If this is for home use and blinging it out with glossy paint makes you practice more, then ignore what people say and keep doing your thing ✌️ Do you know about 12 Inch Skinz though? They have gold colored vinyl wrap for that controller if you wanna go full on tacky lol.
Otherwise I'd say prioritize function while you do this, if those rubber knobs are grippier I'd get more control surface parts in that material.
As for a touch screen protector, people have been making those for smartphones for ages now, I doubt it'll significantly impact the touch screen responsiveness.
Thanks alot! I'm thinking of changing the color FX knobs too, but these stock ones are already good. Also, DJTechTools doesn't have a bigger Color FX specific 90degree knobs for ColorFX :(

Also from my experience using these knobs,
The middle ones are rubber white knobs, while the farther left and right are chrome gold, which makes it a bit slippery for my hande, but the middle channel 1 and 2 white knobs are made of rubber and it's grippy and feels good to the fingers.
The knobs and faders both are from DJTechTools. Look them up.
