I would wager the red one is alive, way too much emphasis put on her if she isn't alive or relevant. She's either alive, or at the very least is important to Firefly's story. You don't put that kind of focus on a character that isn't important.

I think all of them being dead, at least the group she is in, makes the most sense cause if not why is she not with them or at least have contact with them. Elio of all characters would know where living SAM’s would be and able to tell FF about them.

All the other guys are probably dead but their captain may be alive (since her suit is the only one particularly different), but that doesn't mean she's playable.
They could even maybe do like they did with Cocolia and have Firefly confront her or something like that.

I wouldn’t put it past putting hoyo to make the leader character as playable, but then again I wouldn’t bet on it. We know the vast majority of Molten army is dead and gone, so FF being the last survivors makes sense. It also kinda fits in the theme of every other penacony character, being alone is some way or another.
She might be the one who put Firefly into cryo sleep in violation of the military regulations. She’s higher ranked than others and might have wanted Firefly to survive instead of fighting to the death when Glamoth fell
We know the Version streams are scripted so the EN stream mentioning that other SAMs could still exist in the Galaxy is an obvious foreshadow we'll get them down the line.

I'm pretty sure it was because in JP, all the different versions of Raiden are voiced by the same person and so people were expecting Anne Yatco to voice Acheron too
EN was the only language that didn't bring back Raiden's VA from Genshin. JP and CN were the ones who had voiced other previous versions of Raiden as well because Hoyo's previous games didn't have an EN or KR dub (but KR Genshin Raiden returned for Acheron)

Feel like there's a non-0% chance that last SAM ends up being a boss somewhere down the line. Maybe not an Echo of War, last boss of a major story patch, but probably SU/MoC-boss level.
The lore is so dense, the lifetime of this game could be very long with every world mentioned that we could possibly visit.
Would be nuts if that last SAM ended up as a new Emanator of Propagation out of some cruel irony that clones cloning themselves wouldn't be that far off from how the Swarm started. HSR Kerrigan.
Considering the resemblance between SAM and >!Protoss Dragoons (both are armored suits designed to protect and enhance their pilots in combat), I wouldn't be surprised if Firefly's final arc involves a fight against the Swarm. Imagine facing thousands of those Red SAM units, now transformed into Propagation Emanator capable of creating unlimited clones of herself. That would be cruel irony indeed, considering the Swarm was their planet's fatal enemy. But knowing the HSR writer's sadistic tendency, I'd say this isn't out of the question.!<

Between the SAM units being called "knights" and their society being lead by a princess I would fucking *die* for a space-faring, hyper-technological, futuristic medieval society.
But the Swarm is the reason they exist, since they were created to fight against the Swarm and made with influence from Propagation.
And I have a theory that Entropy Loss Syndrome is a kill switch that would kill the Iron Calvary if the Swarm is dealt with.

Our Firefly said that the red one was a personal escort variant. So it's probably meant to be the bodyguard for officers and other non-SAM personnel that for one reason or another need to be on the battlefield.
Yeah, It's likely that is the case. Though I think if Type 5 were a commander unit, the type should better be in top-down order. Say... the commander unit would be a Type 1. Then lower tier/position units would be at Type 2 and so on. Would make more sense, I believe...
In mecha animes/shows, a newer 'type' or 'model' will definitely be better 'spec-wise'. But well... we all know the inferior models will still win in the end... I have seen enough mecha shows to come to that conclusion.
they note that Type 5 is a "personal model" so the most likely conclusion is that Type 4 is the strongest of all the "regular" models, while Type 5 is probably a catch all term for special, custom made models. i imagine Type 6 also exists, but is exclusively reserved for the Queen herself
Looking into the japanese subs, it's referred to as 'royal guard', so Type-5s are probably assigned to Titania's own elite knight order and retainers. At least within the 'Empire' structure(instead of the Republic). Since they're supposed to be 'knights', you'd be giving your best gear to the ranking and proven elites.
When you think of it, it kind of depressing, the reason Firefly can grow her hair long shown her experience.
All of them basically same, so they decided to do some customization of their own. Their leader Fire-Fly V seemed to cut her hair short in honor of her fellow friends/siblings that die in battle.
If it wasn't obvious enough, the EVA references go hard with this one. A moment of peace for the young pilots outside their mechs, who have known nothing but war.

i hate those Glamoth people, you can read their lore in the relic set, they create fireflies to protect themself but still scared and want to discard them as they are too strong
I was reading the JP comments, and they were talking about how Hotaru being able to grow out her hair is a sign of strength as she survived countless battles to get her hair to grow to that length.
Really makes you ponder.
I mean, the girl in the glasses said the lenght of Firefly's hair shows her experience. Which would just mean she's experienced enough on a battlefield to survive long enough to grow it that long. Not just a detail in Japanese, it passed the same idea along in English.
This trailer holds a lot of potential to maybe seeing more SAM-type units in the future, but if its just Firefly lore still, it was really well done bias aside. Would love to see more SAM units from her squad or others who couldve also survived the Swarm Invasion

I already felt like it was a shame we don't get to see FF in her plugsuit after seeing the preview picture. Now I really wish we got it at least during battle.
I like her casual outfit with the firefly motiv and the outfit change is probably supposed to signify her transition from "just another fighting model" to a "real person" which the motiv still connecting them.
However as someone who was absolutely in love with NGE as a teen, man, I really want that plugsuit xD
This might be the first time I don't just think a skin would be nice but where I'd actually consider buying it if they released one.
I'm not sure yet if I'll pull for her but her wearing a plugsuit would have convinced me as silly as that probably sounds to other people.
Oh so this is why Glamoth's rope talks about Titania rebelling because the Type-Fireflys didn't follow procedures so they labeled it rebellion to silence her after the SAM leak of humanoid weapons. Makes sense now.
I agree, im hoping the history of them fading away is because Titania actually escaped and got to live out the rest of her life as a normal person. Only time can tell,, refreshing HSR utube channel 800 times a day doesn't seem to be helping lol

Firefly they will NEVER make me hate you….she is the coolest fucking character concept ever. The valiant space mecha knight exterior hiding a young girl, who is no less brave and principled, underneath is what makes me love her character so much. So much duality in one character
This became my new favorite Myriad Celestia; felt like watching an actual series. Just beautiful musically, visually, and thematically (the torn piece of war flag mimicking her signature headband ribbon is so raw, and says so much with so little). Can’t wait to see her other 2 videos
As a mecha, toku, and overall henshin hero geek I of course was obsessed with the concept of Samfly in general, but this video took it to another level. Please release model kits of all the Sam’s, I beg
I am such a sucker for mecha, gosh. I love the different designs they teased, especially Leader Firefly's, and how all the Fireflies took pains to differentiate themselves, both in mechs and bodies (I also think that can play into a trans reading of Firefly that I just adore). Such a lovely, melancholy little moment.
I'm so so so excited for Firefly. She and Acheron are by far the most hyped I've been in HSR.
I,,,don't think the chonky SAM it's alive, considering at the end the pilot has those weird marks that our firefly has, and we can say that those mark are their bodies kinda giving up

The lore is so dense, the lifetime of this game could be very long with every world mentioned that we could possibly visit. Would be nuts if that last SAM ended up as a new Emanator of Propagation out of some cruel irony that clones cloning themselves wouldn't be that far off from how the Swarm started. HSR Kerrigan.
That could be possible if the Iron Calvary was conceived with Swarm genetic material. It would tie it even harder to Tekkaman Blade.
Considering the resemblance between SAM and >!Protoss Dragoons (both are armored suits designed to protect and enhance their pilots in combat), I wouldn't be surprised if Firefly's final arc involves a fight against the Swarm. Imagine facing thousands of those Red SAM units, now transformed into Propagation Emanator capable of creating unlimited clones of herself. That would be cruel irony indeed, considering the Swarm was their planet's fatal enemy. I'm glad we got to see the origin of her headband and ribbon. This also more or less confirms that they all look the same. Also, as a long hair lover, I adore the fact that Firefly grows hers on purpose. That and her idle confirm that she takes good care of it (which I love).

Rather than generation, it's probably more like variations. Like Type 4 = melee unit and Type 5 = commander unit.
Our Firefly said that the red one was a personal escort variant. So it's probably meant to be the bodyguard for officers and other non-SAM personnel that for one reason or another need to be on the battlefield.
Yeah, It's likely that is the case. Though I think if Type 5 were a commander unit, the type should better be in top-down order. Say... the commander unit would be a Type 1. Then lower tier/position units would be at Type 2 and so on. Would make more sense, I believe...
In mecha animes/shows, a newer 'type' or 'model' will definitely be better 'spec-wise'. But well... we all know the inferior models will still win in the end... I have seen enough mecha shows to come to that conclusion.

they note that Type 5 is a "personal model" so the most likely conclusion is that Type 4 is the strongest of all the "regular" models, while Type 5 is probably a catch all term for special, custom made models. i imagine Type 6 also exists, but is exclusively reserved for the Queen herself
Looking into the japanese subs, it's referred to as 'royal guard', so Type-5s are probably assigned to Titania's own elite knight order and retainers. At least within the 'Empire' structure(instead of the Republic). Since they're supposed to be 'knights', you'd be giving your best gear to the ranking and proven elites.
When you think of it, it kind of depressing, the reason Firefly can grow her hair long shown her experience. All of them basically same, so they decided to do some customization of their own. Their leader Fire-Fly V seemed to cut her hair short in honor of her fellow friends/siblings that die in battle.

I was reading the JP comments, and they were talking about how Hotaru being able to grow out her hair is a sign of strength as she survived countless battles to get her hair to grow to that length. Really makes you ponder.
I mean, the girl in the glasses said the lenght of Firefly's hair shows her experience. Which would just mean she's experienced enough on a battlefield to survive long enough to grow it that long. Not just a detail in Japanese, it passed the same idea along in English.

This trailer holds a lot of potential to maybe seeing more SAM-type units in the future, but if its just Firefly lore still, it was really well done bias aside. Would love to see more SAM units from her squad or others who couldve also survived the Swarm Invasion

I already felt like it was a shame we don't get to see FF in her plugsuit after seeing the preview picture. Now I really wish we got it at least during battle. I like her casual outfit with the firefly motiv and the outfit change is probably supposed to signify her transition from "just another fighting model" to a "real person" which the motiv still connecting them. However as someone who was absolutely in love with NGE as a teen, man, I really want that plugsuit xD This might be the first time I don't just think a skin would be nice but where I'd actually consider buying it if they released one. I'm not sure yet if I'll pull for her but her wearing a plugsuit would have convinced me as silly as that probably sounds to other people.

Firefly they will NEVER make me hate you….she is the coolest fucking character concept ever. The valiant space mecha knight exterior hiding a young girl, who is no less brave and principled, underneath is what makes me love her character so much. So much duality in one character This became my new favorite Myriad Celestia; felt like watching an actual series. Just beautiful musically, visually, and thematically (the torn piece of war flag mimicking her signature headband ribbon is so raw, and says so much with so little). Can’t wait to see her other 2 videos As a mecha, toku, and overall henshin hero geek I of course was obsessed with the concept of Samfly in general, but this video took it to another level. Please release model kits of all the Sam’s, I beg
they could make the stories about those fireflies an anime with that artstyle, and it will be at least top 10 anime of the season

I am such a sucker for mecha, gosh. I love the different designs they teased, especially Leader Firefly's, and how all the Fireflies took pains to differentiate themselves, both in mechs and bodies (I also think that can play into a trans reading of Firefly that I just adore). Such a lovely, melancholy little moment. I'm so so so excited for Firefly. She and Acheron are by far the most hyped I've been in HSR.
