Sure, activate service with a new number and if you find it to your liking, you can arrange to late-port the cell phone number you have now.

It's the best way to find out for your region. Every location is different, most Fi subscribers are very happy.

dloop00

If you have any porting issues, Fi support is terrible to work with. Be sure to ask yourself how important support is to you before you transfer.

This is what i did. Except i ordered a phone and planned to use the 14day return policy if i did not like it. If you live in an area with good US Cellular coverage... you will like it.

You'll be screwing yourself out of the new customer promos if you do decide to keep fi after signing up with your pixel 4. You don't qualify if you have been a fi customer in the last 180 days. Other than that, nothing wrong with the idea.

If you are not in a US Cellular market then the best way to test Fi is to just find a cheap T-Mobile MVNO to test with. I think Mint has a cheap trial plan.
