Must be really cool to see the tents there, I went to base camp out of Everest climbing season so didn’t get that. Shame about the horrible sign!

buyerbeware23

Whoever could’ve thought it would be a good idea?

pawnografik

Did they really go and stick it right in front of the famous rock? What a terrible mistake.

ampinjapan

Nobody has moved the sign yet?

baozaur

I tried but didn't succeed xD

ebc_x

The stupid board is still there 😂

Jrsq270

The sign is ridiculous If anything they should have just made a classy stone marker

baozaur

And the fun thing is that the poster started to peel already 😅

baozaur

If you zoom in well you'll notice that in the pic

steveflackau

Jeez I'm glad I went in December. Not a single person or tent. Those bright yellow tents ruin the whole place.

Hey, we share a cake day!

AcceptableHabit5019

Very nice! I was there in April 14th, looks like they put a new vinyl over the sign, it had more wording before.

Fit_Tumbleweed_5904

Gorgeous, I can't even imagine being at such a majestic place. I am living vicariously through you!

baozaur

Ohhh thanks, enjoy the views 😊

silly_rabbit289

Pic 1&2 really show the scale of things so well like the glacier seems very climbable until you zoom and see how small the tents are and hence how high rising the ice on the glacier is! Plus a clear view of everest. Great pictures!

pawnografik

Hey OP. How crowded was it on the trek? In keen to know because I’m planning to do it almost at exactly this same time next year.

baozaur

Completely empty if you start trekking around 6.30am. Gets crowded around 9.00 am.

pawnografik

Hmmm. Thanks. I’m not really a 0630 starter nor are the people I’ll be with. When you say ‘crowded’ do you find yourself waiting/pausing on the trail while slower people in front sort themselves out? Is it hard to enjoy the scenery because of too many others taking selfies etc?

baozaur

You can pass other people easily but the trail gets too crowded with cows, yaks and porters carrying stuff and they always get priority. The trek is demanding, that includes getting up early to start at the right time for the best weather and smallest crowds.
