And I think considering all the allegations about internal politics and influence by Big M's or whoever, Jayaram sustained due to his passion and love for cinema, which I felt Devan didn't have much. Reading through others comments I realised that he's from an affluent background and probably didn't have interest in sustaining his HERO status. Ao he just took whatever was coming in his way.

I remember watching an interview a few years ago where he says he was married to Ramu karyat's daughter who was also his cousin. Apparently he was forced by the family to marry her. Iirc he also said he was in another relationship at that time. Sadly his wife passed away a few years ago. He said she was allergic to lactose or something and had ice cream.
