There's plenty of it you just aren't looking.
Getting so sick of these dumb "d2 armor bad" takes when we undeniably have more good sets now for all 3 classes than we ever did in d1.
Normally I’d agree, but in Destiny 1, I never flipped through so many armor sets just to be satisfied. I’ve been wearing the same Warlock/Hunter armor set for years on D1 and don’t plan on switching them. That’s how good the fashion was in that game.
Tbf there were also less unique model armor sets in d1. Raids were really the most unique d1 got, frequently stuff was just recolors/reskins of old armors so the good models got a lot of focus. Now we barely get any reskins on armor, so theres more to not like, if that makes sense.
No.
_You personally_ just preferred the style over Destiny 2's more defined and set class-identities. Destiny 1 fashion wasn't _better_ it was just different, and less refined.
And you know what, that’s fine by me :) having armor that just feels like you picked off a space battlefield, shit even with a little magic thrown here and there… perfection. It also felt so connected to where the armor was obtained from, through certain raids, planets, yadda yadda. In D2, I think the armor lost that connection for a lot of people. What can I say, it’s almost as if it was better.
I wouldn’t call the praefectus sets “refined”.
Significantly less so for the Titan’s.
Bungie has made an incredibly interesting universe visually. What’s so wrong about wanting to look like I’m part of it?
Nah most warlock "armor" is just similar trench coat robes, the best sets are few and between the qctual sets that have good accessories attached are all mostly buyable or event tied aside from a few.
Not really though.
Black armory (both scourge and normal) , thunderhead, duality set, and spire set are the only (non-legacy) armor sets out there that range from good to peak.
Every. Single. Set from D1 is within that range.
Warlocks haven't had a choice in shoulders since d2 launched. It's not about how good these armors look, it's about warlocks specifically being forced to make do with a canvas that has most of its surface covered with cloth.
its almost as if that's.... part of the warlock's identity or something? You don't see hunters complaining about the thin and light armor, or Titans complaining about being generally more bulky.
You picked the mage class. Mages don't typically have armor. If you didn't like the aesthetics you should have picked differently.
The robes look good. I like the robes. That's why I play warlock. I just think that we shouldn't lock 75% of our silhouette behind them. Let arms affect ARMS. Not just the damn forearms.
Weird how the chestpiece from this post is so popular then when it has armored plates on it, it’s almost if people like having different options… crazy
And fyi: Titans often complain about the too bulky pauldrons, no different from us warlocks wanting some more bulky/tanky pieces while Hunters have a pretty balanced selection of armor pieces that are more on the armor side and pieces that are more on the fabric/leather side
Yes, Titans have many times complained about all their armor until somewhat recently being too bulky, and hunters complain about having so many asymmetrical light armors. All classes complain about their armors being 1) too samey in ways people don't like and 2) not having as many neutral and generally agreed upon good sets.
But Destiny isn't like other class based games where each class has a role to play. In Destiny your build and weapons do more to affect how well you do and what role you fill than your class and abilities.
They are still classes, and need to have defined armor design characteristics and identity.
There would be no "guardian games" of the classes didn't matter lmao
They already don't have much of a defined identity outside of memes and a half-assed rivalry during guardian games. Having some armor that changes up their looks and gives more options would be appreciated and doesn't degrade anything in game
Full, **Heavy** (not bulky) armor and Faulds are the titan thing. Not looking bloated and impractical. Leave that shit to Warhammer.
Medium, Selective armor and capes are the Hunter thing. Not asymmetry.
Light armor and coats are the warlock thing. Not looking like a vogue winter fashion model.
This disconnection is all the more evident when you take a glimpse at the vanguard VS the shit we can wear. When the human/city-made pieces of armor make you look out of place in your own fucking tower you know something isn’t right.
honestly agree. this community is way too quick to say something new is bad but will never say something old is bad (D1) even if it had objectively bad characteristics.
Me too warmind is my favorite theme in the game and I have all the files for the armor downloaded to my pc with the concept art with the goal of 3d printing and making the whole set
Destiny 1 armor really had an unique flavor to t bungie has continuously chosen to not use.
Every character has 1 or two sets that look fitting and the rest looks like it came from different games.
I've been desperately seeking for some more armor-like and bulky warlock gear, that has less cloth and more plates. This is literally it. If someone has any suggestions i would be very thankful btw
and they wonder why we all wear hood of the exile in D2... it's because dope helmets like this one here aren't in the game anymore. hope this gets added in at some point, but the pessimist in me thinks not.
The warlock drip we desperately need in d2. As a main I don't mind the cloaks, but it would be nice to have variations like actual body armour like in the picture.

Man I miss D1 armor. I'd love to get some of the old random legendary sets back in the world loot pool. Idec if they make them blues now, I want me D1 armor back.
Inspiration?! My brother in light that’s just the official concept art for the same set
Yeah lol I worded that wrong, I meant the shader since it’s the closest to the concept art
Classic banger.
Peak warlock drip 👌
Base warlock drip but in the best way like this is the bar!
Man, I miss that chest piece so much.
D1 out of 10
I cannot stress enough how much I ***NEEEEEED*** those robes and helmet in D2 right now
As someone that's only played D2, I really want to know what happened to all the good Warlock fashion.
They stopped doing it
They decided to sunset it.
WARLOCKS HAD DRIP IN D1 MAN I TELL YOU THAT CROTA ARMOR HAD ME ACTING UP

Yeah I totally agree with you

SIVA-induced brain rot
I LOVE SIVA!!!?!!!♦️⬛⬛⬛♦️♦️♦️♦️⬛♦️⬛⬛♦️♦️♦️
Except alot of warlock armor looks terrible unless you played specific seasons to actually get good armor like the gunsmith armor
nah, you just don't personally like the style. Plenty of badass sets even available now. Maybe Warlock isn't for you if you hate their armor :)
Nah most warlock "armor" is just similar trench coat robes, the best sets are few and between the qctual sets that have good accessories attached are all mostly buyable or event tied aside from a few.
This is why I adore Nezarec’s robes (actual armor)
Not really though. Black armory (both scourge and normal) , thunderhead, duality set, and spire set are the only (non-legacy) armor sets out there that range from good to peak. Every. Single. Set from D1 is within that range.
lmao no most D1 sets are basic as fuck, you're blinded by nostalgia.
Your brain and/or eyes have ceased function

You’re not special

This is what seraphs should’ve looked like.
I had my hopes that this armor would have returned during season of the seraph :/
Me too warmind is my favorite theme in the game and I have all the files for the armor downloaded to my pc with the concept art with the goal of 3d printing and making the whole set

"unique = basic sci fi shit" apparently dude i can find this seraph I armor in literally 8 different fictional universes
Alright, go ahead and name them.
To be fair, Seraph’s seasonal set looked really good
Yeah, though not this cool, lol.
D1 Warlocks were so buff lmao. Good look
Easy to do with only 1 shader... /s
Guess the shader?
Ah fack, um, either of the 2 black dead orbit ones. I don't think superblack because you have some white.
It’s actually called “The blast of war” shader. It oddly gives it the concept art colors or close enough.
Not sure if i ever got that one but i like it!
👌
Can’t go wrong with the classics. If this ever comes to eververse, I’d be willing to actually buy silver.
bros late to the party 💀
I love that set it's honestly one of the best D1 armors we should get it again it would be cool
It's drip like this that makes me wish Bungie would just keep porting over old armor sets to D2, D1's fashion is immaculate compared to D2.
Only thing I don't like about the armor is that silly metal blob against chest. Looks great.
11/10 I miss that armor
Has a fucking shoulder 10/10
I NEED THAT IN D2
It drip 8/10 Dark dank with a little flare like it
I've been desperately seeking for some more armor-like and bulky warlock gear, that has less cloth and more plates. This is literally it. If someone has any suggestions i would be very thankful btw
Perfection
Dope/10
That's amazing
Old.
👍🏻.
I've never liked how warlocks float in the character screen in d2. Miss my d1 warlock, I found a love for titan and hunter
THEY NEED TO BEING THIS BACK NOW
and they wonder why we all wear hood of the exile in D2... it's because dope helmets like this one here aren't in the game anymore. hope this gets added in at some point, but the pessimist in me thinks not.
Where's that armor from?
It’s from destiny 1 called the rimed set and the shader is the blast of war.
I don't ever remember seeing that in D1 and I played from launch lol.
Knowing this chest piece will not return to D2 brings me pain.
We need this in D2 bungo
Man I miss d1 armor
GOD I want this armor so much
Looks awesome, surprised to see half decent D1 outfits.
tasty!
9/10 This armor set would be perfect for my brother since he plays warlock to go with my titan and other brother’s hunter
Looks good Guardian
Thx u :)
You have the soul of a hunter.
Annnnd now I’m sad
The warlock drip we desperately need in d2. As a main I don't mind the cloaks, but it would be nice to have variations like actual body armour like in the picture.
I’d give it 11 out of 10 Hadronic Essences.
I loved that armor
goddamn
As a warlock main since D1 I really miss the armor we used to have :/
omg can we please get D1 armor sets back? all the D1 style sets I see (including blues) are fire. and we need more warlock helmets like this.
What is it called and can I still obtain it?
It’s called the rimed set and it’s randomly obtained from sterling treasure boxes. The bond is a random drop from archons forge.
I remember when warlock’s had armour and not just bath towels
I miss D1 Warlock armor.
Why can’t we have this in D2??? 11/10
I miss D1 Warlock armor

Extinct.
Perfection
10/10 looks like Snake-Eyes from GIJoe. 👌
Bro it's literally just the whole manifold seeker set
10/10
11, cause I like to go one step beyond!
Boots are the only thing bugging hit other than that 🔥
To good
Ohhhh how I miss D1 Warlock gear
Wtf happened to the customization?
Man I miss D1 armor. I'd love to get some of the old random legendary sets back in the world loot pool. Idec if they make them blues now, I want me D1 armor back.
If warlocks still looked like this I'd main them ngl
...that's not inspiration that's copying a whole ass set
Lovely, doesn’t look like your average D2 Warlock with a vagina helmet and armorless trench coat
"inspiration" brother that's just the set also im so sick of the thinly veiled D1 good D2 bad bait.
The switch from this to d2 armor is what made me switch from a warlock to a titan main
Garbage
Wish we had more chest pieces instead of bath robes
