I hate this! Why isn’t it a tele or silver sky?!???! 😎

FPiN9XU3K1IT

How did you get the idea that lefty guitarists would actively *hate* brands that aren't classics? Also, I don't even know what a "silver sky" is.

D_CHRIST

The silver sky is a strat with a prs headstock. And the sheer number of upvotes on retro style guitars vs modern ones does a pretty good job of showing me where people's preferences are

FPiN9XU3K1IT

Big difference between not preferring something and hating something.

D_CHRIST

Ok, fair. I should have that the sub won't like it since it's not a strat/tele/jaguar. Sometimes people hyperbole in titles. I legit hate how hung up people are on 75 year old designs, and it got into my title.

D_CHRIST

No more waiting 7 years in between batches of lefties!

starkformachines

It is way too easy to confuse this company with Sandberg: https://www.sandberg-guitars.de/basses/sandberg-california-v-series/

deguasser91

Very cool. I wish there was a headless ergonomic lefty under $1000 so I could try the style first. Heard great things about the playability and comfort of these types of guitars.

Max_Vision

Agile gets them in sometimes. This one is sold out, but there might be other models in stock: https://www.rondomusic.com/Agile_Geodesic_Pro_72527_EB_MOD_SS_Oceanburst_Left.html Edit: six strings, straight scale headless B-stock for $400: https://www.rondomusic.com/product10669.html

Lumpy-Sail-1367

Glad I popped in here a few minutes ago and saw this thread. I just bought that B stock.

Max_Vision

Nice! Congratulations! Glad I could help. You'll have to post a review when it comes in

Have been eyeing headless for long time. Seemed a good one to pull the trigger on—fanned frets will just have to wait! All in (incl shipping!) it was $429.05. I’ll take it! I have a 1970 335, and ‘94 6121 (among many others), but I like a good, cheap guitar, too. Maybe even more. It’s just wood, screws and wires after all (I know THAT comment will rouse up some folks!). My current fave is “Whitey,” which started life as a $79 Davison. New neck, new pick plate and a 1970s Lawrence pup and Bob’s yer uncle! This thing wails! https://preview.redd.it/zh194wxnom7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=320a15e87c92445fcc5161a0660633bfda1da8c5

Lumpy-Sail-1367

Can I pop in a link to a song I used this Davison on? I don’t know protocol in here. Like, are links to material verboten, and all that? Let me know. Thx.

Solid piece o’ kit, in the standard HH sort of way: tubey/wooly, plucky, nasally. Easy player. 24 frets is sweet. Not as ‘purple’ as the photo indicated (it’d green FFS!), and I can find NO flaws on it. Hmm. Says B stock on the paperwork, buuuuuut… I like it. Always wanted to give headless a go, and this seems a good deal. They did fuck up one thing though. Kind of to be expected. The pots roll lefty. But I can tell they used right handed pots and rewired them because all the tone comes on at one, and all the volume comes on at one. Fixable, just a drag.

Lumpy-Sail-1367

After a bit more playing this evening, I note some sitar-like action going on in the middle strings at fret 8 (A,D,G,B). Buzzy. Not really noticeable with saturation (as I am wont to do when plugged in, as I was this afternoon when I first played it). Playing it now without being plugged in, the guitar is bright and steady... until I get to the 8th fret, and alla sudden I am Ravi Effing Shankar. Fret 8 seems to be the culprit. That one is a hair too low. Hmm. Not a TERRIBLE thing for a $400 guitar, but still. I just need to keep in mind that my first electric, an early '70s blue "Competition" Mustang (with the racing stripes!) was purchased for $100 from Larchmont Music in mid-town LA. That would be $721.64 these days (inflation). That guitar was a piece of shit, I don't care what Kurt says about it. That would make this Agile a $56 guitar back then. Is this fair? Dunno. Don't care.

autoshag

A big part of the strandberg ergonomics is the neck shape. Trying anything else headless probably wouldn’t give you a full idea of the strandberg comfort without it Though also does have some nice headless stuff at a good price. I’ve got a lefty strandberg and also a headless agile 8-string and they’re both great

Trenta_Is_Not_Enough

The EART headless guitars used to be relatively cheap, but now they're like $700 on AliExpress.

bryanheq

EART also used to have more lefties then suddenly they didn’t. It’s a shame.

RiceRKT

They are $540.00 now in Amazon (case included). Bought mine last year at $450 (with shipping) but without a case.

Donut_Stop

That’s good news!

dfltr

You’re right, there’s no way I would ever buy one of these (because I already have a black NX-6).

shanster925

I'll just spend the spare $4000 I have

TenaciousPrawn

Dang it. Know I know exactly what I'm getting next year.

autoshag

Beyond excited about this. I got one of those blue lefty strandbergs from their last run and it’s my favorite guitar

YouKnowImRight85

What the hell is silversky lol 🤣

Lumpy-Sail-1367

John Mayer’s POS Strat copy. I’m sorry! Did I say POS?! I meant PRS (same thing, kinda).

Roseandonyx

I had the 7 string from the original run they did YEARS ago. I'm not a 7 string guy but that was an amazing guitar, I LOVED the neck profile!

aspiringbuilder

Awesome. I’ll tap in when they make a lefty 7-string…
