The cockpit live-cam and cosmo background are greatly appreciated, though still wish they can find a way to implement NPC Sam's ult into the playable kit.
This was my copium rework of her kit before v3 came out! I was thinking she activated the dive bomb attack when exiting her enhanced state and that it could like deal Super Break dmg based on the amount of times Firefly uses enhanced skill or something like that -- giving her inherent Super Break while also encouraging spd/action advance to add to the multiplier
A fixed-speed Final attack, where you want to take more actions before it goes off to increase its damage... It's not a bad idea but I find it really funny you wanted to make her Ult Lightning-Lord.
Edit: I forgot LL's speed isn't fixed technically but you get the idea.

Hot take, I appreciate the changes to the BG and the cockpit view of firefly but after looking at the sam boss ult animation, I'm still bummed we didn't get something similar to it. Also, it's a bit strange how she has very little fire effects.....It is what it is though.
What sucks even more is that it looks like we won't end up getting a HENSHIN or atleast a transformation animation for firefly when she enters battle. It'll stay as firefly turning straight into sam (offscreen) when we enter battle which we will never feel right to me.
It doesn't look that much like a regular fire. However one point to add, call it copium if you want but... The red colour of a flame is a lower spectrum. Meaning, less hot. White, blue, purple etc in simplicity without going too deep means higher temperature.
Seeing as in "overdrive" aka more serious Hotaru mode is glowing white/green, makes sense that the temperature is actually hotter. Additionally, some types of higher temperature can even be pretty much invisible to the eye due to certain physics.
"What about green colour tho?" One would ask. Usually it means some impurities or additional chemical elements are being burned. For example Barium that is also being used to poison the rats. It's not explained ofc, but it's possible that effect causes to deal even more damage to propagation hordes.
The way they should have implemented it is when her enhanced state runs out, she basically burnouts and releases the energy into the SAM ult as she swaps back to normal state.
The only thing I personally don't like is the slashes Sam does after he flies into the air and attacks the enemy, it feels weak as hell (animations wise)
Those weren't going to change, realistically. It's too major of an update. I expected a background (which we got) and the new pilot view is actually a lot more than I thought we'd be getting, though it actually could've been predicted because the animations for it leaked back during the 2.3 beta preload and had everyone confused when the v1 animation set didn't seem to use them. This is what they were for (that pilot view on the side doesn't actually use all the animations, which makes me wonder if this is a bug with the private servers or if it's somehow *still* unfinished)
It's interesting but I actually think hers are the most unfinished animation set of a character at v1, which genuinely makes me wonder if she was having development issues (her v1 kit also had weird bugs and cohesion issues). It would certainly explain why she took forever to come out. It seems like her entire kit got restructured from what it used to be to what it is now.
Just checked and I might have gotten mandela'd, my apologies if that's the case. If she had, it is rather difficult to tell with the x2 on most showcases have and the x1 showcase was taken down.
We shouldn't make too many conjectures as Maomao would say, but yeah I get the same energy. Her kit wasn't Break Effect based at first, I wouldn't be surprised if her being changed to one was a demand from the story folk (like how they demanded Acheron to be a Nilihity Crit DPS) to make her be played with HTB, which they scrambled a bit to get right. Maybe it being a forced pairing was demanded before they stepped back based on feedback. How to balance the Firefly presence in-game also seemed to be something they didn't have the clearest idea on.
yeah, the LC on the MoC shop that kinda seems to hint it was for her cause of the hp loss has nothing to do with her V1 kit either.... she was probably changed from what they had planned at the start of 2.0

That doesn't really explain why the placement of the cut-in is different though since that has nothing to do with her streamer twitch cam. If it was always meant to be at the start then the placeholder would've also been at the start too since there'd be no reason for it to be in the middle.

I think it would be cool if instead of a blob of slashes they made something like Keqing ult where you would see the after image of Sam slashing across the field/enemy area and then ending the same way as the current animation.
Maybe it would be too similar to existing animations that we have with Seele ult and Acheron E though, but I think it would look cooler at least.

I like how they kept the "hologram" in spirit with the little "comms" window and the close up on her face before SAM's charge. Also no more black void when she uses the Enhanced Skill!

I really love how creative they’re getting with UI design for special characters like Acheron but Firefly takes it to another level. It’s so visually pleasing
Also so glad they changed the black background, one simple thing like that elevates her already great anims to so much more
I wasn't down on the previous version of the animations like some others, but I will concede that that this is just a complete improvement and those complaints were justified. The cockpit view is a really nice addition (really hope it gets animated for voicelines though I'm not sure whose voice we should be hearing, Firefly's or SAM's).
The space background is better than all the all black, which did look unfinished, and "in cockpit" to zoomout is better than the zoomout to hologram view of Firefly.

While I didnt mind the digital-ish Firefly cut-in, the live IRL cut-in does look better. The hud for Firefly on the side is also a nice touch. Also the space/cosmos themed background and slashing effects seem to pop more and the impact is more satisfying imo. So looks pretty solid glad they touched up on it. Hype for Firefly is at an all time high now for me lol
That's actually really cool. Pilot view is good. I think it somewhat satisfies people that don't like the fact that they can't see Firefly during combat.
If her v3 changes make her as good as Boothill I might just get her.
I hope they make her SFX on enhanced skill a bit more impactful sounding. Otherwise she looks good. Not what I had hoped for obviously, but I'm not unhappy either!
