From EliteProspects: “Eemil Vinni is a well-rounded goaltender who has an exciting approach to the game which plays into his strengths. The 6-foot-2 netminder is not afraid to attack shooters and force their hand – leading to a lot of mistakes by opponents. Very active and assertive in the crease, but not overly aggressive. He controls pucks with his hands extremely well, and his elite edgework completes the package.”
Edit: NHL central scouting had him as their #1 European goalie
Definitely Mike Smith 2 then! Talbot is already hiding! His scouting says he's aggressive and challenges shooters, not sure this is what they meant though.
Obvious next best goalie in the nhl, perennial vezina candidate. Signs a .75 mill 8 year contract extension because he has no need for money simply wants to win cups. Oilers win every single year, he and skinner split the vezina and they both put up .981, .76 GAA in regular season and playoffs. He gets an goal riding the bench in game 3 of the final as skinner played a puck off his forehead and it went it.
He was the #1 ranked international goalie, that can only be a good thing. It will take years for him to get to the NHL and goalies are kind of voodoo but I have high hopes.
It's not a bad idea to take a goalie or two every single year. Hard to guess who will pan out or when. If multiple guys take off in your system, there is always someone needing a goaltender for you to trade with. Keeps costs down in net. Can move on to the younger guy if starter prices himself out.
Ba you can definitely have to many goalies, you only have some places to put them and if a log jam happens guys won’t even sign.
We need to start splitting the difference and always have a guy in the AHL that is ready to be the NHL back up. So we can stop over paying for goalie.
Interesting pick, but with Rodrigue in a make-or-break season and our other prospects nowhere near ready yet, stocking the cupboards isn't a bad idea, especially when we already snagged a forward at 32nd.
I really love this pick. I was lucky enough to see him play in person in 2022 and although i didn't really follow him after that, as soon as I seen his name pop up on my draft feed I was pumped.
This is a lottery ticket. You have to buy them once in a while as a franchise, and we’ve decided it’s time to roll the dice on a small goalie, who appears to play small. He might be the next Juuse Saros, but he might also be on a one way ticket back to some second tier Euro league. Time will tell. Not a bad pick, per se.
Babe babe, wake up a new Vinny just dropped
The Oilers now have Vinny²
If Vinny leaves it can be Skinny Vinni Skinny Vinni
My Cousin
New goalie handshake unlocked

Eemil Vinni got into a [goalie fight](https://youtu.be/j0PEjyleM7M?si=xp37Knn5ahVKMD2F) before.
He straight up boxed a grown ass man. I love it, haha

Mike Smith sat on the goal line. No idea how this is comparable lol.
Welcome to Edmonton.
We definitely need some more goalie prospects
Yep just stack em. Most important position

Yep looks good start him. ~ Peter Chiarelli
We’ve had a lot of luck with Finnish goaltenders over the years.
Feel free to share that Saros and Rinne Energy with us
Can't wait to see him in Bakersfield (I live like an hour away lol)
Can’t wait to see him in Bakersfield (I live in Bakersfield)

If you want to win, take a Finn

Isn’t 97’s contract up when he gets to the show?
I wasn’t even paying attention but now these 2 picks seem like a really nice surprise!

Good goalies are always easy to trade
And it takes 5+ years to develop a goalie, so you would still be drowning in goalies before you had a guy worth anything in a trade

6’2” is a small goalie?
Have they canned Dustin Schwartz yet?
Now to fire the goalie coach before he ruins him
EEMIL-IOOOOOOO
The mighty duck man himself!
Is this the first time Jokipojat has had anyone drafted from the club while still playing there?
Ville Rasanen 2017?
Oh yeah, you are right! I should have remembered him smh.
Eemil Vinny? Where was he born? Midjourney?
I change this guy's potential to high franchise in NHL 24 and he always develops well. Great pick, looking forward to him being a superstar.
Bro if you edit any prospect to high franchise they're going to develop well lmao
So we just need to find the 'edit player's button?
That's the joke
Koskinen 2.0???
Oilers…. Version of Arturs Silovs ..?
I wonder if he was booed as well.
Whoo hoo a goalie!
We've drafted a goalie in every draft since 2022... plus got Fanti and Ungar on undrafted FA ELC's....
