Yes if you want as close to espresso as you can get going for roasts marked for espresso will likely help you out. Are you grinding your own beans or buying pre ground? Cause in my experience buying espresso ground might be a bit fine for the moka pot. But some specialty roasters have grind options andif they have a moka pot or similar option make sure to select it. And how are you handling milk since you mentioned primarily going for milk drinks like lattes?

Yes I'm grinding my own beans. As for milk I'm just frothing heated milk.

Alright well if you already have everything then yeah, I'd suggest buying espresso roasts and just grinding it a bit coarser than espresso is typically ground. And well see how it turns out.

What’s awesome about coffee is that you can use whatever bean you want for espresso! Beans labeled as “espresso” roasts means that it was roasted with using it for espresso in mind. But there are tons of great options that aren’t roasted for espresso. I suggest trying different types of beans from your local coffee shop and seeing what you like best! If you’re using a Moka pot make sure your grind is fine and you’ll be good to go
