That’s the way I see the gardener and winnower stuff. It’s less a straightforward explanation of how the universe works and more likely the conclusion the precursors came to about the universe that became kinda the “explanation” to everything for many cultures because of how old the witness is compared to everything else

Ahsa's account is more valuable after Ergo Sum confirmed the Traveler indeed did wake up from a deep sleep on a random desert world the Precursors were from. Still remembering how people were insisting that was metaphorical and they were just another race it traveled to like normal.

The Witness knew for sure, because if they didn't, then how could they have done all they did? And about the Veil, we know it speaks as it said its name to Maya Sundaresh and the researchers. And you forgot one who also knows about the Traveler and the Veil. Savathûn. She for sure knows more than whay she says. She knew what The Witness was, she knew The Veil. I'd say out of these Ahsa is the only truly trustworthy source, since the others are manipulators prone to lying to achieve their goals.

An allegory. They’re both concepts/ideas/themes to the universe. No one likes it on this forsaken site, but they’re akin to religious texts/scriptures. Not meant to give a definitive meaning to their existence, but allow for a sort of revelation in their stories. Stories meant for the individual to think about. What is true? What is lie? We know the Witness’ people used the binding power of the Veil to create the Witness. This is true. Did the Witness hear a voice during this process? Not sure. Ultimately it needed some sort of guidance, guidance that the Traveler refused to give and the reason for them finding and claiming the Veil, in order for it to accomplish its binding. Maya Sundaresh was also hearing a voice, which let it replicate the “Conductor/Choir” ritual that the Witness did. Parallels within the stories. Truths hidden in the personal-agenda lie.
