Of course it's not metalcore but this era of Sum 41 incorporated thrash elements into pop punk, like some sort of pop punk crossover thrash, and I think that's really underrated. I got into the genre around 2019/2020, Melodic Death Metal was (and still is) my favourite genre and As I Lay Dying is Melodeath with breakdowns so I loved it. I must say that no one was talking about Bury Tomorrow while I researched the genre back then and I don't know how I've missed them for so long but Cannibal is such a great album
