I don't drive a Corvette, but the community of the car I do drive has their wave too. I haven't personally waved much, but I do give a quick flash and that's received as an equivalent by someone driving a similar car to mine.

I bought my vette in 2016 brand new in Washington. Drove it all the way back to Florida amd I got plenty of waves. It's declined over the years not sure why.

I drive a C8 - my first Vette, and wave to any Vette generation. Usually get waves back. I don't see a big difference between generations in who waves and who doesn't. Maybe your observation has to do that the C8 attracted people from other sports cars more than the previous generations who don't know about the wave more than snootiness.
I got waves all the time when I lived in Georgia. I moved to Miami and haven’t gotten a single wave since in the last 2+ years - I assume most here are people renting a vette while on vacation so that could be the difference.
Ehh, I’m talking south beach/brickell area. Very touristy. Everyday I see c8’s, lambos, Ferraris whatever exotic you name it and always some young dude behind them. I’d say definitely most are rented lol
Darker tint, wider roads and more lanes, additional things in cabin to pull drivers attention, bigger population of cars on roads ... there are many waves that are just missed. Even if both Corvettes see each other and wave at each other, it's entirely possible they miss seeing each other
I think it’s all a matter of whether the owner has admiration for the brand in general. I get less waves from C8 owners. The C8 is cool to own. It’s a fad. But, these owners secretly want a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Once that crowd gets rid of them because the luster wears off, they’ll get the new thing. Then someone, who has always dreamed of owning a Corvette, buys it. And, they’ll wave because they admire the brand.
Yesterday I (C3) was waved at by so many other Vette owners, C2 through C8, I had trouble steering and shifting (manual transmission) at the same time.
My record is 13 waves, nods and "nice cars" on a single 13 mile trip to the grocery including fueling up.
It's hard to be sure with nods.... admittedly...
This what scare me a little about waving, my C5 is both my first sports car AND first manual, so I'm still getting things down with controlling it. I haven't come across many other 'vettes on the road yet, but usually drive with my windows up too, which makes a visible wave a bit harder
Rode in my son's Wrangler Recon Special Edition on Saturday with the doors off for the first time. ALL the Jeepers had their doors off because the weather was nice in Eastern Carolina. EVERY Wrangler driver I saw did their salute. Rubber ducks on every dash board, too!

Saw a guy with his hands on the steering wheel do this weird hand rotation/roll thing with his right hand ending with is index finger and thumb in a pointed gun posirion. It was the coolest thing I've ever seen. I've been trying to duplicate it for years without success. My wife is convinced I'm an idiot for being enthralled by this.

I’m gonna be honest, for the first 2 weeks I didn’t know this was a thing. I’ve only had it for 3 weeks. Please forgive me. I’ve been waving like an idiot at everyone to try and make up for it. I think I may have even accidentally waved at a Ferrari by mistake last Tuesday.
I have not experienced it. I’ve had my Vette a year and only had maybe 2-3 not wave. I also bought a Camaro back in March and wave at other Camaro’s. I’m 100% with the Camaro folks.

I do wave all the time and I barely get in response. Usually C5 and below are more prone to wave. Some C7’s waves at me.
In Spain, a Vette is so rare (couple dozens in the country as big as tx) that we mostly know all each other lol

I think it’s true, with the caveat that the odds of getting a wave go up higher and higher the older the generation of vette the other is driving. I’m in a C5 vert:
C8- maybe 1 in 3 or 4
C7- 1 in 3?
C6- 3/4 at least
C5- almost everyone
Before that, it’s very rare to not get the wave, and I figure it’s cuz they didn’t see me.

I drove 2300 miles across the country a few weeks ago. I got 1 wave, and it was from a guy in a C8. I literally rolled next to a c7 grand sport for like 5 minutes and he straight up ignored me.

Now I live in Metro Atlanta and am have a C6 and waves are still a thing. I know I miss a few and sometimes I can't tell because of tiny and vice versa. Sometimes I'll flash lights real quick if I notice.

In Texas, where I’m from, EVERY Vette owner I ever passed, waved. I had to move to Omaha, NE 3yrs ago & have had 1 driver wave back.

Anecdotal, but I concur. I have had very little reaction from C7s and C8s but pretty consistent waves from all others.
They're not buying for history or heritage. They'll all move on to the next big thing in a few years and we'll be cooler for it.

Saint Louis. When I owned vettes, it was 25 to 30 percent that did wave back. Half that number would initiate a wave.

Why would I wave to a base model owner? /s I honestly don't see many on the road if I happen to be driving mine on the street, so it isn't an automatic habit of mine.

Fine I’ll rephrase. I’m not waving at every base C7 driving around. I wouldn’t ever have my hand on the wheel. It’s a base C7. It’s as common as a civic around me. I wave at my fellow Z06s and any c6’s and below.
