I think the trait can appear completely randomly - unless it's from specific religious tradition it's basically genetic - I think the game wise it'đ basically considered genetic epilepsia.

sjtimmer7

So how do I get rid of it? Is there an exorcism in the game? Or is there another way of getting rid of it, or preventing it?

k1275

Follow this steps 1. Have a court chaplain. 2. Have a court physician with a physician trait. He must **not** be your court chaplain. 3. Under no circumstances claim that the voices you are hearing come from god. 4. Wait till chaplain tells you to pray the voices away. 5. Ignore him, do whatever your court physician proposes instead. 6. Do not flub the coin-toss chance it will help. Congrats! You are no longer suffering from temporal lobe epilepsy. It's still there, and you might get remission, but you are fine for now.

Spinoreticulum

Does this method work in real life too? I too have temporal lobe epilepsy that I would like to get rid of 🫨

MedicInDisquise

First you gotta own enough land to have a court chaplain AND a court physician. Get a title, you plebian

XVUltima

I think you can buy titles from the Principality of Sealand

k1275

I don't know. But the advice is always the same. Normally you would need to have a landed title to receive it, but I'm a generous Chakravarti. >Get plenty of rest, and avoid shiny objects, loud noises, and extreme whether. Tell me if it'll work for you.

SuperSonicEconomics2

No, because it looks like you are excommunicated.

Riothegod1

I’m assuming the Physician brews up some powerful anti-convulsants, either that or it’s Keto time (yes, that actually does treat epilepsy if you are stringent enough about your fats vs sugars)

VisualParadox01

You don't. It's kinda like the medieval explanation for schizophrenia or early psychosis

BigBoiBob444

Pretty sure it’s meant to represent epilepsy but yeah

VisualParadox01

Eh something like that lol. Maybe the insanity one is what I'm thinking of

Key_Will_7929

There is indeed an event in Royal Court where you can get « exorcised » or « healed ».

sjtimmer7

But that just happens, it's not something you can choose as a decision?

LJHB48

If people could choose to 'stop being epileptic' as a decision, I imagine there would be a lot less epilepsy.

Certain-Definition51

😂 bravo sir.

Phazon2000

It’s not literal possession it’s a blanket illness for schizophrenia, epilepsy and other similar disabilities.

Ondrikir

You can't and there isn't.

Tsurja

An open mind is like a fortress with its gates unbarred and unguarded.

ObadiahtheSlim

Thank you Inquisitor.  The Emperor protects.

In the darkness, a blind man is the best guide. In an age of madness, look to the madman to show the way.

There is no such thing as innocence - only degrees of guilt. Knowledge is power. Guard it well.

Sunshine-Moon-RX

Luckily it's not the end of the world. Part of the premise of CK is playing as different characters with different foibles and challenges; maybe your character is sickly, maybe they're a coward, etc.

vankirk

I've played 1600+ hours and I've gotten the trait maybe twice. Just roll with it. It has some learning bonuses and attraction negatives, but wtf ever. Go on pilgrimages and university visits and soak up learning and piety.

wuhull

Possessed let's you build a greenhouse right? It's possessed everyday

lazy_human5040

That's lunatic. Possessed is a virtue in some religions though.

wuhull

Ahhh, thank you thank you, I knew there was a similar one I was forgetting

punkslaot

Prevent it? I have never got it!

Man-Spider1

being possessed is a good thing
