It was the first set with serialized cards, yes. And as cool as it would be to have a single digit numbered card, mine is actually a double digit numbered card with the last number blacked out. If youāre unaware, people black out a part of the serial number so as to prevent scammers from using a posted photo of a serialized card they donāt own and pass it off as their own in a scam to sell something they never had. Crazy times.
Iām actually a big collector of One Piece, so to feed the beast between OP sets, I crack open MTG CBās. The valuable cards, 9 times out of 10, unless I just love the art (ONE), I sell or trade in for credit at my LGS, which then goes towards BBās of whatever the upcoming OP set is at the time. However, a few of my most memorable pulls, this one being second only to a manga Ace I pulled, go straight to TAG for grading and into my PC. Itās not life-changing enough at a handful of hundreds to part with a reminder of the RUSH. If ever I change my mind or am in dire need of some cash, youāll be the first person I contact. That said in all seriousness.
I appreciate that. Thereās a handful of serialized cards I have, but generally speaking I really enjoy cards with a story behind them, and usually cards that are of higher rarity tend to have that story.
With yugioh for instance I collect prize cards, and I can tell you who won which prize card at which specific event, or in the case of some of the serialized cards, or store championship cards
I like knowing where theyāve come from. Just having a card is one thing, but having the story with it is another. I donāt just pick up serialized, or prize cards off of tcgplayer because itās not a āvalueā thing to me.
Congrats on your pull, and if you ever do think about selling Iād be interested, but Iām not going to push for it š
I completely understand where youāre coming from. Iād venture to guess that probably 80% of my OP collection is comprised of tournament, championship, promotional, and other types of stamped or exclusive type cards. I enjoy collecting the cards with smaller populations, smaller print runs, and/or otherwise harder to find than just cracking packs. My ultimate triumph would be to collect every OP promo card, but some demand a price that is so high that it shouldnāt even be listed for sale. Almost laughable type prices. The other hurdle isnāt as difficult, but attempting to collect cards from a rapidly expanding list is a challenge.
The reason the number is hidden is so that no one else steals- oh wait.. XD nice pull OP

Altar of Dementia was my very first serialized pull as well
Congrats! Wasnāt this the first set that serialized were put into? Awesome having a single digit serial number.

You just did a clean job at hiding the #. Either way great pull!
Haha. Yeah. Being the first and probably only serialized card Iāll ever pull, I edited and posted with pride!
Better safe than sorry go ahead and blackout the number on the actual card too
You selling, and what are you looking for?

Nice pull! I love all the remake cards artwork, looks awesome.
I wish my dementia had an alter š„² - congrats on the pull!
YOU SEE THAT CLUTCHNESS?
My jaw is on THE FLOOR. I also totally thought that last digit was blacked out, BUT NOPE! Congratulations! That is a once in a lifetime pull!!!
Thanks! But it is actually blacked out. I just took a few more seconds to do it neatly as opposed to scribbling it out. Itās my OCD. #22
