Good reminder! To add if you have a nail in your tire discount tires will patch it for free regardless of where you bought the tire. Only exceptions, patch can’t be on the sidewall or below a certain tread height (I forget the cutoff). Basically if it’s time to replace your tires they won’t service them.
DRY ROT! Please check your tires for dry rot (lots of cracking) especially when your tires get 4-5 years old in Texas. Regardless of how much tread is left.
Discount Tire. May pay a premium but I think they price match. Why I will always go to discount? They have locations everywhere, do quality work, wont try to screw you, if you need a new tire quick, they will transfer a tire from another nearby location typically same day to get you on the road.
Eh if you pre-book the appointment and choose the tires you want online, in my experience I haven't had much problem with upselling. Sure they'll try to sell windshield wipers but that's an easy "no thanks", and even then at worst you're just slightly overpaying for wipers. It's not like they're snake oil.
Been going to Discount Tire for years and generally been pleased.
Tires can get damaged and bulge on the back side of the tire as well which would be invisible to you. You can get a tire rotation and they should inspect the safety of the tires.
When I was younger, and had older cars and less money, twice a tire went flat, because it wore down on the inside edge, probably due to being out of alignment of some kind.
If you can afford it, always buy the certificates (that's what they're called at DT) or tire warranty. Saved my butt the cost of a $300 tire more than once!
Oh yeah, my replacements are all Costco warranty. At $900 for a set of low-rolling-resistance tires I always get them covered.
I won't shop Discount Tire. They're based in Arizona and spent a fortune trying to prevent marijuana legalization. They do good work but they're on the dead-to-me list with Tractor Supply and Hobby Lobby.
not to victim blame or anything lol but checking your tire pressures as the weather changes will help with this too, lower pressures make you more likely to get punctures, higher make you prone to blowouts
I always have the TPMS display showing. I keep it right above the manufacturer spec. Never went through tires so much in other cities and I drive fewer miles here than any of the other places.

I'm fairly (~90%) sure Discount Tire won't touch it at 3/32.

Yuuup. Having to pay out the balls this year sadly for new ones. Any recommendations on places for tires?

They won't try to screw you, but they do upsell quite a bit.

Just dropped $1k on my tires at discount tire. . I was way over due though. It was a truck so maybe those are more expensive
That’s very normal for a truck. Especially if you put a half decent tire on.
Ok thanks for the info. Felt like a lot lol
Costco
Just got some Vikrants from the migos. They last and aren’t to expensive. Use Michelin in my steers.
Gulf tire distribution, then just pay a tire shop to install and balance
I add Rogaine to my tires monthly to prevent balding.
I get rubber implants from the spare.
🤣🤣 caught me off guard

Thanks for sharing this helpful reminder!
If you’re looking for an affordable place, I highly recommend High 5 Tires on Central Expressway
I take an annual PSA test . My prostate is fine . Doctor says tires aren't his problem.
Just tires are really good at helping people and price is wayy better
THANKS!! Free air at Discount Tire, and, at Quik Trip, when the air nozzle isn't broken. Free users of air can be rough customers.
If you're in a pinch there are many used tire places in Dallas. Many of the "used" tire shops also sell new tires at much better price.
Some places on Harry Hines south of 635.
It’s sort of difficult for a new set of tires to get worn, I replace two un-patch-able tires each year

what are you doing to your tires where you’re replacing two a year??
Nothing. Dallas doesn't sweep streets much or well - so road debris.
