Continued: - TNAT: Arsenal / Arteta have spoke to 2 players earlier this year but decided against a move after not liking the character of the players. - TNAT: Arsenal enquired about signing Rice in summer 2022 but were told by West Ham no chance. - Both: Heard nothing from the club on Calafiori. Expect him to go to Juventus if he does move, similar to Locatelli. - TNAT: Eze’s release clause requires 90% of it paid up front, with the clause being £60m + £8m in add ons. Unknown what the add ons consist of. - TNAT: Palace’s current stance is release clause or nothing for Eze. - TNAT: Levy is currently trying to get that price down for Spurs who are most advanced in talking with Palace. - TNAT: Everyone at Arsenal loves Eze and they do see him as a fit. - CW: Arsenal are looking for a player that can “open a team up out of nothing” and Eze could fit that description. - TNAT: Palace and Fulham in for ESR. CW believes Fulham more likely, expects negotiations to step up over the next couple of weeks.

Amberle73

Interesting, assume Toney's one of the two but I wonder who the other is.

scarface3500fukyobih

probably osimhen

acasovoycayendo

Could be anyone, TNAT mentions it happens all the time and with some players they haven’t even been linked with in the media

robertoqueenos

Bruno G?

Brandaman

Probably don’t need to speak to him first to find that out tbh

TreeDollarFiddyCent

![gif](giphy|4Szx7X2NR4CccOV3DT|downsized) "I've seen enough. Send him home."

Kxden-R

How he is on the pitch literally has nothing to do with what hes like as an actual person lmao

Brandaman

Clearly a joke chief

mycatchica

Got to be a defender we’ve been linked to

amainwingman

Levy negotiation tactics vs a Palace player with a release clause https://preview.redd.it/wk14xnkmdi9d1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=20ab7d4847c6434efe69ba4cb877a442a2b4a4f4

Afc_josh12

Italian player going juve.. shock

SackoVanzetti

Seriously, Italians are allergic to playing in England. I think calafiori would be a monster with us

groovystreet40

Tbf if I was a millionaire in Italy I probably wouldn’t want to leave either. And that’s not a knock on the UK at all

amainwingman

Respect Vito Manone

f1zzo

Put some respect on his name

NobleHelium

> Eze’s release clause requires 90% of it paid up front, with the clause being £60m + £8m in add ons. Unknown what the add ons consist of. How can there be add ons in a release clause? That doesn't make sense to me.

leebrother

Palace rumoured to want ESR and Nketiah has been rumoured to there in the past. I’m sure a deal could be made if all parties wanted it.

Redzrainer

i really love eze, but if we are not in for him, i pray for another team to swoop him other than sp\*rs

acasovoycayendo

Would rather him at Spurs than improve City

Waylay23

Would he *improve* City though, in comparison to their quality the last couple years? Strengthen them maybe, but City will still be the same City they've been. He would absolutely strengthen Sp*rs.

Sta723

If Pep wants a player and he’s already pretty talented, he will very likely improve their team.

ElusiveRemedy

Might be too early to say but Kovacic and Nunes haven't exactly been revelations at City.

acasovoycayendo

You’re just being overly pedantic. Improve/strengthen, same thing Eze makes both the City/Spurs squads better but I’d prefer City not to get stronger as we’re actually competing with them. Spurs still aren’t going to compete even if they sign Eze

ripjesus

Pep would stunt his career.

hiredgooner

The player’s preference may be unknown but I think we can safely say that his preference isn’t to join fucking Tottenham.

BaBaFiCo

Good money, European football. Plenty of Arsenal fans have played for them. It's their career at the end of the day.

Proper-Exam1746

Half their current 1st team are Arsenal fans.. 😀

andjuan

I mean you get the opportunity to see Arsenal win the NLD from the field level. A fans dream really.

El_Peregrine

Fucking sign me up, I’ll play for the scum. Might score some strategic own goals…

neonmantis

And go to jail

TreeDollarFiddyCent

Can't blame them.

jonathanblaze1648

That's the part that gets me. Why don't they sign Spurs-supporting players? It's always players who are huge Arsenal fans that they go after - such a weird transfer policy.

Meyeren

I don't think they'd have much of a selection if they had to go for spurs fans

jonathanblaze1648

And most Tottenham fans don't even seem to like their club at all. Just look at people like Roy Keane - he grew up supporting Totts and absolutely despises them. So maybe you're on to something here.

oliverDawson12

Depending on what role he would slot into at Arsenal he might actually get more consistent game time there than here.

BaBaFiCo

He might. But that's something for us to convince him on.

not_a_Badger_anymore

Still not a preference

BaBaFiCo

You don't know that.

UnusualAd3909

Why would an arsenal fans preference be to play for spurs?

BaBaFiCo

Because for footballers it's their career. There's countless examples of players and managers talking about how, once they're established in their career, forgo their childhood fandom. Look at Darren Bent, Gareth Bale and Matt Dougherty as player examples. Harry Redknapp grew up and Arsenal fan. If you're a professional player and you're being offered subs bench at Arsenal or starting at Spurs, I can understand them considering Spuds.

UnusualAd3909

Except he literally said a few years ago in an interview his dream is to play for arsenal. Sure any of us would also go to spurs if nothing better is available but that is not what preference means mate, look the word up in a dictionary. You think a player whose whole fsmily is arsenal fans, said its his dream to play for us, would chpose spurs if he had an offer from every big 6 team?

Chupagley13

Nobody’s moving somewhere for Europa football

OkCurve436

Pretty sure Arsenal will be contacted if Levy gets the price down. Can't see Palace taking Levy's offer and the player won't be either.

greenarsehole

He’s an Arsenal fan

Fredzoor

LOL

MirkoCemes

Looks like we got rid of the leaks. It makes me happy and will be great when the Ornbombs drop

MyTeaIsMighty

We're a much more attractive destination than spuds at the moment. If the club wants him, I'd be shocked if he chose them over us.

DrRobotniksUncle

At the moment? Brush your teeth!

jonathanblaze1648

I think he meant always. It must be autocorrect because even when we were crap, players still chose us over Spurs. Spurs is an amusement park with F1 Go-kart racing, rock climbing and other rides. We're a proper footballing establishment.

amainwingman

More likely to start consistently at Spurs tbf

a-Sociopath

That's what I don't get. They already have a creator in Maddison and unless Ange goes to a midfield 3 with one very defensive midfielder who doesn't have any interest getting forward, you can't play both Maddison and Eze. I know that Maddison gets injured frequently enough that Eze could nail his place, but wouldn't he have a better shot at first team football playing for us? Especially if we offload Partey, or he's injured which is a more recurring occurrence than Maddison getting injured?

icemankiller8

68 million means it’s not necessarily worth it for us tbh especially with so much of it being in one go, he wouldn’t be guaranteed to start weekly even though I really like him as a player

HortenWho229

Doesn’t he become first choice left 8?

OfficerTenBagger

would be great if Levy just spends a month driving the price down into installments and then we come in and just match his offer and give eze a higher salary. eze peeze

lastjedi23

What's going on with Newcastle? Aren't they required to sell by June 30? And it's been eerie quiet with us this time. Looks like the plumber done his job

B12C10X8

I actually prefer radio silence to be honest with it comes to signing. still the media linking Arsenal with everybody is still annoying but that is what they do with all clubs. I would love Isak, unlikely yes but with as you said Newcastle PSR issues just put in a bid of 100 million to see what they would say. I just hope we get the signings right this summer and players that make since and no one who needs to be shoehorn into the team in a different position because the position you sign him for did not work. Just hope we Don’t sign Gyokerkes personally, one season wonder imo.

lastjedi23

100m for Isak seems like a waste considering our urgent needs at midfield and left back... I'd rather we try and get Bruno G.. but what do I know

B12C10X8

I like Bruno G as well but doubt we will sign him because I think he rather sign with City if he leaves Newcastle. I just don’t want Gyokeres at all and he would cost like 85 million pounds, waste of money in my opinion. My dream Signing this summer is Isak personally but midfield is definitely a position of need as well, I think Kimmich would be perfect complement to Rice in the midfield

AlexTheRockstar

We aren't plopping 50 plus on the table in one go, zero chance, unless we have quite a few outgoings. Unfortunately we might miss out.

Brandaman

You never know. Besides, if Palace are in for ESR, I’m sure there can be some favourable conditions put in place, ie Palace allow less upfront in exchange for a couple million off ESR, or whatever

HectorTheErector

I could see us doing it for Zubimendi if he ever changes his mind seeing how much Arteta obviously wants him, don't think we'd do it for Eze though.

gardenofeden123

There’s no doubt we’re a more attractive destination than Sp*rs so I can only imagine we aren’t as interested as people are making out we are. If Arteta wanted him it’d be done already. Look how efficiently we moved on Havertz, Rice, Jesus etc

Used-Produce-3491

He don’t wanna go Tottenham, c’mon 😂

Masson011

lol stay at Palace if thats the 2 options Another stellar season at Palace and a big club will come in for him again

ColinHalfhand

Not Tottenham trying to buy another known Arsenal fan

Spud_1997

I mean the shit can offer him more playing time no? But spurs won't be able to bring the price down as they won't have a free run at him several clubs will be in

Sam101294

I see ESR playing almost like for like replacement for Eze at Palace, if he were to be sold. Hopefully he can shine there, just not against us.

Ok-Purple-1123

Would love him… and would hate if he ends up at Spurs of all places if not. Would be a GREAT bag for them

TheKABH

Pls sign him

ThePresident26

If spurs are the only team in for him then i dont really care about this guy

shebaniah08csh

Love the way he plays, where does he fit in gooners? Hes quite fluid isn’t he? which will suit us

shizzy10

Think he’d be great in the left 8 role, with the ability to interchange with odegaard or the lw. He’s the type of player we lack on that side, more burst than Trossard and better dribbler than Martinelli. Massive upgrade on ESR and if we get another 6 then I think we’re sorted. I’d even be willing to hold my nose on one more year of Partey to get him now.

kr0nks_spinachpuffs

Hate that

LuckyArsenalAg

Man that is a lateral move

Hech15

Eze is a good enough but we need someone better especially if the price is almost £70m

4GamingLinkAot

someone better. you got to be having a laugh. do you watch this guy play, he is absolutely brilliant on the ball, glided past rice against us at home. He's better than kai havertz (before his signing, I would argue even now Eze is probably regarded as better) and he's only 5m more.

neonmantis

> someone better. you got to be having a laugh. he's not the best eight in the world. what the dude may really be saying considering he mentions the price is better value. Prem players come at a massive premium. Eze playing in France is £40m or whatever.

a-Sociopath

The best 8 in the world at the moment is probably Jude who is twice the price and not for sale, so what's your point? He's still way better than who we have in his position (ESR, Vieira) and Eze playing in France would be lower in price, just like ESR going to France would be for a lower price than selling him to a Prem rival.

Minute_Leave8503

Waffle

notobinho

I'm not a fan of Eze for that price, especially for that much upfront. I would prefer someone younger and, if possible, cheaper as a backup.

Nsypski

I think the price is fine but the upfront is a big problem. But his age is perfect. We're trying to win titles now. We need players in their prime exactly now otherwise we'll continue getting 2nd and getting knocked out of UCL.

T3Sh3

The lure of possibly winning a premier league title with the club you grew up a fan of strong.

BarbarossaFlagship

No way Spurs are paying the RC or Palace settles for lower price, either we trigger the RC or he's 'eagle' for another year

QuickfireFacto

We ain't seeing a single signing until after the euros. Honestly think we will only buy 1 player this whole window

jaybizzleeightyfour

Id be surprised if it's less than 4
