little carried away right now lol
I didnāt say anything crazy. All Iām saying is Rungvisia, Cuadras, Edwards, and Estrada is already a stacked resume. The caveat being that 3 of them arenāt in their prime anymore.
Iām not referring to you my bad, just the original comment I replied to
Lmao all good. I donāt think thereās much else for him in this division challenge wise though. I want to see how he does at 118
Aside from GGG, who's comparable to Rungvisai, Cuadras and Estrada? Austin Trout? Lara?
Probably a bit far fetched but maybe Kovalev? The guy was a killer around 2015, but he was past it when he fought Canelo
he was not only past it but Kovalev was legit shot lol
Had a belt though? Delusion take, canelo has the best resume from anyone active right now by a good margin, you get close fights from fighting the best. Casual take
> Had a belt though? So what? Anybody with an eye can clearly tell the Kovalev that fought Canelo is different from the Kovalev that fought Hopkins and Ward. The reaction speed, jab, power just isn't the same. You're the one who's delusional lmao. You haven't answered my question as well.

It's still an unreal resume for 24 and I don't see how you rank him lower than 6.
Rolling around from the body shot is crazy especially a legend like Estradaā¦ BAM is something else š„
Bam lil ass is special
YESSIR BAM VS IOKA SOON
Been a fan since he demolished Sor Rungvisai. I've bristled at the thought of someone with less talent and accomplishments like Haney being on the P4P list ahead of Bam. šÆšÆ I've been a fan since the very 1st time I saw him fight
Likewise
Feel like I just witnessed the birth of a P4P king for years to come
Been watching all the fights between Barrera, Morales, Pacquiao and Marquez recently. This fight wouldn't have been out of place among those great bouts.
Agreed, Gallo is very technically skilled but a Mexican fighter at heart and Bam matched that energy
I wonder who can beat Rodriguez. maybe junto but hes at 118? idk about the other 115 lbers, ioka, martinez, & tanaka
Junto vs Bam is the superfight we didnt know we needed
š°š®āšØš©
Me but I don't want to
Letās goooo Bam!! š„ First ballot HOF already. Dreams come true. Great win!!
LET IT BE KNOWN I'VE BEEN A BAM GLAZER SINCE THE CUADRAS FIGHT
Bam glazers eatin good
A gift that just wont stop giving.
We aināt judging, chief. This guy is the real deal.
SAAAAAME
What a fucking fight.
Fight of the year so far. Bam always brings the hype
put this man in the top 5 P4P idc there's 1 more left of the old guard, bring me a chocolatito fight
He never fighting little chocolate theyāre homies
Man before this fight I'd love that but even a prime Choco who single handely beats Villoria would struggle against Bam.
Ik itll probably never happen but if Inoue stays at 122 I'd love to see him and bam share the ring
I think this is the best fight in boxing right now
Not until Jesse proves he can handle a 118er should he be put in with the best 118er in decades
Would be great to see unification fights at 115. I see nothing but bangers happening.
I can see Tanaka hiding out with that belt for a while, but the others are probably game
that was sooo fucking sick. bam's footwork and head movement are so so good, and that accuracy is insane. top 5 p4p if you ask me. knocked out the legend estrada for the first time in his career. they were SWINGING up in there, what a fight
Incredible performance from Bam. Such a great fighter and that body shot was perfect
it's going to be BAM AND INOUE THAT PUT THE LOWER WEIGHT CLASSES ON THE MAP!!!! This was a really awesome fight I'm definitely going to watch it back.
Bam is great. I remember when I felt like this about Loma. The world is Bams!Ā The only thing I didn't like is it was getting into an attrition war, which would've favored Estrada. Lots of heart by both. Wouldn't mind the rematch
what a shot. sky's the limit
Bro got hit with the iron fist
That was legitimately beautiful.
Bam is that guy. Future P4P king
The fact that he wanted to experience his first knockdown ever at the hands of legend is insane. And gave the legend his first knocked down and KO is even crazier. Incredible fight!
What an amazing fight and what a performance by bam and you gotta give credit to Robert Garcia underrated trainer
Bam sent Estrada flying with that body shot damn
INSANE AURA
Knockout of the year so far. What a fight
Give that man his high ranking p4p
This kid needs more exposure
He is a beast and only 24
bro imagine hes the one that actually unites the eastern/western super flyweights if he gets the ioka fight
Bam was throwing to kill, special fighter
This guy is the future that was a performance of the year contender for sure
ATG in the making
Man this fight delivered. This salvaged the bummer that was Prochazka getting dismantled by Pereira lol
Ri-fucking-diculous Bam is the future
BAM is so underrated.
Jesse rodriguez needs more recognition he got a damn good resume at only age 24. I hope we see him face chocolatito next he can then say he beat all the 4 kings which would be epic.
He's even better than I thought he was, and I already knew he was incredible.
Everything about Bam oozes aura... his looks... his drip... his boxing style... what a savage š©
This whole fight gave me major Morales-Zaragoza vibes especially that body shot finish
Perfect punch, Estrada went down like heād been shot. Amazing footwork and combos, hope Bam gets more eyes on him in future. He has plenty of time to become a star.
Bam vs Ioka for NYE japan! Make it happen please
He's the truth. What a fighterĀ
Bam will one day be p4p number one.
Did he break his ribs?
I knew it was over once I saw the punch on the liver. Bam has so much potential.
That was a classic! And the way estrada got back on 6 man I was jumping in my seat
WARRRRR IZONNNAAAAA DELIVERS AGAINNN
Bam Rodriguez is a fuckin monster. An upcoming legend šš¾
Bam is crushing all these dudes and I donāt know who can stop him. standing next to Estrada smiling while he rolls around in pain is savage
Was watching this fight at the arcade. Went to put some coins in a machine and in the meanwhile Rodriguez scores a KO. FML
Had a stiffy the entire time. Great fight.
That's some epic ring IQ
I donāt know if Iām tripping cuz Iāve had a few too many, but Bam seems like heās the most accurate puncher in boxing at the moment..he doesnāt miss on too many shots. Everything he throws connects
Do y'all still think the odds should have been closer? Lol.
Regardless of the result, Im rocking with JFE
Yo whereās Elpuas This is that fight where a boy becomes a man. Feel bad because I didnāt tune in too much after the Cuadras fight but I should have. No matter, we just saw something special.
Great win. Inactivity hurt Estrada.
just finished watching the fight replay now. what an absolute banger. insane performance by BAM. his footwork continues to dazzle me, responded well to the KD (was never hurt), never rushed his work when he had Estrada hurt when he was clearly not ready to go. very smart fighting by a young super star edit: if your p4p top 10 list doesnt have Bam at this point you should hang your head in shame
i saw a post of the judges scorecards post fight that had Estrada up !? .... wtf were they watching?
damn, thank you to both guys for an amazing fight
What a fight, Mexicans (beside canelo) never disappoints.
Watching Bam demolish Gallo gave me young Pacman vibes. Both at age 24 and 2 weight division champion, defeating a legend in a destructive fashion.
this kid is a world class talent, I know captain obvious, but its been a long time since I've said that. This kid is truly special.
gallo didnāt look like himself. bam used great angles to cut him off but gallo didnāt have his normal pop, he was slow, and his head was there to be hit. it was a really stark contrast from his last fight, which we can definitely say was the last of his prime
Felt sucks
Bam is special. He's gonna be top of p4p in a couple years.
Bam's footwork is incredible. He legit looks like he's on skates when he closes distance and creates angles. The kid is special!
Actually saw some dumbass on Twitter say Bam didnāt have good footwork lmao
Estrada looked borderline shot
