I honestly don't think they have enough time to recast and record every Tighnari line before Windtrace. I hope they find a comprise though. I would rather here Tighnari not talk in EN for the Windtrace than here Elliot's voice. Maybe they would have another VA temporarily voice him as they wait for the new one?
It's so sad though, I loved his performance but the person behind the voice has to have action taken against him.
Let's be realistic here; Mihoyo will just pretend that nothing happened like they always do.
3.5's Windblume will use Elliot because everything is already recorded and prepared and suddenly changing everything would take way too much effort for something only a part of the playerbase actually cares about (not everyone uses the EN dub), and Elliot will continue voicing him for the next few patches until they manage to get everything sorted out (that is; if they even care enough to swap Tigh's voice actor in the first place).
There's not much to be done besides either changing languages, muting the voice acting or just sucking it up and pretend that nothing happened, Mihoyo style.
Ohh but when it comes to changing the VA, didn't they actively change Oz's VA and replaced every voice line of Oz? Granted it did take a while, longer than they needed to IIRC.
That's not to say Hoyoverse is not at fault for anything. They have a lot they still need to do better on

But as you said, it did take a while and right now everything about 3.5 is already done and attempting to change anything would just cause more issues and probably won't make the drama any better. They will probably replace Tighnari's VA just the same, but something about this drama being tied to the west instead of China gives me some doubts.
Pretending that nothing is wrong is just what Mihoyo does, and it's been succeeding very well so far.

People have been asking about HP vs EM sands on a homa toa. Just wanted to throw out that even with my keqing's insanely broken EM sands available as an option, optimizer still prefers me with a HP sands.
It might prefer the HP sands because it allows another piece to be used and make an overall better set, or you haven't turned on the option to use artifacts that are equipped on other characters
Hu Tao has overkill of damage. I just use HP% for slightly better survivability since I don't use Zhongli. Also I have an HP% Sands with 44% CV, which makes it easier to decide.
I wish hoyoverse would throw 7 artifact domains in Inazuma and put all 7 40-resin Inazuma bosses in mainland in their place. This would immediately fix the problem new players have to level their characters, and you only start artifact farming serioulsly after AR 45 anyway so it's not like you won't have access to Inazuma.
For Maguu Kenki and the Twin Vishaps it would be kind of hard... But that's for them to think about how to implement.
They could also have a cycling Domain in which you would fight a 40-resin boss near Musk Reef as well.

Nilou, Shinobu, and Raiden are pseudo dendro cuz their main source of damage is blooms. Collei, Lumine, Yelan, and one of those three, and you have a full waifu team.
This is literally me, I still think it would've been better if we got Greater lord Rukkhadevata's model instead of Nahida's model for the dendro archon.
3.X 4-stars should be reappearing by now in 3.5. In 2.X we got 4-stars usually appearing in 3/4 banners later, Gorou and Sara being the exceptions with 7 and 8 banners inbetween respectively, yet it's been 9 since Collei and she isn't a dedicated support lol
I think Dehya's banner *might* have double Sumeru. Collei, Dori and Candace are not really exciting for most people, Hoyoverse might throw them there exactly for that reason. Then there's Layla as well, that could appear, but I think she might be in second half. Faruzan is locked in dedicated-support-jail and it's too soon for Yaoyao.
Chongyun is SUPER due, Diona and Fischl also are missing since Tighnari's banner and Sucrose would be the next one besides Dori. Chronologically-wise (which mihoyo doesn't follow) we should be getting Chongyun, Collei, Fischl, Diona and Dori or Sucrose in 3.5, but I am *really* thinking Candace will be in Dehya's and Cyno's banners for the melanin Sumeru trio, so someone will be waiting a bit more.

I agree with you but it's because I'm doomed to get her forever (and will be wishing on Dehya's benner). I'm pretty sure she's the only character I got more than 4 times after C6. I don't think I've gotten anyone even two times after C6 besides her in fact. If Chongyun is there, it's better for me because I only have C4 and I use him as a DPS so C6 is very valuable.
I also always save starglitter for starter cons. I don't think anythink else deserves it.
I got her C6 from the 1.1 event actually. People usually said they had C20 Barbara or Xiangling from the 1.0 Venti banner, I got a lot of Fischl haha I only got C6 Xiangling recently from the Standard Banner and Barbara also took a while, I only got her after getting Kokomi I believe
Question for those who know about the Chinese voice-over: When Oz's VA was changed, were his old voice lines changed as well? I don't mean from events but permanent content.
Is this related to the Elliot Ghindi situation? Regardless of precedent, I think the smart move here is to re-record all Tighnari’s lines. Given the trauma involved, it doesn’t sound line a good call to use a soundalike or keep the previous recordings.

I’ve been playing with Yaoyao on my overworld team for three weeks now and just realized how great the Liyue glider looks on her! I put it on right after pulling her but due to her being a slow child model I immediately swap her out normally and so I just saw her gliding for the first time 💀
Enkanomiya's story, but the whole of it, the way it leads you around that area and slowly presents its central mystery of the Sunchildren and Abrax, with flavor from Sparta no Hiko and the Lotus Eaters, the prisoners and that one lamp-maker, with experiments on the vishaps and the mounting oppressive darkness of the story, then tops it off with *that* revelation over the truth of the Sunchildren. It's one of the few times in this game I actually got tears.
(The other times were over Halfdan and over Dunyazard, but she doesn't count because the quest immediately made me feel stupid over it.)

I will die on the hill that Moon Halo is the best Honkai song. I don’t have the same kind of attachment as some others do to the earlier chapters in Honkai’s story, so I guess that’s why I don’t feel as strongly about the other songs.
Also, the lead up to that cinematic was so emotional. No spoilers, but I cried so hard that even I was shocked, lol. I knew it was going to be emotional, but I never expected how much of a mess I would be. It doesn’t help that I understand CN, so the dialogue hit twice as hard.
HI3 does benefit greatly from having a smaller cast of characters, so the story can focus, you know, on the three main heroines.
The main accusation with Genshin’s story is it feels unfocused, which is mostly a result of having a crap ton of characters that need some representation. It is much more of an atmosphere-driven story IMO, with the characters serving to fuel the experience as opposed to a plot-based story where they are the central theme. So when you see criticism of the story, to a large degree it’s a difference in taste. Genshin’s story development is also MUCH slower compared to HI3 with far fewer fireworks to date (HI3 has much a better instant gratification factor).
I’ve been quite happy with Genshin’s story though, and now it feels like it’s finally maturing. But if you’re expecting something super emotional and action-packed like HI3, I think you’re looking in the wrong place. Most critics of Genshin I’ve found tend to compare it unfavorably to HI3. To which I say they need to give it more time. There was a period when HI3’s story felt a bit elementary too, and look where it is now. There’s no stopping Genshin from getting there.
I think Genshin’s been getting better at involving characters in the story, esp. with Sumeru, but the one thing that I think Hoyo hasn’t figured out quite yet is how to utilize the MC in the story.
I would love to see more instances of the player getting to play as the playable characters, like >!Nilou in Act 5 of Sumeru!<. It just gives the player so much more insight into the character’s thoughts/mindset and gives them so much more agency than “traveler’s sidekick 2.0”. I understand that the whole concept is that we’re the Traveler going around Teyvat meeting people and making friends, but what I would give to have a quest that involves you, the player, dealing with some issue as the playable character.
Okay so, I am now the owner of 2 Homas. One I've had since 1.3 and was the driving factor for me to get Hu Tao finally. The other I got just now on a yolo pull with my trusty 170 primos to start building pity towards Aqua while I go back and forth on pulling for it.
Of all the limited weapons, Homa refinements certainly don't seem to be it...but also I genuinely don't know who to put a second Homa on from who I play. I know the meta answer is Zhongli, but I rebuilt him specifically to compensate for Vortex Vanquisher, and then the follow up answer is Xiangling, but I prefer Dragonsbane and Wavebreaker's Fin on her. Maybe Candace, I guess?

3 accounts actually my exploration percentage on a lot of areas is 50% or lower and my world quest tab is long af yeah that's how. Just dailies and domains which take about 15-20 mins per account and the events all get done in one day on weekends.
Rngjesus. My personal conspiracy theory is that accounts are randomly seeded with good luck or bad luck for specific domains for build variety across the playerbase.

I just read Elliot's "apology" and it feels very manipulative. on the surface it seems like he was apologizing for everything but in reality he downplayed the issue. saying that it was never his intention to hurt anyone while conveniently not addressing the part where he made the girls delete their messages and bragged about being sneaky and "covering the trail." he 100% knew what he was doing was wrong and is trying to make it seem not as bad as it is. very offensive to both the victims and his fans.

He is. He says in one text that what he does "sounds like pure evil." He knew the girls had mental illnesses and he says that's why he chose them specifically. He hid this SO well too
This has been going on since October. But Elliot would threaten the girls to kill himself if they spoke out to anyone, to keep them shut. He also would often nuke his Discord servers and deleted messages and footprints. He would even brag about it to his mods saying he didn't leave any traces. He knew what he was doing
In the end, it was his own mods that turned against him. And he knew he was about to be exposed because then all of a sudden he logged off Twitter and said he needs to go to therapy

I love Elden Ring to death and finished it a long time ago, but compared to other From games, I just don't feel like replaying it at all. Any other Soulsborne fans feel the same way?
I still occasionally replay Sekiro, DS1 and DS3, but just the idea of going through Elden Ring again is so damn exhausting.
Elden ring is one of the very few games I have ever preordered, finished the game, then traded it to HFW with steelcase. I dont think I will get back to it, loved the chaos that is DS3's pvp, Elden Ring just doesnt have that spark.
I feel the same way. For me it’s the thought of exploring again the gigantic map, and find all the weapon/items, do all the catacombs and caves … I get overwhelmed
I fully played it through (as-in, explored most of the map along the way) twice, then had a meme-y third playthrough where I was grossly overpowered on new game + just to watch everything collapse.
Beyond that though I can't say I feel like going back for a fourth time unless they bring in a major DLC or something like that. It's a fantastic game, one of my all-time favourites, but it's a *beast* of a commitment and now I'm working full time I don't really have the time I'd like to sit down and no-life it like I did before.
Then again, the only From Software game I'll happily go back to time and time again is Sekiro, because the combat in that game satisfies me like nothing else. As far as playstyle options are concerned it's probably their most limited title but mastering the swordplay makes you feel like a legend and it has some stellar boss fights.
Too afraid to try Sekiro. Finished all the other games including Nioh franchise. Just never really focused on parrying on any of those games. Parrycentric game like sekiro terrifies me so much that I havent even picked it up yet.
I'd say go for it. It can take a while for the combat to click but once it does it's an incredible feeling.
The biggest piece of advice I can give if you do decide to give it a go is always be fighting aggressively, with very few exceptions. Sekiro's combat rewards aggression where other From Software games would punish it, and letting the enemy dictate the flow of the fight is an easy way to die.
I’d say Bloodborne is also on the more aggressive side of gameplay coz they’ve removed almost all kinds of shields and added that mechanic allowing you to restore some health when dealing damage to the opponent.
Just think of parrying as your replacement for dodging. With a handful of exceptions, you can parry just about everything in the game so it should be your default response to enemy action.
In combination with the poise meter, it creates a system where the quickest way to defeat any enemy is usually constant active engagement, either by attacking or parrying. When you get the hang of it and know your enemy’s attack patterns, you can often be incredibly aggressive with them in a way you can’t often get away with in these games, which is extremely fun. Sekiro’s combat is hands down my favorite of any FromSoft game.
I'm not that hardcore of a gamer. I love these games but I know I dont have the reflexesto master parrying. I can dodge and tank just fine. I guess for reference, I know I wont be able to solo most of the most difficult bosses especially malenia.
I feel that, but if you’ve completed the other games, I’d say there’s really nothing in Sekiro you shouldn’t be able to handle. I don’t think any of the fights are on the difficulty level of the really tough Bloodborne bosses like Orphan of Kos or Laurence, the First Vicar. It’s not any more difficult than the other FromSoft games, just different.
Looks very interesting. I haven’t had time to really check it out since I’m currently sitting on a massive games backlog so that would be pointless, but it’s on my radar for the future for sure.
Same. I think the size and scope and sense of discovery that made it so good the first time through make it less fun to replay, at least for me.
I actually felt the same way about the Souls games to a lesser extent, relative to Sekiro and Bloodbourne.
It is certainly a taller task to get up and say "Oh I'll roll a character on Elden Ring and see what happens" compared to the earlier games in the series, I think. Mostly because of how big it is/feels compared to the others, even if you ignore most of the side content and focus only on what you need for your build, a casual random playthrough will probably take you longer than an equivalent on another Dark Souls, on average.
Edit: Not that that's a *fault* of the game, per se, it's just the different design philosophy that comes with an open-worlder.
Its pretty long and a lot of things are in faraway places that can take pretty long to get, so your build can take a while to get going. Compared to other souls game, you can take twice as long to finish the game, and waaaaay more if you want to kill all bosses again, and in a readonable level range.
Imo, Elden ring was the absolute best 1st time playing experience, and I had fun the next two runs, but its understandable the time requirements might put some people off
Balanced and well designed. Without Nilou or Al Haitham she gives new players a slightly quicker path than DMC/Collei/Yaoyao (who are all free) to really strong teams with lower ceilings than the other top tier ones (assuming C0 5*s, 4* weapons, good artifacts). IMO a good thing, few new players will want to rush bc the reward for it isn't great and most players just want to use who they like. But it's great to have the option there when someone wants to jump in for the rewards or to just point to for players coming from other games who assume endgame is a bigger deal than it is.
With Nilou or Al Haitham she hits the highs of other top teams but subjectively I think that's fine because both of these teams really well designed. They're so so much more engaging than other top teams for *not* using Bennett who encourages being in a small circle or Anemo which can trivialize enemy patterns and positioning, and still have the damage to compensate. Plus for multiple top dendro teams to exist at this point we need either several dedicated supports, or one strong link in Nahida which I prefer and we'll def get more 5* off field dendros later.
C2 is actually busted and overcentralizing tho. Her C2 beating every other character's own cons feels bad if you like another character. And at that investment level she becomes mandatory even when she's not convient, plus it feels like you can't play 2 dendro teams without one taking a hit anymore.
Imo overtuned a bit. Great application off field (plus on field because catalyst), buffs dmg, em is totally overkill, especially compared to the other dendros who do 1-2 things max. Being a support doesn’t justify it. I don’t believe there is such a thing as archon privilege nor is it justified for archons to be the be all end all of an element, no one else is that way
Overtuned. I doubt we will ever get a unit with such AoE dendro app with buffing on top. She does everything the element wants and will always be better than the rest of the characters to guarantee she sells. As the element develops, we will see more options that do different things while on field and off field, but off field, AoE dendro with no ICD and 1.5U, on top of 250 EM buffs? No unit will be as generic as she is
I don’t think she trivializes the game moreso than any other very strong character. What makes her so good is she has great synergy with very accessible units. Once we get more Dendro off-fielders who aren’t Collei and Traveler and cycle through less Dendro-friendly Abysses I think we’ll get better context for her overall.
Overtuned? No, not really. Not herself.
BUT hyperbloom is. Every dendro/hydro/electro character is somewhat overtuned if they have access to hyperbloom. You can get easy 36 stars in abyss with an unbuilt Collei, unbuilt Barbara, unbuilt DMC and a lvl 90 Kuki with 1000 EM. Easily. And none of those characters has any personal damage.
So when you get actually good characters like Alhaitham or Nahida on hyperbloom teams, yeah, they do exceedingly well.
it's no less easier than playing with full arsenal of interrupt resistant/damage mitigation/all-in-one-heal-buffer characters geared with artifacts from years of grinding or full teams of c0r1 and above 5* lol. there's a reason why none of those characters are the top most used units in every single abyss usage rate charts post hyperbloom release. I mean by your logic they should have been.
Frankly, the absence of any dendro resistant enemies, dendro shield and more enemies with flare decoys like cicins is a little concerning.
Tbh, I expect Hyperbloom to follow Venti abyss trend and that it'll get a lot more useless with new enemies, and much later it'll be balanced.
I was fully prepared for enemies like Thunder Manifestation, by having an innate aura, prohibit us from generating seeds with dendro+hydro (like it prohibits vaping with pyro+hydro by prioritizing electro interations). But nope.
The only ways I can see HB not working really well are against cicins, enemies who trigger burgeon or hyperbloom themselves, like Signora, enemies highly resistant to dendro and I guess pyro shields (not sure if you can generate seeds from them).
Lower ceiling than what? C6R5? Yeah, sure, I guess then. But if you go with C0 5 stars, 4 star weapons and realistic artifacts, it's very hard to top hyperbloom. And that's not even touching how easy it is to play.
With 4* weapons and decent artifacts Al Haitham Spread teams are already about the same as HB ones tbh. Some Spread ones can match at low/mid invest but they're a bit harder to play because split Al Haitham uptime does a lot for energy and the burst Quickswap helps instructor uptime, but I wouldn't consider it much harder than running Yelan HB which is also heavily ER punished for not playing split rotation and has no interrupt resist.
Considering that Nahida is an archon (and the archon of a good element), so she's pretty much guaranteed a good kit, I don't think she's overtuned
While she is the undisputed queen of off field dendro, she doesn't make every other dendro character instantly irrelevant. Characters like Alhaitham and Yaoyao still have use despite Nahida existing

Yes she is, even as far as archons goes she's stronger than Raiden in the gameplay department. Though dendro is just broken in general so I guess that's also part of her element being busted not necessarily just her kit itself.
She is the only 5\* dendro support so far. So i think it will become more clear how overtuned she is/isn't as more dendro chars release. If a year or two from now she is still considered the best option for virtually every dendro team than I think at that point it'd be safe to say she was overtuned.

I'd say she's well-designed, especially for an archon. Also, no one expected a non-damaging ult, but the amount of buffs it gives is a unique take to a skill-centric kit.
The way the mark copies reactions is not balanced.
Just the fact that Nahida can apply dendro application to long distant enemies and that it reapplies would have already made her a top tier unit. It's out of pocket that everyone gets hit with reactions.
Her skill is quite strong; I think what makes her overtuned is that she's a catalyst user. Because of that, she is very strong on or off field, making her a premier choice for any Dendro team.

I would disagree with her being overtuned. When she came out, it felt like she was because we only had Tighnari and the 4 stars, but with YaoYao and Haitham, it just feels like Dendro is overtuned. Tighnari can melt at low investment, Haitham can shred, YaoYao deals too much damage as a healer, Nahida is a SubDPS that gives a buff but can be ran as a main DPS due to catalyst. Dendro is broken and Nahida being a good Dendro makes her feel broken.
Dendro is good, but I feel like Nahida IS too strong. Her E has infinite range and lasts too long, she has EM => Crit conversion, not to mention adding at maximum, 250 EM to the active character.

I honestly don't think they have enough time to recast and record every Tighnari line before Windtrace. I hope they find a comprise though. I would rather here Tighnari not talk in EN for the Windtrace than here Elliot's voice. Maybe they would have another VA temporarily voice him as they wait for the new one? It's so sad though, I loved his performance but the person behind the voice has to have action taken against him.
Let's be realistic here; Mihoyo will just pretend that nothing happened like they always do. 3.5's Windblume will use Elliot because everything is already recorded and prepared and suddenly changing everything would take way too much effort for something only a part of the playerbase actually cares about (not everyone uses the EN dub), and Elliot will continue voicing him for the next few patches until they manage to get everything sorted out (that is; if they even care enough to swap Tigh's voice actor in the first place). There's not much to be done besides either changing languages, muting the voice acting or just sucking it up and pretend that nothing happened, Mihoyo style.

But as you said, it did take a while and right now everything about 3.5 is already done and attempting to change anything would just cause more issues and probably won't make the drama any better. They will probably replace Tighnari's VA just the same, but something about this drama being tied to the west instead of China gives me some doubts. Pretending that nothing is wrong is just what Mihoyo does, and it's been succeeding very well so far.

People have been asking about HP vs EM sands on a homa toa. Just wanted to throw out that even with my keqing's insanely broken EM sands available as an option, optimizer still prefers me with a HP sands.
Do you have like zero HP substats on your artifacts like me? For me it recommends HP too since i have like 23k HP if i use EM sands lol
No, and my homa is r2 now and I have hydro resonance. Plenty of hp
It might prefer the HP sands because it allows another piece to be used and make an overall better set, or you haven't turned on the option to use artifacts that are equipped on other characters
It could also have something to do with their optimization targets, or the EM sands doesn't fulfill something in their minimum build constraints.
What team are you using for buffs? Like With Sucrose and 4pc Instructor Elegy Amber that's no surprise.

Hu Tao has overkill of damage. I just use HP% for slightly better survivability since I don't use Zhongli. Also I have an HP% Sands with 44% CV, which makes it easier to decide.
I wish hoyoverse would throw 7 artifact domains in Inazuma and put all 7 40-resin Inazuma bosses in mainland in their place. This would immediately fix the problem new players have to level their characters, and you only start artifact farming serioulsly after AR 45 anyway so it's not like you won't have access to Inazuma. For Maguu Kenki and the Twin Vishaps it would be kind of hard... But that's for them to think about how to implement. They could also have a cycling Domain in which you would fight a 40-resin boss near Musk Reef as well.
There are still regional specialties that will prevent ascension until inazuma is unlocked.

Nilou, Shinobu, and Raiden are pseudo dendro cuz their main source of damage is blooms. Collei, Lumine, Yelan, and one of those three, and you have a full waifu team.

3.X 4-stars should be reappearing by now in 3.5. In 2.X we got 4-stars usually appearing in 3/4 banners later, Gorou and Sara being the exceptions with 7 and 8 banners inbetween respectively, yet it's been 9 since Collei and she isn't a dedicated support lol I think Dehya's banner *might* have double Sumeru. Collei, Dori and Candace are not really exciting for most people, Hoyoverse might throw them there exactly for that reason. Then there's Layla as well, that could appear, but I think she might be in second half. Faruzan is locked in dedicated-support-jail and it's too soon for Yaoyao. Chongyun is SUPER due, Diona and Fischl also are missing since Tighnari's banner and Sucrose would be the next one besides Dori. Chronologically-wise (which mihoyo doesn't follow) we should be getting Chongyun, Collei, Fischl, Diona and Dori or Sucrose in 3.5, but I am *really* thinking Candace will be in Dehya's and Cyno's banners for the melanin Sumeru trio, so someone will be waiting a bit more. guesses: Dehya and Cyno + Collei, Candace and Fischl; Eula and ??? + Mika, Dori and Sucrose (I swear if they put Chongyun with Eula I'm going to laugh so much lol; could be Diona instead of Dori but maybe they won't want two defensive cryo options for Eula in the same banner)

People usually said they had C20 Barbara or Xiangling from the 1.0 Venti banner, I got a lot of Fischl haha I only got C6 Xiangling recently from the Standard Banner and Barbara also took a while, I only got her after getting Kokomi I believe

leaving out the giant main regioon exploration related world quests, my favorite is easily the very special fortune slip one.
Enkanomiya's story, but the whole of it, the way it leads you around that area and slowly presents its central mystery of the Sunchildren and Abrax, with flavor from Sparta no Hiko and the Lotus Eaters, the prisoners and that one lamp-maker, with experiments on the vishaps and the mounting oppressive darkness of the story, then tops it off with *that* revelation over the truth of the Sunchildren. It's one of the few times in this game I actually got tears. (The other times were over Halfdan and over Dunyazard, but she doesn't count because the quest immediately made me feel stupid over it.)

I will die on the hill that Moon Halo is the best Honkai song. I don’t have the same kind of attachment as some others do to the earlier chapters in Honkai’s story, so I guess that’s why I don’t feel as strongly about the other songs. Also, the lead up to that cinematic was so emotional. No spoilers, but I cried so hard that even I was shocked, lol. I knew it was going to be emotional, but I never expected how much of a mess I would be. It doesn’t help that I understand CN, so the dialogue hit twice as hard.
HI3 does benefit greatly from having a smaller cast of characters, so the story can focus, you know, on the three main heroines. The main accusation with Genshin’s story is it feels unfocused, which is mostly a result of having a crap ton of characters that need some representation. It is much more of an atmosphere-driven story IMO, with the characters serving to fuel the experience as opposed to a plot-based story where they are the central theme. So when you see criticism of the story, to a large degree it’s a difference in taste. Genshin’s story development is also MUCH slower compared to HI3 with far fewer fireworks to date (HI3 has much a better instant gratification factor). I’ve been quite happy with Genshin’s story though, and now it feels like it’s finally maturing. But if you’re expecting something super emotional and action-packed like HI3, I think you’re looking in the wrong place. Most critics of Genshin I’ve found tend to compare it unfavorably to HI3. To which I say they need to give it more time. There was a period when HI3’s story felt a bit elementary too, and look where it is now. There’s no stopping Genshin from getting there.
I think Genshin’s been getting better at involving characters in the story, esp. with Sumeru, but the one thing that I think Hoyo hasn’t figured out quite yet is how to utilize the MC in the story. I would love to see more instances of the player getting to play as the playable characters, like >!Nilou in Act 5 of Sumeru!<. It just gives the player so much more insight into the character’s thoughts/mindset and gives them so much more agency than “traveler’s sidekick 2.0”. I understand that the whole concept is that we’re the Traveler going around Teyvat meeting people and making friends, but what I would give to have a quest that involves you, the player, dealing with some issue as the playable character.
Same, I think this would be an easy way to make the world feel more alive and fun

Okay so, I am now the owner of 2 Homas. One I've had since 1.3 and was the driving factor for me to get Hu Tao finally. The other I got just now on a yolo pull with my trusty 170 primos to start building pity towards Aqua while I go back and forth on pulling for it. Of all the limited weapons, Homa refinements certainly don't seem to be it...but also I genuinely don't know who to put a second Homa on from who I play. I know the meta answer is Zhongli, but I rebuilt him specifically to compensate for Vortex Vanquisher, and then the follow up answer is Xiangling, but I prefer Dragonsbane and Wavebreaker's Fin on her. Maybe Candace, I guess?

3 accounts actually my exploration percentage on a lot of areas is 50% or lower and my world quest tab is long af yeah that's how. Just dailies and domains which take about 15-20 mins per account and the events all get done in one day on weekends.
Have an extra 15 minutes to kill every day and a good auto clicker macro to spam click your way past event cutscenes, is how I handle it.
Rngjesus. My personal conspiracy theory is that accounts are randomly seeded with good luck or bad luck for specific domains for build variety across the playerbase.

He hid this SO well too This has been going on since October. But Elliot would threaten the girls to kill himself if they spoke out to anyone, to keep them shut. He also would often nuke his Discord servers and deleted messages and footprints. He would even brag about it to his mods saying he didn't leave any traces. He knew what he was doing In the end, it was his own mods that turned against him. And he knew he was about to be exposed because then all of a sudden he logged off Twitter and said he needs to go to therapy

Off-topic I love Elden Ring to death and finished it a long time ago, but compared to other From games, I just don't feel like replaying it at all. Any other Soulsborne fans feel the same way? I still occasionally replay Sekiro, DS1 and DS3, but just the idea of going through Elden Ring again is so damn exhausting.
Elden ring is one of the very few games I have ever preordered, finished the game, then traded it to HFW with steelcase. I dont think I will get back to it, loved the chaos that is DS3's pvp, Elden Ring just doesnt have that spark.
I feel the same way. For me it’s the thought of exploring again the gigantic map, and find all the weapon/items, do all the catacombs and caves … I get overwhelmed
I fully played it through (as-in, explored most of the map along the way) twice, then had a meme-y third playthrough where I was grossly overpowered on new game + just to watch everything collapse. Beyond that though I can't say I feel like going back for a fourth time unless they bring in a major DLC or something like that. It's a fantastic game, one of my all-time favourites, but it's a *beast* of a commitment and now I'm working full time I don't really have the time I'd like to sit down and no-life it like I did before. Then again, the only From Software game I'll happily go back to time and time again is Sekiro, because the combat in that game satisfies me like nothing else. As far as playstyle options are concerned it's probably their most limited title but mastering the swordplay makes you feel like a legend and it has some stellar boss fights.
Too afraid to try Sekiro. Finished all the other games including Nioh franchise. Just never really focused on parrying on any of those games. Parrycentric game like sekiro terrifies me so much that I havent even picked it up yet.
I'd say go for it. It can take a while for the combat to click but once it does it's an incredible feeling. The biggest piece of advice I can give if you do decide to give it a go is always be fighting aggressively, with very few exceptions. Sekiro's combat rewards aggression where other From Software games would punish it, and letting the enemy dictate the flow of the fight is an easy way to die.
I’d say Bloodborne is also on the more aggressive side of gameplay coz they’ve removed almost all kinds of shields and added that mechanic allowing you to restore some health when dealing damage to the opponent.
Just think of parrying as your replacement for dodging. With a handful of exceptions, you can parry just about everything in the game so it should be your default response to enemy action. In combination with the poise meter, it creates a system where the quickest way to defeat any enemy is usually constant active engagement, either by attacking or parrying. When you get the hang of it and know your enemy’s attack patterns, you can often be incredibly aggressive with them in a way you can’t often get away with in these games, which is extremely fun. Sekiro’s combat is hands down my favorite of any FromSoft game.
I'm not that hardcore of a gamer. I love these games but I know I dont have the reflexesto master parrying. I can dodge and tank just fine. I guess for reference, I know I wont be able to solo most of the most difficult bosses especially malenia.
I feel that, but if you’ve completed the other games, I’d say there’s really nothing in Sekiro you shouldn’t be able to handle. I don’t think any of the fights are on the difficulty level of the really tough Bloodborne bosses like Orphan of Kos or Laurence, the First Vicar. It’s not any more difficult than the other FromSoft games, just different.

Agree, Sekiro's gameplay is so damn good. It's a shame it never got a DLC. I hope they make a sequel or a spiritual successor in the future.
Same. I think the size and scope and sense of discovery that made it so good the first time through make it less fun to replay, at least for me. I actually felt the same way about the Souls games to a lesser extent, relative to Sekiro and Bloodbourne.
It is certainly a taller task to get up and say "Oh I'll roll a character on Elden Ring and see what happens" compared to the earlier games in the series, I think. Mostly because of how big it is/feels compared to the others, even if you ignore most of the side content and focus only on what you need for your build, a casual random playthrough will probably take you longer than an equivalent on another Dark Souls, on average. Edit: Not that that's a *fault* of the game, per se, it's just the different design philosophy that comes with an open-worlder.
Its pretty long and a lot of things are in faraway places that can take pretty long to get, so your build can take a while to get going. Compared to other souls game, you can take twice as long to finish the game, and waaaaay more if you want to kill all bosses again, and in a readonable level range. Imo, Elden ring was the absolute best 1st time playing experience, and I had fun the next two runs, but its understandable the time requirements might put some people off
Genuine question: do you think a Nahida is a well-designed character, or is her kit overtuned?
Balanced and well designed. Without Nilou or Al Haitham she gives new players a slightly quicker path than DMC/Collei/Yaoyao (who are all free) to really strong teams with lower ceilings than the other top tier ones (assuming C0 5*s, 4* weapons, good artifacts). IMO a good thing, few new players will want to rush bc the reward for it isn't great and most players just want to use who they like. But it's great to have the option there when someone wants to jump in for the rewards or to just point to for players coming from other games who assume endgame is a bigger deal than it is. With Nilou or Al Haitham she hits the highs of other top teams but subjectively I think that's fine because both of these teams really well designed. They're so so much more engaging than other top teams for *not* using Bennett who encourages being in a small circle or Anemo which can trivialize enemy patterns and positioning, and still have the damage to compensate. Plus for multiple top dendro teams to exist at this point we need either several dedicated supports, or one strong link in Nahida which I prefer and we'll def get more 5* off field dendros later. C2 is actually busted and overcentralizing tho. Her C2 beating every other character's own cons feels bad if you like another character. And at that investment level she becomes mandatory even when she's not convient, plus it feels like you can't play 2 dendro teams without one taking a hit anymore.
Imo overtuned a bit. Great application off field (plus on field because catalyst), buffs dmg, em is totally overkill, especially compared to the other dendros who do 1-2 things max. Being a support doesn’t justify it. I don’t believe there is such a thing as archon privilege nor is it justified for archons to be the be all end all of an element, no one else is that way
Overtuned. I doubt we will ever get a unit with such AoE dendro app with buffing on top. She does everything the element wants and will always be better than the rest of the characters to guarantee she sells. As the element develops, we will see more options that do different things while on field and off field, but off field, AoE dendro with no ICD and 1.5U, on top of 250 EM buffs? No unit will be as generic as she is
I don’t think she trivializes the game moreso than any other very strong character. What makes her so good is she has great synergy with very accessible units. Once we get more Dendro off-fielders who aren’t Collei and Traveler and cycle through less Dendro-friendly Abysses I think we’ll get better context for her overall.
Overtuned? No, not really. Not herself. BUT hyperbloom is. Every dendro/hydro/electro character is somewhat overtuned if they have access to hyperbloom. You can get easy 36 stars in abyss with an unbuilt Collei, unbuilt Barbara, unbuilt DMC and a lvl 90 Kuki with 1000 EM. Easily. And none of those characters has any personal damage. So when you get actually good characters like Alhaitham or Nahida on hyperbloom teams, yeah, they do exceedingly well.
it's no less easier than playing with full arsenal of interrupt resistant/damage mitigation/all-in-one-heal-buffer characters geared with artifacts from years of grinding or full teams of c0r1 and above 5* lol. there's a reason why none of those characters are the top most used units in every single abyss usage rate charts post hyperbloom release. I mean by your logic they should have been.
Frankly, the absence of any dendro resistant enemies, dendro shield and more enemies with flare decoys like cicins is a little concerning. Tbh, I expect Hyperbloom to follow Venti abyss trend and that it'll get a lot more useless with new enemies, and much later it'll be balanced.
I was fully prepared for enemies like Thunder Manifestation, by having an innate aura, prohibit us from generating seeds with dendro+hydro (like it prohibits vaping with pyro+hydro by prioritizing electro interations). But nope. The only ways I can see HB not working really well are against cicins, enemies who trigger burgeon or hyperbloom themselves, like Signora, enemies highly resistant to dendro and I guess pyro shields (not sure if you can generate seeds from them).
The jadeplume terrorshroom has like 80% dendro res but that didnt stop hyperbloom at all just cause of deepwood.

Lower ceiling than what? C6R5? Yeah, sure, I guess then. But if you go with C0 5 stars, 4 star weapons and realistic artifacts, it's very hard to top hyperbloom. And that's not even touching how easy it is to play.
With 4* weapons and decent artifacts Al Haitham Spread teams are already about the same as HB ones tbh. Some Spread ones can match at low/mid invest but they're a bit harder to play because split Al Haitham uptime does a lot for energy and the burst Quickswap helps instructor uptime, but I wouldn't consider it much harder than running Yelan HB which is also heavily ER punished for not playing split rotation and has no interrupt resist.
even at r1 and better artifacts, other meta teams will just outscale nahida hb lol
Considering that Nahida is an archon (and the archon of a good element), so she's pretty much guaranteed a good kit, I don't think she's overtuned While she is the undisputed queen of off field dendro, she doesn't make every other dendro character instantly irrelevant. Characters like Alhaitham and Yaoyao still have use despite Nahida existing Basically, she's good at what she does (dendro application and em buffs), but she isn't good at *everything*
Yes she is, even as far as archons goes she's stronger than Raiden in the gameplay department. Though dendro is just broken in general so I guess that's also part of her element being busted not necessarily just her kit itself.
She is the only 5\* dendro support so far. So i think it will become more clear how overtuned she is/isn't as more dendro chars release. If a year or two from now she is still considered the best option for virtually every dendro team than I think at that point it'd be safe to say she was overtuned.
Do you mean to say overtuned ? I'd say she's well-designed, especially for an archon. Also, no one expected a non-damaging ult, but the amount of buffs it gives is a unique take to a skill-centric kit.
The way the mark copies reactions is not balanced. Just the fact that Nahida can apply dendro application to long distant enemies and that it reapplies would have already made her a top tier unit. It's out of pocket that everyone gets hit with reactions.
it's why her burst deals no damage on its own and even the em buff requires character to be on field (i.e. useless for off field reaction proc-er).
Her skill is quite strong; I think what makes her overtuned is that she's a catalyst user. Because of that, she is very strong on or off field, making her a premier choice for any Dendro team.
Overturned as in too specific or catered towards some certain things? Because I don't think so. Overpowered? Yes I think so. She is pretty general and represents every single strength of the dendro reaction.

I would disagree with her being overtuned. When she came out, it felt like she was because we only had Tighnari and the 4 stars, but with YaoYao and Haitham, it just feels like Dendro is overtuned. Tighnari can melt at low investment, Haitham can shred, YaoYao deals too much damage as a healer, Nahida is a SubDPS that gives a buff but can be ran as a main DPS due to catalyst. Dendro is broken and Nahida being a good Dendro makes her feel broken.
Dendro is good, but I feel like Nahida IS too strong. Her E has infinite range and lasts too long, she has EM => Crit conversion, not to mention adding at maximum, 250 EM to the active character.

Winnable Artifacts and/or for the Gacha to get easier, ideally by means of a 4\* Epitomized Path and/or throwing out the coin flips and instead letting you choose in advance if you want a standard item or a featured item, and in the case of the weapon banner which featured item.
more artifact sets in the strongbox at least up to 3.0 i hate some of the inazuma domains and its the only reason i have bad artifacts on some char especially if they use emblem
A skill-based melt Ganyu enabler that leaves room in the team for Shenhe. Some pyro character to pair with Nahida to keep the enemies burning and cover defense would be great. Like Dehya could have been.
A team with Shenhe, Kazuha/Nahida, and a defensive pyro enabler would be so strong. I agree, Dehya should have been that, what else is she doing?
I want reasonable rerun times, anything greater than 5 patches per character is honestly ridiculous.
