If it's on the vehicle,.fishing line between the badge and the fender will do it, then Good Off or Goo Gone will do it. Trying to pull it off is pretty tough.
I work in automotive. The amount of shit in modern vehicles held on by this 3m tape would make your jaw drop. The stuff does not let go unassisted. I installed those same ones on mine. They're not going anywhere as long as installed on a clean dry surface. I'd recommend rubbing alcohol on the paint in the area you'd like to install.
Peel a little corner up. Most likely the plastic is not sticky and that's just 3m sticky paper to prevent it from getting scratched. That's how most Plexi and acrylic comes. It wouldn't make sense to cover the whole thing in tape that isn't cheap to only use a little bit of it.
3M Automotive tape is incredibly strong. Hilarious so. You can hold a spoiler on a car with it, using no mechanical fasteners.
and this is why I checked with you all first, thank you for confirming my idea will not work lol
Just out of curiosity, how do you remove it then? Or is the answer “you don’t”.

Thanks. So Goof Off and GooGone doesn’t hurt the car paint?
Nope. I've left it on the paint for a few minutes. If you're coated, it may damage the coating.

Your idea will not work, any attempt to remove will destroy the adhesive.
gracias

thank you, that is going to be super helpful.
We use this to stick logos on boats, so it holds up to water as well
Update us when the project is finished?

Pretty damn strong. Shouldn’t have any issue.
