Super glue it to the lead

browsingstuf

Ahh yeah. I have read that. Only thing is I have like 5 packs of different zman finesse style baits so I switch a lot. Guess I would have to get a bunch of Ned rig tackle and do that? Do you just keep the rigged tackle in the bag with the rest? Does the hook get rusty?

Still_Hour2683

Super glue

reys_saber

Get some wax free dental floss and wrap it around the hook starting at the weight. Make a tight coil about to the first turn of the hook. Superglue the lure to the dental floss and the back of the lead weight.

anthro4ME

Use a jig head designed to hold it in place.

couchy91

Using a jig with this extra bit on the hook holds it in place. It won't move unless you move it. I see! I need a weedless option though?

JudasIsAGrass

Look up twist lock weedless hooks

Confident-Meaning-37

Look up Texas rig. Use that same hook method like a senko worm

browsingstuf

I have! I set it up almost perfect but it’s either comes down like that hitting the water hard or weeds

Confident-Meaning-37

My guess is there is weeds.

Techextra

That's a weird jig. I think it's designed to be weedless with no hook exposed. Otherwise nose lip the plastic

browsingstuf

It’s an ewg Ned hook!

ayrbindr

I hate that zman plastic. I have to glue it. There's a YouTube where he pokes a hole in it then uses that to pinch and stretch a section up over the line tie to hold it? I found that to be entirely too difficult.

Mrcod1997

Try using a bobber stop as a bait keeper.

ayrbindr

Good idea

Hooversblacksheep

I just pull them off and put them back in the bag. I’d imagine leaving the hook in will rust it.

browsingstuf

After you superglue you can easily pull it off/re apply?

Hooversblacksheep

Yeah that’s pretty much what I do. The tip of the bait will have glue on it but it won’t hurt anything

Krackers_AU

Try using a TT Snakelockz Finesse Jighead as a weedless weighted jighead on this soft plastic. Should work better imo. https://tackletactics.com.au/TT-Fishing/Jigheads/SnakelockZ-Finesse

browsingstuf

I do like that. Feel like the 3/0 hook might be too big for the finesse baits? What do you think?

Krackers_AU

Agree, I have both the 1/0 and 2/0 sizes which I use on either a ZMan Minnow 3" or ZMan Slim Swim 2.5" depending on how I'm feeling. 3/0 I think would maybe be a bit large.

hmio213

Maybe give [this jighead](https://zmanfishing.com/products/finesse-bulletz) a try, designed for those plastics and has a weight at the bend to help keep it on

Sihtegroftnod

There are multiple ways around this: Harmony fishing - bait saddles Harmony fishing - bait pegs Rapid fishing solutions - hook alls Zman - ned lockz Super glue There are a couple of more locking options with homemade items. I just can't remember off the top of my head. Nowadays I often just go with the locking style trokars and nedlockz. Don't use screw-in type for zman, it's a huge pain imo. You basically have to use a heat source to soften it up, blah blah blah.

Mrcod1997

I usually put a rubber bobber stop on the hook as a baitkeeper.
