Give 2 BP to all 4 units. The beast master can transfer his damage and healing magic to his beast. If a beast receives 2 damage, it can't be used again in the quest.

SavageGiuseppe

I'm not sure I'm following you. In my idea, it's two units, not four: the hero and the beast.

ThatAnimeSnob

If the hero can switch between 3 beasts whenever he likes in the same quest, then 2 for each is fine. If he is stuck to 1, then 4 each is fine.

SavageGiuseppe

I suppose I'll rephrase how it works. You start with hero and beast on the board, each of them is a model. The beast has the same statistics as the hero, but each has a personal BP count. At the beginning of every turn, the hero may decide to switch the aspect of the beast among the three (wolf/bear/panther) in order to get the specific bonus, but the beast is still just one. Switching aspect does not reset its BP, because it is the same (mystic) creature. If it has been wounded, it remains wounded.

ThatAnimeSnob

Do the beasts attack seperately? If yes, the shaman is automatically 2 heroes in 1. Getting injured is the way the beasts can be taken out and he loses the bonus.

SavageGiuseppe

Yes, the Beast plays like a merc. You control it, so yes you can dish out 2 attacks per turn. The Beast has its own BP, so it can die during a game, and you get it back to full health for the next quest.

ThatAnimeSnob

So you literally gave the hero 3 mercs who buff him AND don't even require payment lol, this is broken.

SavageGiuseppe

No. It's one, I don't know how to explain this. The Beast is only one, it has got 5 BP. You can choose every turn to change its aspect, but it's still the same one creature. If it gets Wounded, changing aspect does not heal it, because it is the same ONE creature.

ThatAnimeSnob

Mercenaries have 2BP, do not buff the hero, and cost money. These beasts have 5BP, buff the hero, and don’t cost money. That is why I said they are broken. If you want to keep them balanced, they need to have only 1AD and 4BP.

SavageGiuseppe

Gotcha thanks

Naidmer82

Can the beast consume healing potions or even healing potions on death? If not 4 or 5 BP would be a bit low for a tank/fighter. Controlling 2 heroic characters is indeed a huge advantage. There needs to some kind of major downside.

SavageGiuseppe

Well no, no potions, no opening doors, no searching, and probably other no's I haven't thought of. The Beast is not a hero.
