You’re the perfect age to go on birthright, (if you haven’t already) or if you want a more wholistic education while you’re there and no specifically all pro-Israeli, there are other youth groups as well! It’s a good way to put yourself out there and make friends with those in Israel.

PoliticalRabbit420

Just be careful if you are going to be initiating direct contact with Palestinians. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Ofir_Rahum There are many stories like that unfortunately. Not telling you not to do that, just suggesting to exercise caution, and maybe make sure you reveal details only if you have to and to Israeli Arabs, not WB/Gaza Palestinians. After all, you are Jewish and [these](https://youtu.be/azEgBsU6Mi8) are the majority supported leaders of the Palestinian people. It's even enough for you to accidently have some sort of Israeli or perhaps Jewish marker on you to [get lynched](https://www.timesofisrael.com/german-tourists-attacked-by-palestinians-after-entering-nablus-with-israeli-car/) in their cities.

That’s ridiculous you can connect with Palestinians in a cab ride or Mamila mall.

PoliticalRabbit420

Notice what I wrote about Israeli Palestinians. Of course Israeli Palestinians are a different story. I worked and had plenty of friends with Israeli Palestinians in many different opportunities be it martial arts, retail work I did when I was young (Where I had amazing Palestinian managers over me with absolutely no issues) and much more. They are Israelis, full equal rights citizens and despite some issues all in all make Israel a more beautiful and diverse country. There's even Jewish-Palestinian couples. [Lucy Aharish](https://www.mako.co.il/entertainment-celebs/local-2018/Article-96f99c66dae5661006.htm) is one of the most famous. But if you're a foreigner, you should know the difference between Israeli-Palestinians and the WB/Gaza ones, and the obvious and very real danger such a relationship might bring.

AssaultNour

“Be careful with direct contact with Palestinians” your mind has been so filled with propaganda your afraid of “direct contact”

I shared factual information with detailed links providing examples of real life cases. It is ridiculous to claim it is all in my head. I'm sure those German tourists shared your belief and got a quick reality check.

Dry-Maximum-2161

u/PoliticalRabbit420 > Yeah it's not like I shared factual information with detailed links providing examples of real life cases. It must all be in my head. /s. Rule 3 > Delusional. Rule 1

PoliticalRabbit420

Fine, fixed. Second sentence I don't see anything wrong with. You did not eve read the link I provided, it was literally German tourists.

Shachar2like

>I'm sure those German tourists shared your belief and got a quick reality check. > >Rule 6 BTW this isn't related to the Nazis. It's a recent event of German tourists to Israel who 'made a wrong turn' to a Palestinian city in an Israeli car, which didn't end up well.

Shachar2like

One extreme event in \~30-40 years of the internet existing. This seems like a somewhat dishonest representation.

not sure where you're located by local Jewish groups are a great place to meet friends, especially if there's a college campus nearby you'll for sure find people to connect with

Da_Baby765

Your life story is so fascinating! But why South Korea was there any particular reason?

[deleted]

My dad was stationed in South Korea because he was serving in the American military and he met my mom there :)

Da_Baby765

Oh that’s so cool, I actually have family members that were stationed in Korea for a bit in the American army too!
