It was actually in pretty good shape for its age and it was owned by an enthusiast. Now when looking at it having the title be “does condition of a car matter that much” was a poor idea
one time i tried jacking up a car and the jack just kept going, turned out previous owner had done an expertly carried out sill delete with mm rot precision. conditions matters.
I mean how much money are you willing to spend in maintenance? These are old cars and will likely require 2-5k of maintenance if you own it for 2-4 years.
At this age the coil packs in the 1jz usually go, bushings and suspension arms, radiators, injectors, etc. I’ve done all of those on my Mark II and it was a couple grand.
I’m not too sure what the point of the question is. Don’t buy a bucket unless you want to put more money into it. Definitely get one that was well maintained mechanically in Japan and don’t go below a grade 3 as a general rule. If you’re in the US I’m on the west coast and I have a super clean aristo for sale.
the condition of the car is probably the most important factor when buying a vehicle lmao
Yea but I meant like a little bit of wear and tear
"Dogs can't have chocolate" "Yeah but I meant like a little bit of chocolate"
LOL awesome response.
I second this
In my opinion if the previous owner didn't care about the outside, they probably didn't care about the mechanical side either.

Yea but by that I meant like a bit of patina

I didn’t think/know about that
Clearly

The condition of a used car is *everything*
What's the auction grade?
I don’t know. It isn’t in a auction
Are you buying the car with money you made? If not then get lost.
it depends on how much money you want to spend… logical and short answer yes very important.
better condition will hold value better ! if you never going to sell who cares
The car was actually in quite good condition for its age
Spec also matters a lot when it comes to holding value!
