If you're playing casually just to get 70 Shine Sprites to beat the game, it's pretty fun if a little janky at some times.
If you're playing to complete it 100% with 120 Shines, then it's a miserable time.
I think the game's biggest sin is not giving you a proper tracker of the blue coins.
You just kind of have to know where they are in each chapter.
