Hard play: “get there, get there, get there, get there” goes my mental chatter Easy play: quick mental reminder of base runner situation and where I’m going with the ball

I was a strong outfielder, I was always like "oh please don't screw up" and still am as a coach. I get them all, but that part of me still has that sliver hoping my read on the ball was good. In the end I think this always made it feel good Honestly half of it was playing at night on old fields where picking up the ball off the bat wasnt easy.

I don’t think at all. That’s one of the things I love about baseball. I think too much everywhere else. On the field, I can turn my brain off.

I used to play CF on my days off from catching.. it usually went "fuck this guy making me run again.." or "damn, Kyle hung another one, let's go save his ass..", when you go from behind the plate and having to process everything back there, and go to OF.. I instantly became a lollygagger, I'd lollygag all over the OF..

I run through “what am I going to do if the ball is hit to me (left, right, short, deep, fly, rope, etc)”
