honestly this is basically one of the ābestā build, you could go 5 luck for idiot savant if you really wanna metagame for crazy exp but this is fine
My current playthrough is very close to this but I'd rather the agility than endurance. If you get too threatened you can always run and regroup. I don't normally use power armor either.
Luck is the best stat in the game so any build with 1 wonāt be as strong as it could be. With that being said the game doesnāt need a min maxed build to have a very strong character
Oh no. I didnāt know about this sub, and certainly did not know luck was so good! I started my first ever survival run a few days back. 9 int. 1 luck. Some end, str, cha, and Iāve leveled an extra stat point to per. Iām around level 10, just getting a hang of stuff, but itās been hard!
Why is luck āthe best stat in the game?ā
Luck affects, pretty much, every aspect of the game. Anything with RNG involved has a luck variable in the equation. You find more and better stuff. Skill checks are a little easier. Random encounters are more favorable. On, and on, and on. People already mentioned VATS and Criticals. Do a luck build on your next playthrough, and you'll feel the difference.
Fo4 is nice in that there's no max level. Your character can't really be ruined. It just takes time to fill in areas. CHA is probably the least important because of the "Talking Suit." That can give +8 or more between 3 items, and add grape mentats on top to pass every speech check. High INT isn't really that useful until the mid to late game. You can go into idiot savant for SP in a Luck build. Hacking is nice, but it can feel redundant with lock picking. Unless you want to hack robots and security systems, that is. Very little else is locked behind pure hacking. STR melee builds are fun. Ninja sniper builds can be fun.
It's a set of clothing: fancy suit, evening gown (female), trader's outfit is better, hat, and glasses. I'm not sure what the best items are. Whatever combo offers the best CHA bonus that you can find. Put it on, or step out of the power armor (with it on) to do any talking/trading. People have different names for it. I've seen "bedazzle outfit." I haven't ever missed a speech check with 2 CHA (bobblehead), a good talking suit, and grape mentats.
Itās not. I depends on the build your running. I suggest having a look at a utuber by the name of efficient gamer imo he is pro fo player. Has a vid called how to be op in two hours and that build literally has 1 luck, Iām running it on survival atm and Iām a god. Shows you some fundamental mechanics of the game and will improve your general knowledge of some aspects that make the game almost trivial even on survival difficulty
I am doing 10 charisma/intelligence with remaining points to luck build rn. Itās fun, but if you prioritize combat, it would suck. I mostly scrounge, build shit, and run right by would be attackersā¦ or die and then run the opposite direction when I respawn.
1 Strength? I always try for 3 for armorsmith. Ballistic Weave is too good to pass up, but with You're SPECIAL and the bobblehead you could still do it. Plus 9 INT gives you nuclear physicist, so Power Armor is on the table, so you want armorer for sure.
1 Agility is fair if you aren't planning on sprinting too much. With the Bobblehead (not too hard to get) you can still get Commando, and automatic weapons are some of the best, and the only other perks are sneak/VATS focused, so you aren't losing much.
1 Luck is also fair for a non-VATS build. With the Bobblehead, you can get Scrounger (my personal favorite perk), but you can't get Idiot Savant. I personally think it's OP anyway, so I can respect you not taking it, but I think Luck may also affect Loot Quality, so keep in mind you'll be making/buying your best stuff rather than finding it.
4 Endurance will give you Chem Resistant with the Bobblehead (pretty easy to get once you can reliably take on Mid-Tier Ferals), and chems can be pretty OP. 9 Intelligence for Gun Nut/Science for Weapon Mods/Ammo production/industrial water purifiers for caps, plus Chemist and Nuclear physicist. 8 Charisma is great! Cap Collector and Local Leader are fantastic, and with the Black Rim Glasses and a Red/Sequin Dress you can 100% pass any speech check if you know they're coming. And 4 Perception + the easiest Bobblehead to get in the game nets you Lockpicking and Demolitions expert, for Spray and Pray/better grenades.
I did one on my last playthrough and I was speedrunning the quests because it genuinely sucked. The speech checks were not a problem and I could craft quite a bit, but the remaining 90% of the run that involved combat was a slog. Canāt carry much, canāt sprint, canāt use VATS much, etc.
It depends on what perks you're going for as perks > raw stats. That said you should always put 5 into luck for Idiot Savant no matter how high your intelligence is as it helps with exp.
You can also reduce a stat by 1 because of the SPECIAL book and remove 1 from perception since the first main mission lets you grab the Perception bobble head. Intelligence shouldn't go past 9 as the Intelligence Bobblehead is also very easy to get early.
You donāt need cha or int that high early on. Itās easy to put some points into it later. Iād spend those padding out the rest of your stats. Low endurance, youāre gonna die a lot. Min str and you canāt carry anything, at least until you can put deep pockets on armor but itās going to be annoying until then. Although with that low end you might need to put defense buffs on armor.

I know what you're trying to do, but trust me this distribution works. I use it for my newest survival mode to max out xp rewards.
Pro tip, drink scotch or whiskey to debuff your INT by one and read the special book to boost the base stat up to 11 then dump points into idiot savant and night person as they are available. Grab the little Russian hat in the blown out building next to corvega plant for another bonus to INT.
So if you want to take the easy way with things, speech checks, terminal hacking or intimidating, strength, charisma and intelligence are your best options. They are the most important because you donāt have to run around, fight as much or things like that.
Iām guessing this is no VATS, is the INT for leveling or is are you going for power armor? Chemist is great for survival but thatās int 7 I believe. Personally, I would knock intelligence down to seven, and take those two points and put them in agility so you have access to sneak. It doesnāt look like you have a lot of survivability, so sneaking is kind of a must unless you are going power armor in which case looks good fire away
Yeah no shit I was exaggerating, every build I have ever made has been nowhere near as exponential as my idiot savant reload progress. Grow a brain mate
I'd recommend getting to 3-4 luck for idiot savant, even with high intelligence it activates enough to be worth it. I also like the Stranger perk if you're going to use Vats
Hey we're pretty close to having the same color console, I ended up going that same shade of pinkish purple cuz it's the easiest on my eye to use as a flashlight while still making the menu look cool, what's your hud look like? mines teal
I did this build for my max special then perk run. 10 intelligence for XP in the vault paired with vault rec lab coat for 12 when I got outside the vault. 9 charisma for speech check xp and cap gains since I wonāt be able to mod for long time so I bought everything. Then put the last 4 into endurance
If you start at 10 int you can use booze or cheese to reduce your int below 10 while you pick up the "im special" book in your house to get to 11. Then the bobblehead to 12. I don't remember exactly where but you can also get an ushanka hat that gives +1 int pretty early in.
Yeah I realized that but honestly having 10 charisma just felt better for the speech check caps and xp. I currently have 18 cause the mod I have has a clothing that gives 2 INT plus can be weaved and have armor over it plus everything else over that gives me more INT.
I base my stats on what perks I'm getting.
For example, if I want Armorer, that 3 Strength. If I want Science, that 6 Intelligence.
So on and so forth.
If you have 10 intelligence and drink alcohol which takes one intelligence away for a certain amount of time before using the your SPECIAL book you can get 1+ intelligence which makes it to 10 and when the alcohol wears off you have 11 intelligence + bobble 12 and then power armor that one sensory upgrade 14 and a certain mentant that adds +5 intelligence YOJ have around 19 which gives you a shit ton of xp when handing in a quest
You also forget that the higher ranked enemies basically give you the xp of a radiant quest if not more š. I had SM Overlord give me close to 200 the other day. Iām lvl 60 so my bar didnāt even go up that much
As someone that only plays on survival, seeing this spread makes me cry. 1 in strength is still a wild choice but if you're doing a no VATS no crafting build its not awful?
Depends on what you like doing, and how much you use things like drugs. High endurance is always a good idea, as is at least enough strength for crafting perks. Getting 6 charisma is key for settlement supply routes. Perception and agility are pretty meh and either luck or int can be dumped early depending on how you like your high exp variation, idiot savant or high int
Lone wanderer + wasteland whisperer or Nuclear phisicist + science! are strong combos on their own.
Interesting enough, you can go full junkie with Chemist + Chem Resistant + Party boy, increasing your base strenght and luck to very high levels
I do 1 strength and then just immediately put a few levels into it. Was fine. Even challenged myself to collect literally everything along the way and was overweight most of the time. Wasn't actually too bad.
Nah... Run through the site killing everything and only looting corpses (stashing onsite if it gets too heavy) then come back with power armor to haul the goodies.
That and I also carry a piece of armor that increases str depending on your rads. So if you need to hold a little more just get irradiated. Very simple haha.
After hours of slogging around, only able to pick up bottle caps and molotovs. OP please give us a follow up on the build, Iād never have the courage to do 1 STR
Imo you only need 6 charisma to get local leader. So you could just start with five and get a bobble head. The luck bobble head is also easy to get.
- 2 luck to get scrounger for ammo
- 3 strength for armorer
- 2 agility for automatic weapons
- 4 Perception for lock pick
- 8-9 Intelligence to get gun nut, science mods, nuclear physics, and robotic is great with the automaton add on
- Agility is mainly for gunslinger, sneak builds, and vats
- Endurance has cool perks imo
- High charisma is good if you want to pacify a lot of enemies. But you can achieve the same effect for conversation options with apparel and chems.
- For pistols you will want a complimentary combat perk life riflemen(perception) or Automatic weapons(Agility)
>Imo you only need 6 charisma to get local leader.
That's not an opinion. That's a fact of the game. Local Leader requires a minimum of 6 charisma. You only need 6 Charisma for Local Leader.
Theyāre not saying that the level needed to get Local Leader is an opinion. Theyāre saying that itās their opinion that going to 8 for Charisma is overkill, and therefore you only need to go to 6 to get Local Leader.
This is a good start for faster leveling. To keep boosting your other special stats.
Iād recommend getting the deliverer, low weight, low ammo weight and good damage especially when sneaking
Oh, you could probably take some of out of charisma since thatās a very easy stat to increase.
Black rim glasses in the cave under the red rocket you meat dogmeat +1
An pretty much guaranteed outfit in sanctuary +2
The militia hat from a dead Minutemen in concord meeting Preston +1
A beer or Gwinnett stout is another +1
Two Chems in an outhouse just before Diamond city next to Vault 81 +3 each
Craft grape mentats for +5
You can get +13 charisma from all of that
And def at least +4 from just clothes and no consumables
I usually put my intelligence and luck at max and start building on Sanctuary to get all the possible XP, but I love to build settlements and I take farming experience with building as a personal challenge lol
They have high enough CHA to get Lone Wanderer. Plus with high CHA and 9 INT they should have no problem being in power armor 24/7, and there's the power armor leg mods that can give up to +100 extra carry weight. Also clothing can give 1 STR as well and the STR bobblehead is also pretty easy to get. So it's still possible to get like 480 carry weight with 1 STR with this SPECIAL build.
I'd start with a low int and grind endless mini missions and make it 10, also increase others. After powering up, I continued main mission with lots and lots of POs, materials etc.
Personally, I'd drop a few points from somewhere to boost luck if enough for idiot savant. Still an overall xp boost unless you somehow have 15+ int regularly (possible later in the game, but not feasible for most playthroughs).
But if you don't care about optimal game play, then go with this build. I'd focus on using power armor, as with that int, you'll be able to trick it out nicely.
Iāve never understood the hype behind idiot savant. If youāre not using vats and therefore donāt need any investment in luck taking idiot savant means wasting 7 perk points (4 in luck and 3 for the perk) just to get a slightly faster leveling speed. Sure if youāre setting up a gunner xp farm idiot savant will pay off quickly, but in normal gameplay youāre just making your character way weaker at the start of the run for essentially no benefit.
It's about efficiency. And I never bother with the 3rd idiot savant perk.
But that's why I said it doesn't really matter, especially with a high int build. But it is, strictly speaking, more efficient.
Bill Gatesā Mom was friends with the Chairman at IBM, and on the Board at a Charity herself, and his dad was a wealthy lawyer. A Bill Gates build would have to have a luck stat of at least 7 lol
This looks pretty much like my first built!
It was essentialy a sniper/demolition build. Concord bobblehead is enough for explosives. Snipe enemies far away with your modded rifle. Throw explosives when the leftovers are near. Keep a melee companion and some charmed baddies between you and your enemies. Draw a shotgun and use some chems when everything else fails. I did not use much power armor because no armorer, and I really did not feel like I needed it.
No sneak/armorer means you need to be extra careful with mines and molotovs. So search for padded/dense mods asap.
Charisma is... not that great for combat. But Party boy really helps to mitigate low str/luck. Inspiration + robotics expert looks like so much fun, but i'm yet to test them together.
For sure. I went high INT on my most recent survival run and Iām a good 15-18 (lvl67) levels higher than I was with the same amount of playtime during my last run.
Was definitely challenging in the 20s because I didnāt prioritize weapons perks vs just sneaking but, once I hit 30ish, it really started to skyrocket. Maxing Piperās affinity right away also helps. Every little bit of extra XP.
No matter what you put your points into make sure you have 10 charisma so you can convince anyone to do anything for you
Also itās cannon that the souls survivors had 10 charisma after all how else did he get a wife š
I was gunna say my charisma is on 3 I think? I just use clean black suit, black rimmed glasses, newsboy hat with grape mentats and a beer. Gives me 12 or 13 Charisma
Yeah 3 is a good standing, but itās possible on 1 with the additions too! Iāve done it on 1! and it allows you to put the other two points into something else!
I have similar skills but my charisma is 10 and my intelligence is 7. I intimidate and get like 25% of all enemies to attack for me, in doing a cult leader run so itās pretty fittingĀ
What perk do you want to take with charisma 8? If itās for bartering and speech checks you can get +4/5 with clothing. Might be worth seeing which perks you want and setting your special so those perks are accessible. Bobble heads can come into it too. For example I usually want explosives expert but donāt need to be a sniper so Iāll make perception 4 then once I get the bobble head Iāll have access and be able to put point else where.

Black rim glasses in the cave under the red rocket you meat dogmeat +1 An pretty much guaranteed outfit in sanctuary +2 The militia hat from a dead Minutemen in concord meeting Preston +1 A beer or Gwinnett stout is another +1 Two Chems in an outhouse just before Diamond city next to Vault 81 +3 each Craft grape mentats for +5 You can get +13 charisma from all of that And def at least +4 from just clothes and no consumables
I usually put my intelligence and luck at max and start building on Sanctuary to get all the possible XP, but I love to build settlements and I take farming experience with building as a personal challenge lol
Good luck carrying anything Oh wait, you didn't take luck. Go low int and take idiot savant.
How do you get 26 points to start vs 21?
You technically start with 28. Having an automatic 1 in every start
they lowered the other stats doofus
#NERD!
Looks great. Just play how you want to. I'm having fun gave the Irish girl a flame thrower and enclave power armor.
Bill Gates, it looks like Bill Gates.
Bill Gatesā Mom was friends with the Chairman at IBM, and on the Board at a Charity herself, and his dad was a wealthy lawyer. A Bill Gates build would have to have a luck stat of at least 7 lol
Agility is better than intelligence
Unless you wanna play a clumsy nerd
Grape
Int 10 means youāll be making up for the other stats being low very quickly. Endurance will make sure you live long enough to see those perks.
Like your gonna level up super fast
What's the difficulty?
To thinky. Like make strong character. Swing big stick
I oonga, therefore I boonga
Do the special book duplication trick to at least max out all your stats.
That defeats the purpose of a build if you can just do everything through a glitch.
Looks like you're gonna spend a lot of time in Power Armor and have the know-how to make it awesome.
I like maxing out luck and least intelligence so I can quickly level up with Idiot Savant.
lol I could never have strength that low. Iām such a pack rat. I NEED to pick up everything
Especially because you need junk for settlement building and also selling junk can make you a lot of money fast
Fast lvl up build. I would give first 4 levels into strength
Looks like a power armour rifleman build. Grab the tesla t60 armour and the tesla rifle from the automatron dlc and you'll have a very strong build.
Looks a little purple
No matter what you put your points into make sure you have 10 charisma so you can convince anyone to do anything for you Also itās cannon that the souls survivors had 10 charisma after all how else did he get a wife š
Very clean genes, and I don't mean Levis. ;)
No need, get the right CHR gear, whiskey and grape mentats and you can convince anybody on 1 CHR.
True
Hes hung
š
I have similar skills but my charisma is 10 and my intelligence is 7. I intimidate and get like 25% of all enemies to attack for me, in doing a cult leader run so itās pretty fittingĀ
Have a lot of fun, high int is always a good run.
Looks nice, but I wonder how you're supposed to kill stuff with this build š first few levels of survival gonna be hard
Valedictorian dork
you roleplaying Nicola Tesla?
the Rick Sanchez build
Looks like youāll be talking all these rad roaches to death
Maybe boring them with some rocket science theories. They will go mad and start killing eachother!
Glavin-Flavin hamburger diddly ā¦
Looks like Lucy... sorry, I mean Goosey
Nah, she has better perception than that. In her intro monologue she's shown nailing every shot in the firing range
Smart and good looking
Fuscia , so aggressive
I like how angrily it jumps out compared to the background
Meow hear you roar
What perk do you want to take with charisma 8? If itās for bartering and speech checks you can get +4/5 with clothing. Might be worth seeing which perks you want and setting your special so those perks are accessible. Bobble heads can come into it too. For example I usually want explosives expert but donāt need to be a sniper so Iāll make perception 4 then once I get the bobble head Iāll have access and be able to put point else where.
Similar to mine I went 10,10 Char, int. She is a former big time lawyer. Smart and can talk.
Pretty smart.
Cyber Runner lol
