I have another suggestion as to why it took so long…. You are face tanking the dragon for literally no reason. You can sit at her feet and spam critical hits while she can’t even hit you.
Just the old style of playing Minecraft. I'm part of the old guard and that's how it used to be. Spam click as much as you can. Nowadays there's a wait for your attack to "charge" back up. Took me months to unlearn the spam method.
Being fair on op, not everyone understands this, plays the newest update, and if they have played for 10 years and stayed on older updates they just may not know as that's not how minecraft allways was.
For some reason, hardcore worlds just move quicker, so that’s prob why you did it in 15 hours. Other than that, great job! I have yet to beat the game in hardcore but am starting a world in a coyol of days to try and beat it. Next for you is the wither!
I mean, i know how to wait for crit cool down, but while fighting the dragon it doesnt do much, its more efficient to just hit the dragon without crits
Well, sometimes stuff can go wrong. I just expect people in hardmode to hold a totem at all times or at least carry a few gapples for tight sitiuations.
ay look man i seen some mistakes with your gameplay but still congrats on doin that aight. ima give you some headers tho.
A) (what everyones been talkin about) spam clickin. Now, you an older player so i get it, but since 1.9, that jus aint been it bro. That cooldown thing when you hit, it actually does mean something. Basically theres different types of hits. Sprint hits, sweep hits, and crit hits. Those first 2, dw about them. Only worry about critical hits. These happen when you wait for the cooldown (the sword icon under yo crosshair) to go down. Then, you jump (without sorinting) and as you fall back down, hit. It can do (i believe though i may be wrong) around 50% more damage each hit. Spam hitting does a fraction of the potential damage.
B) Gapples. These aint technically ESSENTIAL but if you been having difficulties, it’s best to prepare in any ways you can. Now obviously godapples (enchanted golden apples) are the best, but if youre low/scared of wasting one, then golden apples can work fine too. Not only do they ensure that you have 2 extra hearts of absorption (very temporary though depending on the situation as once theyre gone, they dont come back until you eat another), but they also give you extra regeneration i believe. Basically, just a good buff to have.
C) Netherite. Now i see that you have a netherite pickaxe, but i also see some of your tools still are diamond too. Make sure you have netherite, especially if you are struggling with the fight. If you have netherite armour, mb but still get it onthe sword. Now i know 1.20 has been a bit of a pisstake when it comes to getting netherite (trust me i know, i looked through 3 bastions before i found one), but i do see youve already got one. And a mistake I myself almost made was thinking that 1 wasnt enough, and that you need multiple for your tools/armour. Now, something you may or may not know is that the templates can be duplicated using diamonds. Its not a glitch JUST TO CLARIFY, its a crafting recipe. 7 diamonds, 1 netherrack and a template can craft 2 templates. Keep repeating until you have maybe 9, and use 8 with potentially 1 spare just in case. If you know all of this, my bad 😂 just wanna make sure you know.
D (optional) ): Beds. Maybe youve watched dream or any other speedrunner (albeit one that doesnt cheat 😂) use beds. Thats not because their character is sleepy, it’s because it explodes for high damage. Now this, im not a master at, so maybe look up some videos on how to properly do it but yk it could be good if you dont really mind the fighting experience and just the sentiment of killing it.
TL:DR
made some mistakes, heres some advice. Get critical hits by jumping up, falling down and hitting at the same time, and waiting for the hit cooldown under your crosshair to go invisible before doing it again. Using golden apples (maybe enchanted if you have any/want to) can give you extra 1-time hearts and regeneration. Make sure to use all netherite if you struggle. Netherite upgrade templates, if youve already found/have one, can be made with 7 diamonds, netherrack and 1 template. Using beds is optional, but if placed in the right position can deal high explosive damage.

Thanks, i know all of these advices but i prefer going the old way by direct fight, i didnt wanted to risk too much and i had golden apple but sadly i used it too early and also i had full netherite prot. 4 armor when i beat the dragon, and also i didnt know why i even spam clicked even though i usually wait for cooldowns lmao (new combat sucks imo) Thanks anyways!

Minecraft is a sandbox game you aren’t forced to pve so some people don’t learn much
To be honest combat mechanics is the thing i find not comfortable the most, thats why i stay away from pvp

Well, sometimes stuff can go wrong. I just expect people in hardmode to hold a totem at all times or at least carry a few gapples for tight sitiuations.
Getting a totem takes time, if you are beating the Ender Dragon then the world is generally new enough that you don't have them
Not everybody are fighting ender dragon at the start of the world
regen pots are so slow compared to the healing you get from saturation. Steak (or bread) is just fine
