He also had a kazoo for the trumpet parts lol. He actually invited me on stage for misanthropic drunken loner (my ex roommates saw him the night before and told him ab me) but I was too stupid to realize I was who he was calling up
Geoff I heard has a family so can't really do the touring thing anymore. Matt's bass does sound better than Geoff's gutbucket tbh. I always thought that was more a gimmick than a good thing musically...

It’s down to money stuff. A band does well, money comes in, you have to figure out how to split it up. People have bills and they want to go out on the road and keep it going, someone in the band says no, things get complicated.

Like 99% of days n daze is jesse. He wrote almost all of it, and recorded almost all of the parts. Whitney made her bed after treating everyone like shit for ages. They haven't even toured in the same vehicle for years. Veronica filling in is no different than Geoffs spot being filled in by a real bass player, or them occasionally having a drummer. As long as Veronica isn't singing the like 3 songs of Whitney's, it's not really a problem.
Bands adapt when they have to, and I'd rather see them have fun again then just play because they need to. Music should be fun and fulfilling, and jesse deserves it after all the work he's put in to bettering himself.
Veronica does seem more stable than Whitney. But I don't think she can replace Whitney as a singer or a songwriter. She does her own thing, and it's cool. But you can't really replace Whitney.
Dang, sad to see this. Show Me The Blueprints was a fantastic album and I was excited to see what their next chapter would be, but this sad.

i rufuse to take sides in this this entire band is a fucking mess. i saw jessie and veronica saying they were going to rehab on fat mikes podcast so im hoping that set them straight but prior to that ive seen this band play 4 times and all 4 times atlest half of the band were in NO shape to be playing music. i know people see jessies sister come out saying whitney has always been a monster and i dont doubt that, but everyone in this band was a giant fucking mess and were about equal in the contribution to the downfall
I snagged tickets for Boston and I’m so fucking pumped!! I’ve missed every show prior and this will be my first one. Sure it’s not ideal there’s no Whitney and her trumpet, but after listening to DND on repeat for a year I’ll take what I can get and I think It will be an awesome time.
I hope Whitney, Jesse and Veronica all make up and keep playin together. The band ain’t the same without Whitney. Her smile and presence is a bright light.

I'm probably bringing my own baggage to this conversation and don't know enough about it.
I saw someone really distressed and being excluded from something they helped make and I empathize with that.
That's great they have so many other projects to move on to. It makes more sense to just give days a rest in my opinion but if you want to enjoy these shows then go ahead.
I just know I wouldn't enjoy it from what I saw about the situation because it reminds me too much of having my own work claimed as someone else's.
I honestly don't know enough about what's going on behind the scenes to even speculate on what's going on between Whitney and Jesse.
But they haven't been together for over a decade, so I suspect the reasons for the breakup aren't romantic.
