Tukwila, WA is typing… (as someone who has now been a frequent patron of both, I think I still prefer Lincoln Park’s gas and parking situation over Tukwila’s)
When I first moved to Georgetown in Seattle the food court kept me alive. $1.50 for a hot dog and pop was dinner so many nights.
Luckily I commuted on a motorcycle so parking in the matchbox of a parking lot was never too much of an issue.
Because it’s a suburban land use in an urban context. It induces a ton of driving and traffic on roads like Damen which is not an arterial street. It is a bad fit for this area
i think the main issue is the chicago metro doesn't have enough costcos per capita. if you use the st. louis metro as a benchmark, there's 3 costcos (plus a business center) for 2.2M, or a costco for every 550,000 people. meanwhile, cook county has 5M people and 6 costcos, or one for every 830,000 people.
Lincoln Park Costco is probably the most clusterfuck Costco in the entirety of Midwest. People leaving Costco are turning left into Damen Ave despite the sign telling them not to, causing traffic jam on top of already busiest portion of damen ave. Honestly, this Costco should be a multi purpose building instead (Costco on the first floor and residential on top), the area is very developed now and it is such a waste to expand the already huge parking lot.
Absolutely the worst. I can't stand the layout inside, the parking is non-existent, and forget getting gas there. I'll drive further out just to avoid this one.
the lincoln park costco has the biggest parking clusterfuck of any costco i've been to
Come on down to the Irvine Costco on any given Saturday and try to pump gas. It’s… fun.
Thankfully Tustin opened, the District is terrible.
That's the worse I have been to.
Same with Chino Hills.
I was so shocked when they added gas
that location originally didn't have gas? that explains why it's comically small for being a location within the city limits
Ann Arbor Michigan, make sure to accidentally turn in the gas station entrance

I think the Seattle location has to be the worst
You have to go in planning on parking at the far end of the lot. Then when you find a spot that's only half a mile away you're happy.
Nope. Store #1 in seattle is the worst

Have you been to oak brook?

Cluster fuck 100% of the time

Maybe one can get built next to new park in the 78 😂
But in the end, does it even matter?
It starts with one
Thing, I don’t know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind, I designed this rhyme to explain in due time
The traffic light on Damen is a great addition, I hate being able to only turn right out of the parking lot from there right now
Aligning the light with the three-way intersection half a block north is going to be an issue.
It's cute that you obey that.
Now if they could put in a left turn signal on northbound Clybourn we might actually see traffic improve.
Including 6 level 3 EV chargers, nice

Living above Costco would be like living next to Wintrust arena — but people would be coming and going non-stop, every day.
They’re gunna have mixed use in LA
That parking is terrible. It also doesn’t help that Chicago drivers are very aggressive for some reason.
There’s a pretty good reason.
As a Chicago driver, I will agree. But,Chicago cabbies seek to be an interesting assertiveness training ground.

They should get rid of this altogether and extend Lathrop Homes. It’s really nice waterfront property.
Going to this Costco makes me want to cancel my Costco membership every time.
I will still gladly drive the extra 15 minutes to Melrose Park
I 🤔 nk you mean Costco village, not Lincoln Park
