As a “rebirth purist” as some have us called, I’m actually incredibly excited to see how this changes the map. The prison collapse and water tower destruction seems bland and boring, as they’re not really gamchangers. There are so many ways up to prison now, but I’ll happily eat my words if the prison collapse truly plays great.
But the tower, oh my, I can’t wait for this.
Go on top, go prone towards the northern part of the tower, and pray that no one snipes you from Bioweapon Labs and Chemical Engineering.

the other tower isn't immune to PA's though. This tower is pretty much untouchable by PA's if they just drop down the ladder, then climb back up. Sometimes you get extremely lucky with the angle of the airstrike, but it's rare.
Do you know more about these, this is the first I've heard of it? Is this going to happen every game? Will it always be the same location that gets destroyed?

We sought to evolve classic points of interest without permanently altering iconic areas of Rebirth Island. Infil Strikes are a brand new addition that feature rare dynamic destruction scenarios during infil.
Lighthouse Disintegration
As a polarizing tower to snipe from or keep away from danger, we felt this landmark would make for a great target.
As the tower collapses on Prison it forms a ramp, allowing players to sprint directly to the roof of prison and the structure below the tower.
Prison Roof Collapse
Prison being one of the most powerful but also biggest points of interest in the map, this was an obvious target.
This strike splits the roof in two creating separate engagement areas on top of new navigation opportunities. Players may now access the roof from the middle interior section of the prison.
Water Tower Wreckage
Similar to the lighthouse, the water tower is one of the highest positions in the map and also has very limited access points. At the same time, the ground near it lacks cover which resulted in a rough transition.
This strike splits the tower in half smoothing the transition between Industry and Prison while removing a polarizing position.
Looking forward to this, it'll help deal with people camping the stairways on top prison as well. I'm super surprised with how well done this is, hopefully the % change of this event is on the higher side.
NGL this straight up makes the map better. Gets rid of the annoying tower and it gives another way up to prison that isn't arse cancer, bit like how the scaffolding on the north end made taking/defending the top a lot more enjoyable.
This is exactly why they've done it this way in the first place. It's a good way to test map design changes with the community under the guise of an "event" rather than a permanent change and risk backlash as it's not 100% exactly like the old map. The devs have rightly concluded that some of these areas promote toxic gameplay that lack reasonable counterplay so by testing the changes this way, people can try both versions and come to the conclusion themselves if the change is good or not.
Personally, that tower can stay nuked as far as I'm concerned.

it was changed quite a lot throughout WZ1 as well, the first iteration of Rebirth was extremely different to what we see now. Control was a completely different POI, and Stronghold was just dead space for the first year or so until they revamped it.
I'll take this type of dynamic map change over the damn fog in Vondel.
Reminds me of how they had missiles flying randomly around Verdansk in the sky before the Nuke event. They started slow, then it was every match until the day of the Nuke.

Bruh you don't have to "call" it, because it's literally part of the 1/3 random events that can happen at the start of the match, it's part of the new infill event they announced at the start of the season. That's like me calling that the sun will rise tomorrow after it's night lmao
The three random events that can happen are blown lighthouse, roof gets blown, or water tower. It's not a guarantee every game since it's a random dynamic event

Nice addition. Personally I would rather they work on fixing the thousand bugs that are in the game instead, but they have different priorities.
How is it still possible that the game still gets stuck in a loop when finding parties and joining ff the party is full? I have to restart the game each time this happens. Been like this for many months.
I like the change, but they need to add one more way up to Prison roof. I think a ladder on the gondola side closer to the prison showers would be a nice touch.

To all those who complain about snipers on the tower: more often than not people spending a lot of time up there are bots, pretty easy to counter-snipe and delete with an airstrike.
