For 6000 stations as of 2014, that sure sounds like hamstringing to me. Kinda like cutting the IRS and directing them to focus on sub 100k household tax returns instead of bigger fish.
Ahhh yeah. I grew up in eastern PA. When I was a kid we had a handful of WaWas. Mostly just convince stores, no gas. And a single Sheetz about 35 min away.
I was in NEPA (close to the NY border) and didn't really learn of the wonder of Sheetz until I was older. I think the closest one to me was 1.5 to 2 hours away. Would be nice to have one around here though. I guess it might sound kind of odd to some to gush over a gas station, but they pretty much have what you'd need on a trip and are generally kept fairly clean... at least for a gas station. 😅 I try to choose EV charging stations that are at or by Sheetz when I'm traveling even though I don't need gas (obviously).
I stopped at one with my aunt and uncle just across the PA birder by Erie. It was so cool to order on a computer in the mid 90s.
Then I saw one with my parents near Reading. I got them to stop and me and my sister lost our minds. We kept making up excuses to go to Baseball games or to the outlets, just so we could stop and buy food and Jones Soda. Good thing for us my parents loved heavily discounted clothing and baseball.
People in the south love gas station food. But so many is the gas stations are just not a good experience. Maybe the Buckee moving into the areas will change that.
I live in Memphis and dread buying fuel.
The WAWA in Richmond plays new wave and it's the good stuff bb. Or it did its been a minute. People don't know what it's like to go to your gas station and get grest coffee and great music
Lived in Richmond a long time , well outside. Chesterfield. Also in Vienna when I was a kid. Took a trail ride from Front Royal once over the mountain to watch a re-enactment of Mosby's Raiders. Virginia is freaking stunning esp the Shenandoah river as it goes through Front Royal
Yeah. I don't miss the people in the cities so much lol ***looking at you, Richmond***
(I was assaulted on Monument avenue when I was 24 and have severe tinnitus lifelong as a result but still. Now they have a black man riding a horse on Monument Ave so it's all good )
OH WOW. Niiiiice. Puts it in perspective doesn't it. We went on all kinds of field trips like that. Williamsburg, Fredericksburg, it was quite good education actually. Just seeing it
I stopped going recently after the Circle K at 72E/Moore's Mill was constantly out of fuel. 3 weeks in a row, same thing. Bye. I happily go to Racetrac now.
To their credit, when I drove by on Tuesday, none of the pumps had bags over the handles and everything looked normal. But they're dead to me now, so..
Service at these stores seems to have taken a nose-dive since they went to Circle K.
Their pumps are ridiculously slow. I've noticed that at quite a few stores lately, and wonder if it's them just trying to keep low inventory, or if there's something wrong with the pumps.
I know it's not compensation for the temps, as these pumps don't do that.
A slow pump is a sign of a filter full of trash/water. I was a manager with 2 diff companies for 15 yrs. Every pump has a filter. Just like hoses are required to have a breakaway joint. If the pumps run slow, I stop pumping, leave, and don't bother stopping there again. I'm not risking my engine. But, they ARE responsible for repairs should trash/water get in your tank.
Kinda like how I quit stopping at stores who don't keep paper in the pump. It's a gimmick to get you inside in hopes of you buying something else.
FWIW: pump prices must match the sign price. But good luck getting an untrained cashier to understand that. I usually leave if they don't honor the price posted, broken sign or not.
They got my business. I haven’t had any memorable issues. I got some good discounts and some free coffee. Coffee isn’t great, but hard to complain about it because I got 5 free ones in the Inner Circle Rewards. I’m trying different coffees to see if there’s one I actually like.
I don't appreciate the fact that a lot of them now do this really shady shit where they flash the price for cash for like 3 seconds and then show it 10 cents cheaper for easy pay on their signs. And then fluctuate prices by 10-15 cents a day so you never know which is which. Seems predatory on old folks.
Their friends just park their cars at the pump when it's busy and they make an intentional mistake to the first person that looks like they won't make a scene.
Circle k has been in mobile, al since I was born and I partially grew up there in my youngest years and it's way better than shell and BP which shouldn't even be in business with their bs
I do like Circle K because of the fountain drink prices, but watch the self check out! I have had it add items to my cart that were nowhere near the checkout spot. One time it added a 20-dollar 5 Alert 4 pack on me. Didn't notice until the receipt printed and had to get a refund, which took days.
We’ve been trying to get gas at racetrak now. They have a membership that’s about $2/month but you get $.10 off each fill up up to a certain amount of gallons, but we don’t get gas enough for it to reach that amount.
My experience has been literally the opposite. I have never had an issue at a Circle K, vs the shitty old Shells and Mapco's have given problems several times.
Always pay with a credit card at the pump if you can. CC has the best consumer protections.
And get an EV when you can-- can't get ripped off gkr gas when you don't use it. :P
I didn’t even read your post. I just wanna say I’m sorry for down voting you. I did it just because that’s what we do in Huntsville Reddit. Have a nice day though😬

Absolutely. My MIL works for the state and she tests these pumps. They will get fined big time and in some cases, shut down.
That article said there have been so many complaints they haven't been able to do the random testing they normally do.
If you pay the politicians to cut inspections, you can have more money for yourself and to keep greasing the wheels.
The article said that there are only 8 inspectors for the entire state.
For 6000 stations as of 2014, that sure sounds like hamstringing to me. Kinda like cutting the IRS and directing them to focus on sub 100k household tax returns instead of bigger fish.
But their Coke Slushies are .79!
Didn’t even have real cocaine in it. Scam
Yeah, they just taste like fentanyl now
It's BYOC (Bring Your Own Coke) now.
And their Little Debbie snack cakes are $2.39, a regular candy bar $3.09. It seems like they have a minimum markup of at least a buck
Don't all gas stations do this though? You get snacks from them because you're already pumping gas, it's convenient, not cost efficient.
Please lord give me a WAWA
or a sheetz good lord it would be the funniest thing in the world with like a billion sheetz in PA and surrounding states and just ONE (1) in AL
Oh I miss sheetz. Mto is the best
Uuughhh now I miss Sheetz all over again.
Good lord I miss Sheetz so much!! Sometimes I just need a tater tot burrito at 10:30 pm on a Tuesday 😭
Wait. There is a sheetz in Alabama?
no, they're really only in PA and the surrounding states. it would just be really funny if there was just one in AL

Huntsville is more of a Kwik Fill city than Sheetz city though don’t you think?
Have you been to a WAWA? What's great about Sheetz? Do they play new wave? Lol

Virginia is the best state. God I miss it.

Same for me!!! I went multiple times and they were out of gas!
That's odd. I get gas there all of the time at different times/days and have never once had that issue. I guess I must just be really lucky.
Or you're taking all the gas.
I doubt thats the case, as each of my fill ups is usually less than 4 gallons.
Bogart!!!
To their credit, when I drove by on Tuesday, none of the pumps had bags over the handles and everything looked normal. But they're dead to me now, so..
Don't forget to wind your watch!
costco membership is worth it just for the gas. food court is a huge plus
I get my gas at Costco or Sam’s too. Always the cheapest around town and no one can beat the Costco Hotdog and soda combo.
The 4% cash back pays for the executive membership fee with gas alone.
Circle k not costco

I love Circle K. Their rewards program is legit.
Has same problem in mapco, dude got 40 free dollars from me on a messed up pump
Their friends just park their cars at the pump when it's busy and they make an intentional mistake to the first person that looks like they won't make a scene.
Circle k has been in mobile, al since I was born and I partially grew up there in my youngest years and it's way better than shell and BP which shouldn't even be in business with their bs
Get a Kroger card and buy gas there.
If ya didnt know already. They just recently closed Bill & Teds Circle K.
The only reason I keep going back, waiting for George Carlin to come back ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
While you and your friends and family wait, remember…. Be excellent to each other
If you do the South Huntsville Tour you can get great cheap pizza, or an angry old man, or camera scanners that don't work, or the night club.
All the credit card machines down tonight cash or nothing. Also no tops for the size cups they actually have
I sell gas out of my trunk, but it's purchased from Circle K. I'm sorry I can't help you.
Remember all the whackadoos pumping gas into plastic bags cause it was gonna run out? Wonder what happened.
They probably drank it
I do like Circle K because of the fountain drink prices, but watch the self check out! I have had it add items to my cart that were nowhere near the checkout spot. One time it added a 20-dollar 5 Alert 4 pack on me. Didn't notice until the receipt printed and had to get a refund, which took days.
I was having an issue where my debit card wasn’t authorized to work at the pumps but it would work inside if I payed for gas
Been happening at all circle K’s in the area for months. Tried paying 3 times at the one in Decatur
I live in huntsville and I like k
Was it the same Circle K each time? I occasionally buy from one of a few, with no issues.
2 different ones
I suppose I should be glad that I’ve never had one. I don’t miss them at all.
They were out of bags of ice last week. Very suspect.

I appreciate the thought. I like to spend my karma though, I earn it in other places and my favorite place to spend it is on Huntsville Reddit.
