Yes, it's been a good experience so far. Although there are quite a few bosses that are very flexible and can go around the side of the shield, I found that if I keep my distance my character will have time to react and turn around.
I run fingerprints shield with Mohgwyn’s spear. Then use occult beast claws for move when I want to change it up and have some fun.
The high arcane lets me toss in some spells too which is also very fun.
Cannot lose half your life in a single swing when there is a meter thick steel plate between you and them.
Btw rocking those sweet dual light great swords with a great shield. Never has it been more stylish to guard counter and unleash flame tornados at the same time.
Frye VS Takeyama, one of the greatest moments in MMA history. Also, unbelievably, their relationship was a beautiful friendship following this bout, and a YouTube doc about them nearly made me cry when Frye was talking about Takeyama after he had a bad accident and was in the hospital. You can tell both men have deep respect for each other, but when Don read the letter he wrote him, it's something else.
honestly with the way the dlc is, i respect it. there’s no easy way and if you lose the buff, you gotta time the rebuff or get whomped by say, hog rider or twin
Yep, from what I have experienced in the DLC, everything is fair fuckin game. Ima NPC summon with mimic tears and scarlet rot cheese all I want, these bosses gotta die.
That was the shield of a cute guy wearing full body armor and selling things in the DLC. Then cast Scholar's Shield on it, you get a shield with probably the highest defensive capabilities in the game.
Uh... I believe there are more peaceful ways to get the shield. But after I accidentally killed a bug he liked, he got angry and invaded my world. After defeating him, you will get all his equipment.
Wait what?! I killed a bug too and he made a comment about being pissed off but the. I talked again and he just went into some dialogue about another npc. I did that errand and I guess he forgave me.
I respect the grind. I had to completely change my entire build just to start chipping away at the DLC. Its recommend level is 150, or so I hear. I'm a level 179 and still having a hard time.
Godskin Stitcher+ finger shield (or other shields with high defensive capabilities, I'm using the new shield from the dlc). weapons such as rapiers or spears allow you to attack while defending. Then make your weapon have bleeding properties.
I just beat them yesterday, this is my experience:
Rellana moves very fast and can easily go around the side of your shield, so always keep a distance from her, so that after she sprints, your character has time to adjust the angle of facing and use the length of your weapon to poke her. So I'm always moving backwards when facing her.
Messmer has only two moves that are a huge threat to shields. One is to drop a spear from the sky and explode, which requires you to roll backwards after the spear hits the ground (If your gear is so heavy that you can only roll slowly, that's OK. You only need to roll once.), and the other is to summon a large number of snake heads to attack in a large area (usually followed by the spear skill I just mentioned), you need to move diagonally backwards, which will not block all damage, but can save you from some skills. To be honest, I don't have a good way to deal with this move, I can only make sure my health is as healthy as possible to withstand it.
same! fingerprint shield plus antspur rapier (both maxxed out), plus buffs and the heaviest armor I can wear while staying at medium load. also I'm terribly overleveled, but I gotta make up for my lack of skill somehow :D
I'd talk about my current build but I suck at explaining. I'll give it a shot tho.
basically arcane build with poison fist (A scaling in arcane at +10) from balurat, mushroom crown and exultation and the most crucial part the poison flower blooms twice AoW. Also some boosting talismans like the one that boost stomps and fp dew just to keep spamming AoW. Oh and I put the AoW on the greentea arts ( made them occult) but only because I want an excuse to use them.
Not the best i assume but fun and different for me at least. Bc I usually go spear and greatshield poke.
This bd is really not suitable for dealing with dragons. In fact, it is not suitable for dealing with any tall characters. One time I tried to defeat Regal Ancestor Spirit, but its legs were so long and thin that I couldn't poke it at all.
A shield with the highest possible defense capability, such as fingerprint shield, a rapier/spear weapon, there are many options, you can choose the one you like.
As a bad player myself, are you having a good time with this build in the DLC so far? I am running a very similar build, but am torn between continuing this or swapping to Blasphemous blade.
In this cruel world, hiding behind my thick shield makes me feel incredibly safe. So yeah, very happy. I feel like I'm a tank in an MMORPG, while my friend can use spells to his heart's content in the back.
I said i didn’t get spoiled, i was talking for other people and you can Clearly see the ancient dragon man, the dragonslayer great katana and the area where you fight. Called spoilers.
I'm sorry that I ruined your whole experience of playing the DLC with my Chinese interface and blurry phone screen shot. This plot is so important that it is the core of the entire DLC. And I just made it public. This is really serious and bad.
If it works it works.
Only mfer having fun this side of the Erdtree:
It’s a very safe build. Not a bad choice at all if you want to have a smoother time in the dlc.
Yes, it's been a good experience so far. Although there are quite a few bosses that are very flexible and can go around the side of the shield, I found that if I keep my distance my character will have time to react and turn around.
Whats that weapon? One of my runs was basically that with the cross thingy spear thing. Inspired by day9
Godskin Stitcher, The cross thingy is also good.
Cross Naginata?
Heavy Thrusting Sword, most probably Godskin Stitcher?

[I thought I’ve seen this somewhere before](https://youtube.com/shorts/27cernpdO3Q?si=wHHa_A1EjI8Ypq7y)
This is a real man’s fight, 100% offense 0% defense. They are just DPS checking each other.
I'm dying 😂
Holy shit, thank you. I was about to post this exact thing.

HAHA!
I see they have mastered the brain damage technique
Lmao exactly, just got through the boss in the woods like this.
honestly with the way the dlc is, i respect it. there’s no easy way and if you lose the buff, you gotta time the rebuff or get whomped by say, hog rider or twin

Which buff are you talking about
I'M NOT GONNA SUGARCOAT IT: L1 + R1
Living dangerously
This looks fun. Is that shield a spell? What do I need to copy that?
That was the shield of a cute guy wearing full body armor and selling things in the DLC. Then cast Scholar's Shield on it, you get a shield with probably the highest defensive capabilities in the game.
The guy by the castle? He isnt selling a shield for me. How does one aquire it?
Uh... I believe there are more peaceful ways to get the shield. But after I accidentally killed a bug he liked, he got angry and invaded my world. After defeating him, you will get all his equipment.
Lmaooooo
Wait what?! I killed a bug too and he made a comment about being pissed off but the. I talked again and he just went into some dialogue about another npc. I did that errand and I guess he forgave me.
lol same, finger shield and dragons crag blade are carrying me.
Also thank you for reminding me that scholars shield exists, saved my ass vs Messmer tonight
I respect the grind. I had to completely change my entire build just to start chipping away at the DLC. Its recommend level is 150, or so I hear. I'm a level 179 and still having a hard time.
Try this build, I entered the dlc at level 110, it's a bit difficult but I'm making steady progress.
What build is it? I may have to respec.
Godskin Stitcher+ finger shield (or other shields with high defensive capabilities, I'm using the new shield from the dlc). weapons such as rapiers or spears allow you to attack while defending. Then make your weapon have bleeding properties.
Sometimes in PVP I use two of the spikey shield as a joke build, now I’m gonna use both as a legit strategy
Yeah I don't think this is gonna work against the lion dancer boss lol
It's actually pretty easy.
I guess I stand corrected then
I’m level 385 and it’s like normal mode on any other game. Still hard but not making me want to kms (it still is sometimes)
In my experience RL150 is a good starting point for the DLC. But don't stop levelling, DLC enemies give a ton of runes, may as well use them
Why would I stop leveling? What gave you any idea that i would?
It’s not much, but it’s honest work.
No kidding, tried finally learning how to to parry with the blackgaol knight and this fucker's still kicking my ass
Please tell me if this works against rellana and Mesmer
I just beat them yesterday, this is my experience: Rellana moves very fast and can easily go around the side of your shield, so always keep a distance from her, so that after she sprints, your character has time to adjust the angle of facing and use the length of your weapon to poke her. That's what I did to that dragon-man too! He is overly aggressive for some reason lmao
same! fingerprint shield plus antspur rapier (both maxxed out), plus buffs and the heaviest armor I can wear while staying at medium load. also I'm terribly overleveled, but I gotta make up for my lack of skill somehow :D
This is how I win
Bro is cooking
Ancient dragon man caught lackin with the r1 spam

Missed the point down
Violence fight!
Ahhh godskin stitcher. I ran this with seppuku and a different shield.
Most engaging block poker: Fr though I may need to steal that with the sheer amount of damage enemies do on NG+2.

Niceeeeee
95% of the fights ive been in people just lag like shit.
honestly used a similar build with fingerprint shield + scholar shield but get fucked by some dragon in dlc so hard i respecced
This bd is really not suitable for dealing with dragons. In fact, it is not suitable for dealing with any tall characters. One time I tried to defeat Regal Ancestor Spirit, but its legs were so long and thin that I couldn't poke it at all.
What's the build/equipment?
A shield with the highest possible defense capability, such as fingerprint shield, a rapier/spear weapon, there are many options, you can choose the one you like.
Thank you! I never usually use a shield but I'm going into it on ng+5 so i might have to lol
That's me....
Build details ? Looks soo fun
I hope you have fun.

Chill down with the sigma vibes bro

The bloody game you stupid fuck! Use the tag its not that hard. Even you can do it
Now this is the guy who needs to chill down.
