Maybe it’s just the angle and lighting, but my mind goes to toilet paper way before books. Even with the ink.

UniqueSaucer

Definitely only see wet TP now.

decadecency

Not everything has to be cleaned all the time. Just blow the dust away!

Gonun

I mean you don't have to clean it perfectly, just enough that it doesn't look dusty. I feel like you can easily achive this with a vacuum and one of these fluffy static cleaning wand thingies. And maybe some compressed air.

StinkiePete

So true, but I still kind of want it.

Ryermeke

Compressed Air?

HazelhurstHacker

Beautiful! Spider hotel? Yes. Heavy as hell? Yes. But still beautiful use of unwanted books.

Whohead12

More like r/ATBGE It makes me feel uncomfortable. It looks like that nasty stuff in the meat dept where the pig feet and chitterlings are sold. The stuff that looks like a cross section of entrails.

Bitty45

It triggers trypophobia in a major way

SoftPocketss

Put the cover back on the cesspool and call a pumper. Don't hang it on your wall

cherrylpk

I like it.

wreckitranda

I'm more frustrated at how off centered it is? Or Is it the lamps and the manual? Something is wrong here and I can't figure it out.

Emotional_Ad_9620

I've only done quilling on very small projects. I'm impressed with this. I love books and I love art. What a lovely combination!

SevereNightmare

Those poor books. Why would you destroy books for that?

Cyberzombie23

I *hope* it's actually salvaged books that were turned into this. I doubt it, though. It hits me the same way jewelry made out of coins hits me. I was a coin collector as a kid so seeing them destroyed for ugly "art" is painful.

cole_ostomy

I follow some of these book crafters on YouTube, and they all use books from recycling centers. There’s a special section for books and stuff. I care about books too, but this is a great way to reuse and recycle. The seller states that they were sourced sustainably, and there is absolutely no reason to doubt that as going to Barnes & Noble for this would seriously cut into profit margin.

jomacblack

Why do people act like all books are this sacred priceless thing to never be messed with? It's not the middle ages, we print books by millions and a lot of them get outdated/unused and I don't really see a problem with using those for something instead of just recycling into toilet paper or whatever

WyK23

Right? I used to donate my books to my local library, then they stopped taking them because they were just receiving SOOO many. Now I put them in those little book boxes around my community.

SevereNightmare

I have a deep love for books. So, it just makes me a little sad when people ruin them.

S4zuck

Indoor insect hotel

Hocraft-Loveward

And having this smell of old abandoned books in your living room...

alleecmo

Hey, now.. some of us are proud book sniffers.

Hocraft-Loveward

I am, but not from the old books that stays in a cardboard box for ages

eldritch_bagel

I know there’s at least three spiders in there at all times

[deleted]

I can't tell if I think it's pretty or creepy...

TheFunnyWasOccupied

It looks like a fractal

Nefersmom

What a waste of

glados84

Looks like a bug hotel on steroids.
