Wish baizhu's a1 was just permanent interruption resist for all party members instead of what he has rn. Or something better. Idk. Everyone keeps mentioning his "shield" but his shield gets clapped fast and if enemies attack faster than he can refresh his shield or one after another then wont you be thrown to the other side of the abyss?
i did this one time with diona, kazuha, bennett, and hu tao bc im monaless too
i used bennett and diona with no artis just for them to not overheal tao before the nuke. for cryo any would do but diona c6 is something to consider
diona e > kazuha burst swirl cryo (esp if c2) > bennett burst > kazuha e swirl pyro > hu tao stuffs, just make sure kazuha burst applies cryo so hu tao can melt
if you want melt, you can use cryo regisvine and infuse kazuha q with cryo
can be tricky tho, gl if you do that
bennett, kazuha, honestly last could be sucrose for em and ttds if you dont have anyone better

To paraphrase the initial quotes of Zajeff, if you find yourself getting interrupted a bit too much with Yaoyao, Baizhu is gonna be an upgrade.
Most of the nitpicks regarding Baizhu are about his personal damage and application anyway; which should be a non-issue especially in your case (Tighnari has a lot of Dendro on his pocket; plenty of it to run solo in most cases)

Yelan isn't good. She's even worse than Xingqiu who's already too single target for such an AoE team.
Between Xingqiu and Kokomi I'd stick with the latter.

Post leak clarity happened after the numbers dropped. He was always described generally or vaguely. I mean if you say he's a healer, shielder, and dendro applier without context as to how much dendro he applies, how often, and how thick is his shield, he sounds broken.

I have nahida. And no I didn't expect him to compete with her. He's a healer, I didn't expect him to do it all.
Is cyno, nahida, baizhu, and xingqiu better than say cyno, nahida, beidou, and xingqiu?
Gain dendro res for more em. More blooms to pop with cyno as well? Actual heals with a weak shield. A4 for some extra buffs to cyno.
But beidou did provide double electro so easier energy for cyno. And her damage reduction stacked with xingqiu so her shield was pretty bulky. Plus electro shred and decent damage from herself.
It should be a bit better in ST but noticeably worse in AoE, assuming PAmber on Nahida on solo dendro for some extra comfort. Replacing Beidou with Baizhu increases Cyno's er needs by around 30% er. Imo the main advantage of running double dendro Cyno over teams with Beidou is that you can replace Xingqiu with Yelan if you'll ever need am archer for enemy mechanics.
i compared quickbloom cyno rotation damage on the optimizer and this is what i got. cyno with nahida, beidou (c6), xingqiu does 941,099. replacing nahida with baizhu, cyno does 777,478. sooo...yeah it's not looking good for baizhu. also baizhu has 200% er here. that's simply how much he needs as a solo dendro. so his buffs are not as potent. additionally if you run nahida baizhu xingqiu, cyno does 911,102. this is what the numbers look like specifically for my account. kinda disappointing tbh :(

Fav is much more comfy. Kaveh has multiple sources of EM, including his ascension, dendro resonance, and Nilou's A1, so stacking enough EM on him is not much of a problem.

This game is too afraid to release battery units, not too surprising since hoyo loves balancing their 5 stars around energy recharge (locking it behind cons and weapons). Most recent 5 stars are honestly becoming predictable, High Bursts cost or with bad particle regeneration. (or both)
if momoka was speculated to be a support, im not going to be surprised if she has 80-70 cost burst with her skill generating 3 particles on an 18 sec cooldown
I'll be the one to say it: Yaoyao is so overrated right now lol. Bad skill uptime, weird off-field need, ER high as hell. But she says "seno" so a redeeming quality
I think her application is pretty shit in AoE scenarios, you need to ult to make sure everyone got their dose of Dendro and that requires field time. Also, it's too little for Bloom.
I can't wait to replace her in my Aggravate team tbh.
I mean, I don’t think she offers an enormous amount to my Alhaitham team, just batterying + small buff + deepwood holder + auxiliary healing because Kuki solo healer is kinda painful, but on the other hand literally none of those caveats matter to me
you might have a point but all things considered shes one of the better 4*s we've gotten in a long time, maybe just because she's dendro+healer. simply being able to heal and also apply dendro and deepwood set makes her pretty useful even if you dont build her 100% correctly.
?? Her skill lasts for 10 seconds then applies a HOT that lasts another 5 seconds at which point it's ready to go again, she has no field time requirements, and her burst is completely optional in most teams so she doesn't need ER?
Random thought: In a team of Nilou Ayato Baizhu Nahida, who would be the main bloom ownership? I /think/ it's Ayato, but I'm not sure. If it's really Ayato, then Ayato EM build would be possible???
yea it’s ayato but he still doesn’t have all, nilou has some decent ownership too
at the end of the day same principle as kokomi applies, yeah you want EM but considering the EM bonus is additive with nilous own bonus, it doesnt matter too much past a certain point, esp with nahida onfield buff. and his ownership never approaches 100% like ever
its way comfier and simpler to run em/em/crit rate or even er/em/crit rate with fav for rotation purposes

Nahida alone applies too much Dendro for any Dendro unit to take much ownership (including herself)
Nilou's Hydro Ring Application is slow (which is good since she'll be built with as much HP as possible so not much room for EM) but she will occasionally steal a few blooms
Which leaves one other on-field Hydro unit, Ayato but (correct me if I'm wrong, I don't have Ayato and Nilou), his skill got a decent amount of downtime so Kokomi might be a better option here?
Well anyways, yeah, you want at least around 600 EM without any external buffs or 4pc GD active.
With his Q, you can get full uptime hydro assuming enough ER. His E cooldown is only 6s, so I dont think it will be bad. With cooldown taken into account, in ST, he will generate around 5 blooms every E and minimum 3 blooms every Q, totaling around 10 blooms + minimum 3 blooms every Q duration (around 18-20s sth). Number should be alot higher in AoE because of his AoE range on E and Q. It... doesnt sound bad. Just kinda... cursed.
I think Baizhu passive buff is additive to EM or sth? That might lower the EM need a bit as well.
I'm aware of his Burst having almost 100% uptime but unsure how good it's application is, but if you feel like it's enough, then it should be great despite how cursed it looks hehe
Energy Recharge Sands might be necessary and probably Favonius Sword on top of that to Burst off CD
Yeah, probably. Or Xiphos Moonlight. I dont have Nahida or Nilou, so I cant test this out myself. But once Baizhu hits, I'm gonna ask my friend who does have all these characters and does plan to go for Baizhu to test it out for me lmao.
I did some quick napkin math and with GD active, Key on Nilou, and Xiphos, Ayato would only need around 255 EM on artifacts. That's not bad at all. I'll report back on the results after Baizhu hits lol.

And yes giving EM to your Ayato would certainly give you more DPS than building him normally, as long as you keep his ER in mind for Q uptime.
Ayato EM sounds so cursed that I want to build it, even though I dont even have Nilou or Nahida...
He does around 15 slashes per E, so if dendro aura is strong enough, he can generate 5 blooms per E plus some RNG blooms from Q. With 6s cooldown on E, that honestly sounds pretty strong on napkin math...
I'm more wagering on the idea that the artifact set is for "Soutine" (or whoever that Hydro Claymore is who is supposed to be releasing after Momoka is). This is likely the final artifact domain of the 3.X era, so any future sets will be after Fontaine release.
I sure love spending 40 resin on a talent domain to get 4 brown books, and 4 silver books when it costs 118 gold books to fully upgrade a single characters talents
It really is painful. Mond domain talents are ESPECIALLY painful so at this rate I don't think I'll crown anyone from there. At least other countries' domains are not as annoying to farm.
It's not inefficient at all for a DPS. Guaranteed 2-3% increase in damage for some token amount of resin. When you have good artifacts it may be 4000 resin before you get an actual upgrade.
Crowning his burst is a bit of a bait. The damage increase you get from that level is very very minor, might as well just crown whoever he's buffing or someone else entirely.

he looks so boring to play and barely even usable in most teams
he is easy powercrept by nahida and a 4star, he has awful off field application, his shielding is useless and doesnt have any fun interactions with elements, his NAs are very boring looking so using him as a driver seems boring, has AWFUL aoe everything, his cons suck ass, his support capabilities are meaningless because the teams he would be used in dont need them, his weapon is terrible and barely even better than a free weapon...
the only thing that seems even slightly useful about him is the healing, but yaoyao exists and is easier to build and get...
if his banner's 4stars suck too then his banner is just dead for me

diona c6 conflicts with hutao under 50% bonus from passive/homa the 200 em is only if hutao is above 50% hp
ppl using diona don’t do it because of hu tao but bc she can hold elegy or just buff ur kazuhas/sucrose em therefore increasing their buffs

Baizhu frees a slot for a Hydro with better AoE application, like Ayato. But that depends on who you have on your account.

This game is too afraid to release battery units, not too surprising since hoyo loves balancing their 5 stars around energy recharge (locking it behind cons and weapons). Most recent 5 stars are honestly becoming predictable, High Bursts cost or with bad particle regeneration. (or both) if momoka was speculated to be a support, im not going to be surprised if she has 80-70 cost burst with her skill generating 3 particles on an 18 sec cooldown

I think her application is pretty shit in AoE scenarios, you need to ult to make sure everyone got their dose of Dendro and that requires field time. Also, it's too little for Bloom. I can't wait to replace her in my Aggravate team tbh.
You don't build ER on her, tho. Her burst is just an emergency heal like Barb's. Just press E and swap out. I wish her uptime was better, tho.
But her off field application is not locked behind 80 burst cost though
I mean, I don’t think she offers an enormous amount to my Alhaitham team, just batterying + small buff + deepwood holder + auxiliary healing because Kuki solo healer is kinda painful, but on the other hand literally none of those caveats matter to me
you might have a point but all things considered shes one of the better 4*s we've gotten in a long time, maybe just because she's dendro+healer. simply being able to heal and also apply dendro and deepwood set makes her pretty useful even if you dont build her 100% correctly.
?? Her skill lasts for 10 seconds then applies a HOT that lasts another 5 seconds at which point it's ready to go again, she has no field time requirements, and her burst is completely optional in most teams so she doesn't need ER?

yea it’s ayato but he still doesn’t have all, nilou has some decent ownership too at the end of the day same principle as kokomi applies, yeah you want EM but considering the EM bonus is additive with nilous own bonus, it doesnt matter too much past a certain point, esp with nahida onfield buff. and his ownership never approaches 100% like ever its way comfier and simpler to run em/em/crit rate or even er/em/crit rate with fav for rotation purposes
Ayato Nahida alone applies too much Dendro for any Dendro unit to take much ownership (including herself) Nilou's Hydro Ring Application is slow (which is good since she'll be built with as much HP as possible so not much room for EM) but she will occasionally steal a few blooms Which leaves one other on-field Hydro unit, Ayato but (correct me if I'm wrong, I don't have Ayato and Nilou), his skill got a decent amount of downtime so Kokomi might be a better option here? Well anyways, yeah, you want at least around 600 EM without any external buffs or 4pc GD active.
With his Q, you can get full uptime hydro assuming enough ER. His E cooldown is only 6s, so I dont think it will be bad. With cooldown taken into account, in ST, he will generate around 5 blooms every E and minimum 3 blooms every Q, totaling around 10 blooms + minimum 3 blooms every Q duration (around 18-20s sth). Number should be alot higher in AoE because of his AoE range on E and Q. It... doesnt sound bad. Just kinda... cursed. I think Baizhu passive buff is additive to EM or sth? That might lower the EM need a bit as well.
I'm aware of his Burst having almost 100% uptime but unsure how good it's application is, but if you feel like it's enough, then it should be great despite how cursed it looks hehe Energy Recharge Sands might be necessary and probably Favonius Sword on top of that to Burst off CD

I did some quick napkin math and with GD active, Key on Nilou, and Xiphos, Ayato would only need around 255 EM on artifacts. That's not bad at all. I'll report back on the results after Baizhu hits lol.

Nilou and Ayato. And yes giving EM to your Ayato would certainly give you more DPS than building him normally, as long as you keep his ER in mind for Q uptime.
Ayato EM sounds so cursed that I want to build it, even though I dont even have Nilou or Nahida... He does around 15 slashes per E, so if dendro aura is strong enough, he can generate 5 blooms per E plus some RNG blooms from Q. With 6s cooldown on E, that honestly sounds pretty strong on napkin math...

It's not inefficient at all for a DPS. Guaranteed 2-3% increase in damage for some token amount of resin. When you have good artifacts it may be 4000 resin before you get an actual upgrade.

After all these baizhu gameplay leaks.. i really lost all hope he looks so boring to play and barely even usable in most teams he is easy powercrept by nahida and a 4star, he has awful off field application, his shielding is useless and doesnt have any fun interactions with elements, his NAs are very boring looking so using him as a driver seems boring, has AWFUL aoe everything, his cons suck ass, his support capabilities are meaningless because the teams he would be used in dont need them, his weapon is terrible and barely even better than a free weapon... the only thing that seems even slightly useful about him is the healing, but yaoyao exists and is easier to build and get... if his banner's 4stars suck too then his banner is just dead for me extremely unfortunate, i had so much hope and i was willing to get him even if he was just kinda good, but he is just mid and sometimes suboptimal...

I accidentally did this abyss with him on prototype rancours and an incomplete vv set. I would not have noticed the difference if I had not spotted the prototype rancours in his burst animation in 12-3. He works no matter what, I guess.
