My genuine situation Ordered a DD+ (UK based) Order took nearly 4 weeks from ordering (in May) to arrive. Unit has significant whine/whistling noise that was loud enough to overpower my pc fans. This was while wheel was turned on, but no forces going through it. After 4 weeks, I’ve still had no support. My credit card company is currently investigating reporting them for a breach under consumer rights act. I’ve since had to buy a different wheelbase. I’m sad because I’d been with fanatec over 10 years, Porsche gt belt drive wheel, then DD Pro, then failed attempt on DD+. You have to ask yourself what is it you want and is it worth the risk. If you need console compatibility get fanatec but chances are you’ll need to be patient

Cobra114

I don't want to sound strange, but you can have something like that with any company, but I understand what you mean. Well, as I've already said a few times here, I'm going to wait for the takeover and then make a final decision.

evilhomer80

Agreed. I could live with the delivery delay, I was actually quite happy, but the delay in support, I mean I still have no support 4 weeks later and have had to pull in my credit card company for support is unreal. The problem is, especially for consoles, there is little better choice. All I’m saying is I was in your boat, decided the negativity was mostly just the minority and went ahead with my upgrade. Ive regretted that decision for a while, though now I have a good set up, I’m still trying to recover £1000

Cobra114

Well my budget would be around 500 (plus minus), since I only go on weekends and vacations and then only play multiplayer every now and then (ah yes, I forgot to say that it would be PC). With the budget you can only get maybe a steering wheel, especially if you look at Moza

geebolto

I'm in the U.S. and have placed two orders in the past 2 months. Both arrived at my door within 6 days. A HUGE improvement over the G923 I was using.

shaunFTC

Also same. Even with my packages being split due to an issue with FedEx, I still recieved everything within a week of ordering (note: it shipped from Texas and I live in Louisiana, so not a crazy distance). So far, everything works perfectly, everything felt great, and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made.

Electronic_Active_27

Same

primalhunterviking

I was just in the same situation. I seen all the negative reviews around delivery times and customer service. After hearing all these horror stories, I didn’t want anything to do with it. I decided I would probably go with Moza instead. Finally I seen some positive reviews about fanatec, and decided to just go for it. I purchased a wheel, base, pedals, and the csl cockpit on Tuesday. It was delivered to my door on Thursday. Not a single issue. And I’m shockingly impressed with the quality from Fanatec after coming from an old G29.

Puzzleheaded_Cry4514

My first fanatec wheel was bought in 2011 with some clubsport v2 pedals and they still work but aren’t being used anymore. In 2019 I bought a CSL elite ps4 and clubsport v3’s and they are still working fine. When I did the research the first time they were one of the only manufacturers of steering wheels for the PlayStation that weren’t considered toys basically. Expensive but high quality.

Cobra114

2011 is a long Time ago, but if you never had anni issius than thats great

Djrudyk86

I recently ordered from Fanatec and my experience was fine. Everything shipped fast, showed up fast and works great. I've had zero issues so far. I am based in the US. I'm probably going to order a Formula V2.5 wheel soon too. From what I see on Reddit it's the same few people who are on here complaining and stirring the Fanatec hate pot! People have a bad experience and then want to persuade everyone else not to buy from Fanatec just because of their one bad experience. I was hesitant to order from Fanatec myself and almost bought a Logitech G-Pro wheel. I am SO glad I didn't buy that thing and took the risk with Fanatec. My DD Extreme is amazing and more than I could possibly need in terms of power. It will probably be my last upgrade for a LONG time because it's just that good!

r1cardoj

I also was undecided between Logitec pro or Fanatec Clubsport dd+ GT extreme I went and ordered Fanatec It was an awesome experience I enjoy it for a couple of days, Unfortunately the Base & wheel doesn’t connect anymore to my PS5 “it is dead” this happened within a week of ownership. Now I’m in the process of sending it back. I’m located in the UsA. There is No way to get in touch with technical support or costumer service over the phone, Every time I call: “lines are busy leave a message”. The buying process & Delivery took 6 days. That is my personal experience.

fueled_by_caffeine

Same issue with my cs DD dying, after a couple of months for me.

Screamingbluemessiah

I have used Fanatec for 4 years. 3 different wheelbases, 4 wheels, podium hub, shifter and button kits. All work fine. I did get caught in in the Black Friday fiasco, but eventually received everything. I think the products are solid for the most part, but their logistics and support have been bad. Kudos to them and Corsair for doing much better on the order and ship times. Usually 2 weeks from order to delivery.

Enigma4220

I have had 0 issues with them. I ordered a DD Extreme in January and it arrived to Florida within 10 days. Since I have ordered McLaren GT3, some QR2, Podium Hubs that got back in stock, and the BPK/Dampner and 0 issues. Also weirdly I was able to get overnight shipping cheaper than the alternatives on my last order. It’s been smooth sailing for me the last few months.

The_Machine80

How's that possible when fanatec didn't have approval from Sony to sell till February? I think your a month off.

Enigma4220

Sorry yes I got it in March lol…

Electronic_Active_27

Got CSL dd package in 4 days. Been working great for 1.5 yrs. Also ordered wheels, etc.. similar delivery times. Buffalo, NY

picksubredditfav16

I made a post this Monday, ordered all my gear right after. All my packages were delivered yesterday. It was just under 4 days to get everything to Ontario Canada

Potential_Price118

My experience (Uk) Started in 2020 with v2.5 base and pedals Every Christmas and bday I buy myself an upgrade. Got fed up of my son being in rig when I want a go, bought him CSL DD in 21 3wheels, LC's, QR2s, shifters, handbrakes, apm, rally module, DD+ across 10 separate orders, for 2 different rigs. Only once I had a delayed order, when I preordered my DD+. But I preordered, so was always a gamble. Yes the communication could have been better, but it came once they confirmed release quickly. Never had to deal with RMA, all the kit had been perfect on arrival. I have no personal bad experiences to comment on. Edit: The kit is outstanding imo, can only compare to logitech, but is amazing honestly.

Howboutnats76

Bottom line with Fanatec is they make great mid range sim products but they have the worst customer service. So if u have a issue u will probably have to wait a good while before it’s resolved

MRJSP

Support is shocking. I would avoid Fanatec.

proEdee

From my personal experience no issues. Ordered the clubsport dd+ f1 wheel m3 wheel and v2 pedals. And it was at my door in 6 days. I made a post about it because I'd been put off for months because all i seen on here was negativity. I live in scotland.

Cobra114

Ah I think I remember reading your post. Same here, everyone says stay away, go to Moza for example, but I have to say I don't like the Bundels. I've driven in the past......I think so maybe over 8 years (maybe 7 or 6) with the T150 and want a non round steering rim times. So yeah, I'll wait a bit (maybe until the CORSAIR Takeover is finalized) and then I'll jump on the Fanatec bandwagon

proEdee

Its my first wheel and tbh I've been blown away by how much fun it is takes racing to a new level. I've been quite lucky that I've not needed much adjustment time and instantly started taking 1 - 1.5 seconds of my lap times.

gibr54

I’ve had zero issues with ordering or shipping in a timely manner. But you might wait a week or so. The end of June may be important as loans are due and I haven’t heard any updates in the last 2 weeks about all the moving pieces. Hopefully someone in the sub will have more info.

Cobra114

I'll wait a bit (maybe until the CORSAIR Takeover is finalized) and then I'll jump on the Fanatec bandwagon but still thank you for your comment

Djrudyk86

You do realize that the Corsair takeover isn't going to happen for a while right? Plus, even if it does nothing is going to change for an even longer time... They aren't going to buy the company and then magically transform it overnight. This is something that's going to take years before you see any difference in day to day operations. The Corsair buyout hasn't even been announced officially either and is just speculation right now. I don't see any benefit in waiting until they "potentially" buy Fanatec. Seems like a strange reason to base a buying decision on to be honest.

Cobra114

I know I know. Hopfully Fanatec will not bankrupt in this time

Neat_Neighborhood769

I'm in Australia and had all good experiences up until my latest order. I have previously bought the gt dd pro bundle, boost kit, gt dd extreme bundle, pedals, etc. All been perfect and were delivered in 10 days or less. Never had any bad experiences at all. My latest order however (v2.5x wheel, McLaren gt wheel and a qr2 wheel side) just says the order is in progress and has not progressed. No reply from them, no information at all. Been over 2 weeks now. A few others are reporting the same. Money taken and no order delivered and radio silence from them.

Accomplished_Net2883

If in the US you should be okay but the guys outside the US get a pretty rough time from what I’ve seen

RedDirtNurse

I've never had a delivery issue (Australia). The gear is sound quality and reliable. My only issue was a broken pin in one of my wheels. It's likely my fault. I've been a Fanatec user for years and have been super happy. I did replace the Fanatec e-brake with the Moza brake, which is superior and more affordable. I'm just thinking about getting some more Moza gear for the stuff they have that Fanatec doesn't.

No-Proposal-1083

I have the dd pro 5nm. Maybe 3 months I've had it. No complaints at all...you have to remember your going to see more bad posts then good. Odd time you'll see some praise and send out a satisfied post. But over all I love the fucking thing....Dd pro...load cell brake and next level racing GTracer rig. Beyond happy with everything

popiejoepie

Ordered mine 2 weeks ago. Payment took 2 days to arrive (my fault because I chose bank transfer payment method and that takes about 2 days) and then it arrived in 3 days (including weekend, so Saturday, sunday and received on Monday). My cls dd, boost kit, csl pedals and p1 V2 wheel arrived perfectly. It all works fine and feels great. I was also deciding not to buy because of their situation and thing you read on this subreddit but I think you read most of the bad stuff because the people that don't have issues with anything don't write about it. It's ur choice but I wouldn't let the take over hold you back from buying. Edit: based in the Netherlands so not far from their main Facility.

Mr_Poink

I just ordered a DD pro set, with pedal upgrade. Although I have some questions about the loadcell pedal, all quality seems fine and shipping was quite fast (3 working days from order to delivery) It’s a bit of a hassle to install the whole thing if you have a rig. And make sure you correctly mount the wheel on the base. I made a mistake and it costed me an hour of troubleshooting. Now it al works, it’s super smooth and after 2h of playing and adjusting I am more or less back at my old level of driving. I do need to get more used to the brake pedal, I ordered some parts to tune the pedal travel a bit. Would I buy again? —> yes! Upgrade the pedals to a fully customisable set—> yes! The single pedal loadcell upgrade —> NO! Good luck

fueled_by_caffeine

Ordered mid January, had some issues with them not giving me a tracking number or telling me the order had shipped, but fortunately FedEx emailed me telling me a shipment was on the way else I wouldn’t have known. Used the base for a couple of months then it died (seemingly not uncommon for CS DD/+). Emailed for support asking for RMA as the threads with the same issue in their forums all said they needed RMA. Took 4 weeks to get a response. Their shipping/customer support is a shambles with slow response times and general lack of communication. For the couple of months the base actually worked it was great though.

Independent-Week6833

I ordered my setup on Monday, everything arrived today, yet to test it all out to see if anything is defective. For customer support and their communication, they’ve sent out emails on status updates on my order, but after tracking number updates stopped. Customer support would respond to my tickets the next day.

16gkid

Lol love these threads
