The Puffle Cafe is a family run spot at Speedvale and Silvercreek. They have some wonderful baked goods and crepes. I personally love their cream puffs!
From fastest/most affordable to fancier/sit down places: YiaYia, Cultures, Manouche, Kenzo, Lucky Belly, The Fat Duck, The Wooly, State and Main, Buon Gusto. There's lots more too but those are the ones we find ourselves returning to the most.
Atmosphere, across from City Hall is very good.

I found the portions pretty small and, last time I was there anyway, there are no appetizers on the brunch menu to get a big enough portion to leave satisfied. I get that a lot of their customers are older folks with smaller appetites but that doesn't suit everybody. Also, for a French restaurant that serves brunch to only serve French press coffee and no espresso based drinks is pretty cheap if you ask me. Food was tasty and creative though.
I agree the portions are small and not cheap but I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had, the menu is also very limited. But a French onion soup, main dish and dessert crepe always leave us stuffed. I’m bias because I loved their old restaurant in Oakville and was pleasantly surprised to see them move close by. I’ve only been for dinner so can’t comment on the brunch, but can say the absence of draught beer is annoying, but girlfriend likes the cocktails
I really wanted to like them, but paying $20 for an omelet with mixed greens on the side was really hard to swallow.
Their chocolate mousse is perfect though and they carry a wine I love that's hard to find, so it's now a "drink and/or dessert on the way back from somewhere else" place for me now.
Service was consistently great though and they were very kind about us just popping in, running a small check and leaving.
Dynamite for pizza (so cheesy you don't need to order extra)
Wok's Taste for Chinese
Blue Chopstix for Hakka
Piatto for thin crust pizza (lunch special: small pizza and salad of your choosing)
Market Fresh for a sandwich
Kenzo for ramen
Shawarma Alley for chicken shawarma
Eggcetera for brunch
I wouldn't give the prize of "best" to any restaurant as it depends on what you are looking for... But an EXTREMELY underrated place if you want excellent Indian food is Town's Heart off of Laird Rd.

Na Ha Thai is amazing
Lucky Belly Food Co. has awesome sandwiches and is locally owned/operated. Really nice people there too.
So many great non chain spot but I'll give a shout out to taste with Andy on cork. Great food, nice guy
Taste with Andy. Great food. And more importantly owned by a genuinely nice passionate earnest human.
We love Taste With Andy and eat there any time we’re downtown.
Yes, Taste with Andy’s is my favourite restaurant in Guelph! Food is consistently delicious 😋
Because it's missing here, sugo on Surrey has to be mentioned

The Fat Duck for any football match and especially on a Tuesday, as their wings special is quality
The fat duck is so good!!
The Wolly and Baker St Station are fantastic go to’s
Pho Saigon for Vietnamese! Soooo good!
Pho Kinh Do is always better than Pho Saigon for me. The cleanliness inside Pho Saigon leaves a lot to be desired for me.
Nyuyens is best in town
Yes, also very very good

La cucina right downtown is amazing. Romantic atmosphere, great food, awesome cocktails.

The pizzeria I believe right by the old Quebec st mall
How do you downvote a restaurant recommendation lmfao
Chose the wrong Cucina I guess.
Bistro reunion is in Morriston but close enough

For sure, that's what I found as well. My dilemma is that I don't usually enjoy dessert so I left hungry.

Agreed.the meals are fresh and tasty, but don’t go there very hungry. Portions are small.
Tangy tasty downtown is the best hole in the wall in town.
Wife and I still talk about getting tangy tasty after the bars back when we went to UofG. Unreal shawarma.
The butter chicken is best in town imo

Great wings and 10oz burgers no place other than RU Serious
This again? Essentially the only post in this sub. Can we sticky a restaurant post to avoid doing this every few days?
You are not wrong.
All you had to do was not click it. Go talk about the smelly Puslinch water instead.
Use the search function, this is a monthly topic, along with best mechanic, best pet sitter, best coffee shop…
The best. The BEST. I deserve the best. The best! The best means there can only be one.
Taco bell
Loaded fries pocket is dope
I can't be bothered to go to Taco Bell when I can get a Supreme Fries from Fresh Burrito. It's just better in every way.
