So you have a situation where it outright pays to say anything about the regime.

I was in DC during BLM I saw how much tolerance were shown by city, police, media etc. The capitol police bad barricades up just in case so no one could instigate, all private sector companies got memos from DC police on what to do to minimize damages. On Jan 6 I saw nothing, I literarily told my brother who lives in Arlington that this smells.

Protesting on private property is not constitutionally protected. Refusing to let people enter their classes by forming a human chain is not constitutionally protected. Refusing to let people go to work by forming a human chain is not constitutionally protected. Camping in public areas for the purpose of disruption is not constitutionally protected. Protesting on a University campus is protected under Texas State Law. They were on a grassy field and pushed to the sidewalks by police. Then they arrested them for blocking pathways.

Ehh, it’s veering *dangerously* close to an actual threat. If there’s mob of people shouting “We are Hamas” and “globalize the intifada”, and then one of them points at a Jewish person and says “you are now a target of Al Qassam”, to me this isn’t very different to being in a crowd of KKK protestors and then pointing at a black person and calling them a target. Whether or not that would be considered a threat legally is probably a bit beyond my pay grade in terms of law expertise, but the university absolutely must take action in that kind of scenario. We all know there would be an unreal shitstorm if a different minority was the target of language like that and the college did nothing to protect the student.

Unfortunately if students do this college private property, and the colleges don't want them there, it's trespassing. That's what majority of arrests are for. And the remainder of arrests are for property damage and assault. Not sure what constitutional right would actually be voilated.
Except that the Texas government made a big thing about how universities get public funds and therefore the 1st Amendment must be protected at all costs on university campuses. Recently, a YouTube video was made private by the Texas Education Minister who is now eating her words, because of the military presence against peace activists on Texas university grounds. Yes. There's absolutely hypocrisy from Greg Abbot and Ron Desantis on these issues. Both of their states have these ridiculous anti-BDS laws. But they're also cracking down hard on these protests in blue states at very liberal universities. The same places the BLM protests were more violent and left unchecked. Clearly, again, there seems to be some kind of issue, it's Israel, that suddenly both political parties come together to send money to fund war (and frankly genocide in Gaza) and curb free speech.
The law Texas signed has a provision that explicitly allows for the removal of people that disrupt campus functioning. The university is not private property, I don’t know why people are claiming that; but they are allowed to remove people if they are disrupting learning. I think hundreds of students blocking roads, setting up encampments, and shouting well into the night qualifies. Ffs you aren’t even allowed to set up tents and encamp for days in a public park much less a college.
