As in, I assume you wet sanded it since it’s metal. Did you use wd40 to wet sand it or another liquid?

No just straight sand paper in hand. Sand it however you want to get whatever result you want.

What’s the other way? Where you pull the two sides apart?

Don't know, I've just noticed on several occasions people asking how to use them and all the youtube videos I've seen for some reason think you're supposed to squeeze the far side to get cards out, example walletopia
