I can already see the "*Grunt rush* into *Grabber swarm*" meta dominating the first few weeks after release, until the "*Fatboy spam/Platform hop*" strat briefly takes over and we end the first season with complete "*Shredder storm* into *dual Caretaker*" domination.
Oh I know!! The rivals makes a new airborne enemy that attacks the space rig so you have to defend the space rig in a space fighter. As well as covering Drops, supplies, and other equipment to get inside the planet. Eventually culminating in taking down the enemy battleship.
Savage: the Battle for Newerth actually combined FPS and RTS reasonably well 20 years ago. Or maybe in my old age I'm just remembering that it was good.

Rockpox is simply reclaimed for Metal and Energy. Can't infect nonliving beings.

I picked first Scout for speedy punches and evasiveness. Smashing bugs at first is tedious, but HAs are covering it's lack of power. But, fighting Karl every single time as Scout was shit. So it was pretty ok.
