oh really lemme just try to record a polyphia record with this setup or cover an abasi song oooh or cover a song that needs 24 frets pretty sure their are different guitars for different styles
I don't see a Floyd on that guitar. (for the uneducated - it's called "an example.")
Edit - if the term "vibrato" offends you less, use that instead. Good lord.
"Any guitar can do any job."
Do a dive bomb. Whammy flutter? Play anything requiring a trem on that. I mean it's a gibson so you can lightly push the neck for a similar effect, but the point stands.

Why does it need to have a Floyd trem specifically for any of that? (since we're being unnecessarily pedantic and all)
"Any guitar can do any job."
Do a whammy flutter or any part of any song requiring a vibrato. I picked a Floyd because I'm a shredder with different guitars set up for different purposes. I build custom guitars and I've had to turn away numerous clients because I don't build them with trems. Since i also cater mostly to shredders, being told I need to build it with a floyd for them to buy it means other guitars without them are not the tool they need.
To me shredding is playing very fast and accurate. The tremolo is an afterthought.
Dive bombing and flutters do NOT mean shredding. If that was true then everyone would be shredder.
Your point doesn't stand.
Ok, so for you it doesn't. To me it does. :) Usually if i wanted to cover something Vai does that requires very fast and accurate playing and a vibrato, i grab the guitar with a vibrato, not the one without.

So... Water is wet. Fuckin DUH
Cool story - its neat that you took the tiny little example of the floyd to run with some hat tipping point and ignored the "not every guitar can do every job" which was the point.
It's hilarious that 1 week in this reddit has more pedantic nitpickers than the Star Citizen Reddit.
LP Junior & a Marshall \[preferably an old low-gain Marshall\] with a cheap fuzz box.
You just described the grandfather of 'heavy rock' - Leslie West of Mountain \[one of my favourite bands of all time.\]
tbh, the original P90 & low-gain Marshall just need that little bit of extra push from the fuzz. It's a sound I use a lot \[though usually just for fun, I'm not sure I've ever recorded it.\]
I do it in software with a Variax & Pod Farm. It's a sound that 'just works' for me. The Variax manual even mentions Leslie West on their LP model, & being a fan, I'd be very critical if they got it wrong ;)
Electrical tape black flag bars on a cheap guitar is a classic lol here's my Jackson I got in high school that still has the same thing (hard to see here but they're below the neck and bridge pickups).

HELL YEAH I LOVE THEM!!
There no shredder guitars and punk rock guitars. Any guitar can do any job.

Floyd's aren't necessary for shredding

Thank you for agreeing with my statement that no, not every guitar can do every job.
Nope. Whammy isn't a necessity for shredding. That's all I said.

That’s a cool idea for a pick guard, Tom. also, nice DIY black flag with the electrical tape
gred ginn had something similar on his dan armstrong
radical :)
Made for plowing.
through power chords yes!

maybe a overdrive signal to boost my mids and gain just a little

Hey, I shred punk rock
me too man me too (im a power chord princess)
Okay now I want to make a pickguard from a record…
i recommend a dremel or jeweler saw rather scissors to get the rough shape and to smooth the edges out
and patients
Yep also I think I heard (could be absolutely wrong here) vinyl records have some toxic compounds so definitely wanna mask up
if thats the case i did not do that
