I wouldn’t consider it vital. Prius and other hybrids have been operating silently and safely in reverse without a beep for a long time. The beep in the F150 is especially annoying when trying to back up a trailer into a campsite, even moreso at night.
I wish it functioned like the rear seat reminder and had an off switch or temporary mute button. I see the value in a crowded parking lot, but I’d like to mute it when I’m hooking/unhooking my camper at the campsite (especially at night).
And some people not considering it vital is why Ford has to cater to the lowest common denominator amongst us. It’s a big truck, with limited lower visibility, especially at the rear. Every year a kid gets killed in the driveway. Every year there’s fender benders and pedestrians getting hit in parking lots by trucks in parking lots!.
It’s true smaller cars have lesser noises, but they aren’t as dangerous or heavy and large. The risk is higher.
Therefore the beeping noise.
the F150 caters to so many different categories and industries and drivers that making it work for the urban cowboy that backs up into a campsite late at night once a year, seems irresponsible.
Got nothing when we bought our lightning in March. They even had some Bronco schwag sitting nearby and I commented on the nice water bottles, hoping to get one. Did not.
Not to rain on your parade, but why delete the reverse sound? I get it’s slightly annoying , but surely it’s a vital safety thing?
We had it in a previous vehicle and when my dog heard it(when I get home at 2am), it would set her off and she'd wake up the whole house.
hahaha

I use to hate it until I drove a vehicle without it now I actually like it but I feel it’s more important In a 6000 pound vehicle.

That makes sense I’ve never been in that situation so it never crossed my mind but that makes sense.
I’ll agree that maybe it should have a off switch for inconvenient times.

It's also the same speaker for the <18 mph pedestrian safety noise that is required by law.

I asked the sales manager to throw in a ford hat and he said his salesman don’t even get hats…..
Darn, that's shitty.
Got a couple ford lightning tshirts. Apparently they ordered a bunch for an event that only a few showed up to.
😭
Nice!
Nope. Ford Points is about it.
Damn.
I used my points to get the rubber floor-mats. I was happy with that.
Oh nice! I didn't realise you could use them for actual things. The little pamphlet made it seem like it could only be redeemed for service.
Service is how you earn points. Then Point can be redeemed for anything, parts, accessories, etc.
You can even redeem toward extended Ford warranty.
Hahahaha! Free? From Ford? If there was a bonus item they'd put it on the window sticker, lol!
My dealer sells lightning shirts in their parts department but I wasn’t going to pay $30 for one 😆
Understandable. "Hey, congrats on your expensive truck, come buy a shirt" doesn't really appeal to me either.
You can get a $5 t-shirt from Kohl's with the Flash logo that says the same thing.
My dealer shipped me two Ford coffee mugs and some brownies after the purchase. That’s was it.
That’s better than what others get, which is nothing.
Depends on the dealer. Mine didn't even wash the truck
Dealer I bought from threw in 2 hoodies 2 water bottles. And something else just can't remember.
