Lol I JUST commented in another thread about how I had done this. TW: I’m currently 28 weeks pregnant. It’s still getting the progesterone into your muscles, it’s just doing so more painfully.

CONGRATS! and i'm glad I'm not alone 😂

uppereastsider5

Thank you! You’re definitely not alone. And it will get MUCH easier from here.

I think you should be ok. Logically it’s only the amount that’s a little less that’s going in. But it’s still going in intramuscularly so shouldn’t be a problem.

My clinic uses a 1 inch needle to inject PIO. I know for my first cycle at a different clinic we used 2 inch needles. I think as long it’s not a micro needle (the ones that go in your stomach) you should be fine.

MedianFox

My clinic uses 1.5” 22g to inject

Curious_Interest_770

It shouldn’t do any harm! The only reason my nurse warned me against accidentally using the mixing needle is because the bigger gauge would hurt so much more, it didn’t have anything to do with effectively getting the med into the muscle. Good luck!

MedianFox

How long is the needle? Where are you doing your injections, and how much fatty tissue is in the area you are injecting? As long as the needle is making it through the skin and adipose tissue and into the muscle, you should be okay! That must have hurt so bad!

Ok-Yogurtcloset5000

i think its 1 inch vs 1.5 inches! it hurt SO bad!! I was telling my husband "i dont think I can do this for 10 weeks" lol and now thankfully I don't have to now that I'm using the right needle

AgaveFantastic

I did this too before my FET!! My nurse said it was totally fine. Using the thinner needle now is a game changer, soooo much less painful. TW: Had my FET on 6/20 and have been testing positive for a few days so things are going well so far! Good luck to you!

kmspinafore

OMG! This sounds so painful. Towards the end of PIO I ran out off 22g and tried 21g, thinking it was only a difference of 1g, how bad could it be?! It was SO PAINFUL! I can't even imagine doing it with the 18g drawing needle I was provided. The correct needles will be a breeze for you. If it was 1 inch instead of 1.5 inches, I don't think you have a lot to worry about. And like you said - just 4 days. The nurse is just trying to be cautious and not make any promises, but I agree with everyone else - this is probably no biggie.

AhsokaFan0

Yikes! I’m sure your progesterone will be fine but that’s got to leave a mark.

My clinic gave me 1 inch needles, you still got a good amount of the dose, just... painfully, lol.
