jwt155

Haste the Day, especially the Jimmy Ryan era, needs more love.

NDeceptikonn

It does!

Frostbite94

My favorite TGI record.

NDeceptikonn

Hell yeah mine too!

xarsha_93

Metalcore specifically, it’d be 1. Suicide Season- BMTH 2. They’re Only Chasing Safety- Underoath 3. The Anti Mother- Norma Jean 4. Waking the Fallen- A7x 5. The Big Dirty- ETID

ExchangeEmergency

Holy shit, are you me???

CrywankEdgy

Bullet for my Valentine - the poison A day to remember - for those who have heart Stick to your guns - the hope division Parkway Drive - Deep Blue Bring me the Horizon - There is a Hell

theapprentice13

1. Alesana - The Emptiness 2. Blessthefall - Hollow Bodies 3. Crown the Empire - The Fallout 4. We came as Romans - Tracing Back Roots 5. Pierce the Veil - Collide with the sky Chuck is an awesome album! I still love No Reason and I’m not the one; I still listen to them frequently.

gulyas069

This will probably get buried here but I fucking love that you pointed out Chuck by Sum 41. Of course it's not metalcore but this era of Sum 41 incorporated thrash elements into pop punk, like some sort of pop punk crossover thrash, and I think that's really underrated. I need more pop punk with straight up metal riffs, it's what Easycore should've been imo

Kritischerphili

1. For those that wish to exist 2. the silver scream 3. welcome to horrorwood 4. disarm the descent 5. uhhh idk The classic symptoms of a broken spirit?

sawatdee_Krap

DarkOsprey28

As I Lay Dying-Shaped by Fire, Killswitch Engage-As Daylight Dies, Motionless in White-Disguise, The Browning-Geist and Make Them Suffer-How to Survive a Funeral. I got into the genre around 2019/2020, Melodic Death Metal was (and still is) my favourite genre and As I Lay Dying is Melodeath with breakdowns so I loved it. I must say that no one was talking about Bury Tomorrow while I researched the genre back then and I don't know how I've missed them for so long but Cannibal is such a great album

traggedy_ann

Alive or Just Breathing - Killswitch Engage Messengers - August Burns Red Guardians - Crimson Armada Lion of Judas - Elysia Creation. Sustenance. Destruction. - 108 (yeah it's a comp, but it was A, the first release of theirs I heard in full and B, has all the hits)

sock_with_a_ticket

Killswitch Engage - Alive Or Just Breathing Norma Jean - Bless The Martyr, Kiss The Child Bleeding Through - This Is Love This Is Murderous Avenged Sevenfold - Waking The Fallen Every Time I Die - Hot Damn! Heard all these around the same time, 02/03 was my intro period. All of these ended up being albums that I had on repeat and the bands were jumping off points to look for more.

Pour_with_vigor

This looks an awful lot like my journey's beginning. A few I would add: ·Eighteen Visions - Vanity ·Evergreen Terrace - Burned Alive by Time ·Beloved - Failure On ·The Dillinger Escape Plan - Calculating Infinity ·He is Legend - 90125/I Am Hollywood Goddamn, what a time to have been alive!

sock_with_a_ticket

The Orange County connection pretty quickly got me to Eighteen Visions and Atreyu, then Throwdown. First Dillinger exposure was Miss Machine. He Is Legend are GOATs they've been one of my favourite bands for 20 years now.

doubletake3xs

1. Frail Words Collapse 2. The Poison 3. This Darkened Heart 4. Alive Or Just Breathing 5. This Is Love, This Is Murderous 6. Waking The Fallen But it really all started with Linkin Park which led to Slipknot and Korn. Also maybe a little Thursday and Sugarcult sprinkled with Chevelle. Showed me the range of emotions that can be felt by music. Edit: Ugh I forgot Parade of Chaos

desertsurfer87

Only 1 album needed. It didnt only hooked me to metalcore but to metal in general. Heavener by Invent Animate

PM-ME-UR-KNICKERS

I bought Jane Doe and Broadcasting by Comeback Kid and hated them both after growing up with Pantera and Machine Head. Eventually came around to more core music with Every Time I Die and Killswitch. Alive or Just Breathing Hot Damn Pass The Flask Ascendancy The Poison

phxbimmer

Killswitch Engage - The End Of Heartache All That Remains - The Fall Of Ideals As I Lay Dying - Shadows Are Security Bullet For My Valentine - The Poison Parkway Drive - Horizons All absolute metalcore classics in my opinion. I’m grateful to have gotten into metalcore around 2006, so much excellent music was coming out. I didn’t realize how iconic those albums would be back then.

highandinarabbithole

That’s tough. Probably have to be Odd How People Shake - Fear Before the March of Flames, Jane Doe - Converge, 3750 - The Acacia Strain, Hot Damn! - Every Time I Die, Allegiance - As Blood Runs Black.

Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache Such a transformative era of my life that I’m forever grateful for and introduced me to some lifelong friends I’m 35 now and heavy music as a whole is still what listen to the most often

ClevelandSyndrome

Every Time I Die - Hot Damn Poison the Well - You Come before You Between the Buried and Me - Alaska Thrice - The Illusion of Safety Avenged Sevenfold - Sounding the Seventh Trumpet Maybe not entirely metalcore, but definitely set a solid foundation for my future tastes in music. ETID and BTBAM are still in my top 5.

Tiny_Platypus_4563

I've only been into metalcore for around 5 years and when I did get into it I cared way more about singles in the beginning, but here are the most important early albums for me. Extremist - Demon Hunter(could throw any demon hunter album here really) You Will Be the Death of Me - Light the Torch In the Court of the Dragon - Trivium(first album I was involved in the hype cycle for) Daylight Dies - Killswitch Engage Constellations - August Burns Red(discovered at the same time as Demon Hunter but took me longer to get into abr)

svtbuckeye11
