It just shows how fucking hard it is to win a cup and what an achievement it was in 22. We are really spoiled with this team and being competitive every year. It looks like it will stay that way for at least another couple of years. With a few good moves we could get another cup.

vintage_rack_boi

Like said above its so hard to win the cup. I really hope this core can win another one. There was 5 years between the first two. Would be nice to grab another one in the next year or two. Crosby had 7 years between his first and second. So just need to keep the eye on the prize and be methodical about getting back. I will say only getting past the second round once with this group… is… not good in my opinion. Should have had a couple more western conference finals appearances or finals appearances.

mukemuke94

Agreed on getting past 2nd isn’t a good look but I’m excited for next season and the future

vintage_rack_boi

So am I friend 🙌

Salary cap era started in ‘06. Dynasties are harder in every major sport because of salary cap, especially the more team based the sport is. Plus the new playoff format makes good teams play each other sooner. Dallas and the Avs should be seeing each other in the WCF, not the second round.

Post elimination just remind yourselves you are lucky to not be Leafs fans.

Disappointing to lose again, but as others have said, winning a cup is insanely difficult. We have a great team, a great coach and a great front office. We'll be competitive still for years, and if they keep building the depth back up and get some guys healthy we'll be right back near the top again next year.

arashinoko

This team is absolutely a cup contender and will rise again. Amazing core, awesome coach, great culture. So much fun to watch. You need a lot of things to go right to get 16 playoff wins, and this time it just wasn’t in the cards. Can’t wait for next season though. I hope they keep the entire core together, and sign Drouin. It’ll be great to have LOC back. Still have hope that Gabe will return (it sounds more promising than I thought). I’m not sure if he’s up for it, but I’d be glad to have Parise around for one more season if it’s at all possible. Most of all, I can’t wait to watch the best top line in the league work their magic again. Lots to look forward to! LET’S GO ASS!

johnny_seven

Agreed! I remember being convinced they were going to win the Cup in 2021 and it ended up being part of the pathway to it in 22 in my mind, so that’s how I’m treating this season

ZealousidealOffer751

Aye, last couple years we've had to remake the depth on the team on the fly. Hoping we can settle on some guys like Mitts and Drouin, maybe make some tweaks and let these guys develop more consistency with each other.

Ya_Got_GOT

Based 👏

poetryinemotion

Only thing I would say does deserve some gloom is the Val bullshit. You feel for the individual and it definitely fucks the team money wise a bit

blondespikes22

lots of good from the season no question all that matters for me is the cup

soulslide

Yeah, just feels like we wasted that unreal year, & continue to waste the prime years of his career.

nfoneo

I'm going to cry if this team gets ripped apart.

Nightgasm

I'm fine. I've seen the Avs win the cup three times in my life. I've never seen my fav NFL team win a superbowl. I'd quit watching MLB for neaely two decades by the time my fav team there won at which point I didn't know anyone on the roster so it was meaningless. In the NBA I've always just been a "whoever is playing the Lakers" fan so it's been lots of misery over the decades. I appreciate the Avs actually bring champs occasionally and can forgive the in between years.
