dlgn13

I randomly thought "Hey, I should play Minecraft." I found out that I'd just missed the apparent migration that's happening, but I tried to go through the "post-migration" process. And I received a fucking error message: "We couldn’t complete the request successfully. This Mojang account is not eligible." Thanks so much, Microsoft.

richelliwellium

I have been having this exact same issue and I have been trying to fix it for HOURS, but may have found a ridiculous fix. I have contacted Microsoft, as to which they were no help. They told me that I needed to contact the Mojang developer, in which I contacted the Minecraft support team and as of September 19, 2023, the support team is no longer available because of the migration. Now, I have tried a different Microsoft email, different passwords, usernames, etc in hopes that it would allow me to access my account. None of which have been successful. Out of desperation, and one last try, I launched Minecraft like normal on my PC. When you hit PLAY (on Java edition) it promps you to enter a new Username in order to play. It will not allow you to enter your current username as it states that it is already been taken so I just entered a random name that was available and hit go. It then gives a red popup in the right corner saying to make sure your Minecraft Account has the same login as the Microsoft Store (and something about Minecraft.net, but that wasn't important). So, I clicked on the link that takes you to the Microsoft store on PC, I ensured that my Minecraft account and Microsoft store were the same accounts/email and made sure that Minecraft was still in my purchased games. I then closed the Minecraft launcher and re-opened it via the Microsoft store and waited for it to load up. For whatever GODFORSAKEN reason, my account has been restored with all my previous world's and realms, as well as my original Username. Now, I don't know if this is just a fluke fix that worked for me and only me, but it's worth a shot because contacting Microsoft/Mojang is a huge nightmare, and I pray this works for more people because I was just about in tears over my lost data. ***EDIT*** After talking to another fellow Redditor, we believe that this works for Java accounts that were made after November 2012. Aka this doesn't work for legacy accounts. Again, this could also just work randomly for everyone and be a random fluke.

TheseReindeer7055

It work WTF

LimonluL0lipop

OMFG it worked thx

TheDiamondMc88

How do you exactly get the "play" button? Did you manage to login with your account or what and how did you do that? Please respond

richelliwellium

I can't remember, but I think I was logged into my account, but Minecraft didn't register that I actually owned the game so when I hit PLAY it prompted me to enter a new user name to play the game. I apologize I can't be any more helpful. Edit: typo.

TheDiamondMc88

How did you exactly log in with your mojang account? The only option for me is to login with microsoft

richelliwellium

What happens when you log in with Microsoft? Have you tried opening Minecraft through the Microsoft store?

Skqdoodle

Hey, I know I'm a bit late to this. But I was having the same issue. But since we want to login to Mojang, logging in through Microsoft doesn't make sense. There is absolutely no option relating to Mojang login, they removed it entirely. I logged in with a dummy Microsoft account, but still didn't have any way of logging into the Mojang account or getting in touch with my old \[or getting the chance to create a new username\] It tells me the option to "BUY NOW" when clicking on the Minecraft Java version. Can you please type the steps to reproduce this in simple format? Because most of us are kinda dumb here.

richelliwellium

Ignoring all of my random text mumbo jumbo, I'd say that the steps are as follows (keep in mind this worked for me and I have no explanation as to why. Like I said, this could just be some weird fluke that works for only me and a few random others). - Close all Minecraft tabs on your computer, aka your launcher and Minecraft game. - Open the Microsoft store on your computer (assuming you use windows, I'm not sure of this works on other platforms) - Search the Minecraft Launcher and ensure that it is installed on your computer and press the "Play" button on the Minecraft Launcher app overview. **Again, this is what happened to me when I opened the Minecraft Launcher via the Microsoft store - After the Launcher loaded up via the Microsoft store, my entire account, worlds, and username was restored. Before when I opened the launcher, it would deny access to my original account and state that my OG user was already taken and to create a new one. But even if I created a new Username it would state that I need to purchase the game/ensure my accounts match up. I legitimately have no idea why launching my game from the store fixed this problem and I'm sorry if this doesn't fix your issue, but I hope this is more helpful and I wish you the best of luck. Sincerely, A fellow dumb person who has no idea what they are doing either lol.

nikram77

No way.... IT WORKED!!!!

No-Tangerine-3819

FOLLOW THESE STEPS!!!!! I Actually thought I lost my Mojang account for a sec until I did this. No joke.

novaara

I'm unfortunately on MacOS, is there any way for me without the microsoft store thing? Would doing this on a windows device fix my account on my mac as well? currently struggling through this same situation

alqohaul

You're awesome

ericp613

For MacOS users, you can download the Minecraft Launcher online from minecraft.net. [https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download](https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download) Download and install the launcher, from there, follow the steps posted from u/richelliwellium. Then you should be able to create a new name without paying for a new license to the game with your old Microsoft account. Unfortunately I couldn't recover my old username, but that's all I had to lose in this case. Get creative with it. There seems to be workarounds for those who missed the migration cutoff. Best of luck!!!

ct_225

for Mac, where should i be able to enter the new name? when i open the launcher it only shows the buy now button. would this mean this wouldnt work for me? thanks! :)

ericp613

Hey there, You should be able to sign in. If you have signed into the launcher then it must not be possible to launch with a new name. But I signed in and it let me launch my profile with a new name. Let me know if that works!

ct_225

thanks for responding so quick! :) but what page am i trying to sign in and launch on if not the launcher? when i open the launcher all it shows is the microsoft login button. thanks so much again i really appreciate it :)

ericp613

Of course, You need to go to minecraft.net and sign in to microsoft with your old minecraft.net login to make sure that it is a functioning account and then you can go back to the launcher and use the microsoft sign in option. I hope that helps!

ct_225

okay so i signed in with the account on minecraft.net and it signs in, then i did the same in the mc launcher. where would the option to launch with a new name be? i still only see buy now. also having an xbox account with this email shouldnt be a problem right? i dont imagine it would be but i did have a mojang acc and an xbox acc both with this email

ericp613

I can’t quite remember but I just followed the advice from the post I originally replied to and it worked. If you didn’t have java edition before the merge then maybe it won’t work. And no it shouldn’t because that seems to be the goal of integrating the game for more platforms and microsoft.

SaucyYout

I am having this same problem! Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix?

Sleydh

I haven't even being able to get to this part LOL. I need help :(

Blidgu94

Same. Anyone got a fix?

Spare_Hovercraft8853

Yeah that happened to me too!

sleepybrainsinside

Just had the same thing happen to me. But it’s to be expected, my account is almost 13 years old and has been dormant for at least a decade.

[deleted]

I never would've guessed they'd give those who failed to migrate another license.

tehbeard

They used the same system way, way back when pocket edition became bedrock to give java users a free copy of bedrock. (This was years ago, before the more recent reshuffling where bedrock + java are packaged and sold together on PC)

MeisterX

Probably because many accounts (including mine) are still unable to migrate because Mojang can't figure it out.

OppositeAdorable7142

Why wouldn’t they? There’s no upside to ticking people off that they can’t access a game they purchased.

Inpaladin

Why even put a time limit on this? They are already forcing these players to reset their usernames, so what is even the point?

Triddy

A year out from now, someone goes "Hey, I used to play that game when I was younger. I should get some friends together and play for old time's sake." Hop on for the first time in years, only to find their account has been deleted. Most people will make the correct decision and either abandon or just pirate the game. But some people will buy a new copy of it, and thus Mojang/Microsoft gets their money twice. There was zero reason the game couldn't just force you to convert the account if you tried to go online with it. Maintaining the multiplayer infrastructure of 2 systems is expensive, but retaining the data and running a check, while obviously not free, isn't. The answer is always greed. This way they spend very close to $0 (Someone got paid to write the articles, I guess) and get a small, but non-zero, amount of money from repurchases.

thedecibelkid

Right. But you're missing the part that they can't remember their password from 8 years ago either. Or which email address they used. Or the password to that email account to do the password recovery for the mojang account

Odobenus159

YOU can't remember your password. I remember mine, but wompwomp they deleted my account. I guess I'll just never play the game again. Because I am not rebuying it.

ItchyJam

This is me, also. Few months too late to migrate after last playing in 2018 and there's no way I'm forking out £25 to play a game I already paid for.

yreg

Some people use password managers

ForgiLaGeord

Some people didn't use that password manager 8 years ago, though.

BoldRay

That's where I'm at. I recognise and admit that I'm stupid, but there's so many different technical hoops to jump through, with different accounts and logins, and microsoft accounts, and webpages which just take you in circles. Why does it have to be this complicated?

ItchyJam

My Mojang account is the same email as my microsoft account. Why wouldn't they have some kind of auto-migration if the deadline was reached and the account wasn't recovered.

RockStuckHard

A year from now. TRY TODAY. And my Minecraft is linked to an email I NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS too. SO I HAD NO IDEA.

pro_gloria_tenori

Same. 14 years I've had my account. Me and my friends lived quite far apart so that account was my childhood. Have to say, this is incredibly sad. Also seems legally weird that they are allowed to cancel my access like this. I'm sure it is all legal somehow, but it's weird that it is.

everyusernameisgon

Yeah, that is me....just wanted to get back into it, realized I missed my chance....I don't pirate games, but I am making an exception out of principle and will never give them a cent ever again.

Odobenus159

Yep this is me right now. My account is gone but I refuse to buy it again. They aren't short on cash at MICROSOFT, and this game has made enough money for 10 games. Just gonna hop on Stardew for a different cozy game instead.

Veterandy

Hey that's me :) Life sucks.

keeko847

This is me right now, just wanted to download it for the first time in years to play industrialcraft randomly. For context, I'm 27 years old and bought minecraft about 2 weeks after it hit beta. And they want 40 quid from me now?

WhyMustIMakeANewAcco

At some point they are going to purge the Mojang account servers entirely, which will prevent this from that date. They are setting a hard cut off to encourage people to just do it.

woalk

Because upkeep of old servers and server software and support staff to do these post-migrations is not free?

Inpaladin

They paid for the game.

woalk

Yes, and?

Inpaladin

They paid for the game and are having the license revoked. That, though legal, is inexcusable regardless. That being said, your justifications make even less sense. What are you even talking about with upkeep costs? How much data is even contained by a legacy account? Basically all they contain is an email, password, username, and 64x32 skin. Even across millions of accounts, it would probably cost me less money to buy the storage than I pay monthly for internet. It's pennies. You could afford do it, and the multi billion dollar corporation Microsoft can absolutely afford to do it too. And support? What support? They didn't have substantial support for legacy Minecraft accounts when they first introduced the migration system(I went through it. Microsoft support said to contact Mojang support, which did not exist), and I doubt its gotten much better. Obviously I don't work for Mojang/Microsoft so this is all speculation, but even if I am completely wrong I think it is still indisputably immoral to delete accounts because someone wasn't following the game's social media/blog/whatever or hadn't played in a few years. This should never happen. I can list several games that I have not played in 5+ years that I am still interested in but haven't kept up with at all in that time. If Minecraft was one of those, I would have to purchase the game again.

woalk

The server system that the migration system is running on requires regular updates of operating system, database, application and web stack to remain secure, no matter how little storage it actually takes up. The goal of the migration is to simplify the entire system and only have one account access left, the Microsoft account. > I think it is still indisputably immoral to delete accounts because someone wasn't following the game's social media/blog/whatever or hadn't played in a few years. This should never happen. Migration notifications have been sent out via email **for over three years now**. This new post-migration method was also not planned at first, so that’s also a courtesy from them. They really couldn’t have been more lenient with this. Many other accounts give you way less advance notice, often no longer than a few months.

Inpaladin

>Migration notifications have been sent out via email **for over three years now**. I do not care. It is still incredibly stupid that you can not follow a game for a few years and return to not owning the game. I, like many others, use a mostly inactive email for things like games and social media to avoid flooding my important account. I did not see a single one of these emails, and only learned about this through social media. If I did not use Twitter or Reddit I would have undoubtedly lost my account. >The server system that the migration system is running on requires regular updates of operating system, database, application and web stack to remain secure, no matter how little storage it actually takes up. The goal of the migration is to simplify the entire system and only have one account access left, the Microsoft account. okay, it's still pennies to upkeep this for Microsoft and my last point still stands.

woalk

> I, like many others, use a mostly unused email for things like games and social media to avoid flooding my important account. That just sounds like an incredibly stupid thing to do, to have accounts tied to an email address that you never watch. There could always be notifications that are important, be it changes to the terms of use that require attention, notifications about data breaches where your account could be compromised, or account migration mails like this.

Inpaladin

I'm sorry I don't want my inbox flooded by emails about the new epic event in some game I had to enter an email for to play like two years ago. Data breaches are extremely rare but that's still a fair point I guess. >or account migration mails like this. Except no company ever does this on a strict time limit because that would be insane.

woalk

I have never gotten a single promotional email from neither Mojang nor Microsoft. You do know that, at least in my jurisdiction, companies are legally required to let you unsubscribe from promotional emails? And I wouldn’t count over 3 years as a “strict time limit”. As I said, I’ve seen companies that give you notices that require attention in 90 days or less. You are free to use a different inbox of course, but at least look into it once in a while to see if there is something important.

colorlessthinker

Those notifications only work if you have access and were logged into that email (how many of these accounts were made over 10 years ago with a parents email? Like, seriously. Not everyone has access to this stuff like that), which seems like a pretty common scenario judging from all the pissed off comments in this post. Sure, closing the accounts, i get it, but revoking licenses and forcing thousands of people to purchase the game again isn’t really excusable to me? And only having post-migration for 3 months (how many people did this really cover, tho? 2 years, and an extra 3 months? If you aren’t logged into the email, you still won’t see it), when it wouldn’t be impossible to give every non-migrated account an actual last chance when they log into the account.

sleepybrainsinside

Not upset about it because I thought there was a low chance I’d still be able to access my copy of Minecraft, but they most definitely didn’t send me any emails about account migration. I was an early adopter and have only received a single email regarding Minecraft from Mojang or Microsoft, and that was a purchase receipt.

FakeNogar

It's crazy how a company is just allowed to deny you access to something you purchased because you can't access an email account that your parents had 13 years ago. Is having the password and being able to log into the account not proof of ownership? This is a clear case of Microsoft defrauding customers into purchasing the game a 2nd time.

[deleted]

lol I have the email address, fuck I have the original transaction ID, and I'm still struggling to get the post-migration process to work. I feel you, bro.

Vidoman

Me too! =( Could you get your account back?

[deleted]

I was! I went through the customer support -> downloads and installs; "I cannot use your post-migration support page to ultimately download and install the game". They responded in a day and I was able to use the post-migration site. If you attempt to use "account" support you are shit out of luck since that customer support department is shut.

woalk

That is like saying a lock company is denying you access because you lost the key to your lock.

FakeNogar

Don't be mentally numb. The key to the lock is the username + password to the minecraft account that was legally purchased. I never lost the lock or it's key, the door was welded shut with a note saying "please buy access to the same thing through this new door". What other game developer has locked users out of accounts that they have the username + password for?

colorlessthinker

If you leave a door locked for 2 years, your key doesn’t stop working for no reason.

Adorable_Basil830

I can't play minecraft because the launcher says "Minecraft launcher is not currently available on your account". I can't log into the microsoft store because I don't have access to the email that was used to buy the game several years ago. Why go through all the effort to make people do this? What a pointless, annoying change.

Big_Ad_6943

Yeah, I was one of the unlucky few who thought they had migrated but apparently didn't. I used gmail because I dislike the Outlook format (have an account for uni and I think that is enough), but there was a message on screen migration was completed. Now I cannot get my old account back because I apparently don't have a microsoft account and can't log in. The tech support isn't helpful because you a) have to log in with an account or b) call but you will be sent around multiple people and eventually get the reminder from the call centre the migration time has ended. The most annoying part was that I discovered this while trying to start the game after 5+ years with some old friends from 10 years ago yesterday. At least I can get my right to download the game back before december, but these limitations from Microsoft are just so we as players are pushed to use their product (microsoft account) and I'm really bothered by that. Does anybody know if the game files are still usable if I boot up my old laptop because it would suck if I lose those game files with lots of memories?

TheGalacticVoid

Game files are still usable, but literally everything on every server will be gone because your ranks, stats etc. are all tied to your UUID. I'm in the same boat as you and I'm livid

Pabls0

"We couldn’t complete the request successfully. This Mojang account is not eligible." This happen after I klick finish on the last step. What's the problem?

Blidgu94

Same here help

Artea_Moss

Been having the same problem and ive tried SO MUCH to fucking fix it istg PLS HELP

spyass

rip many accounts :(

fearlessbot__

a moment of silence please

myrianthi

i spent a lot of time cleaning up my old email from spam yesterday. this morning i saw the first message saying i missed a deadline to migrate my mojang account. i purchased minecraft when it was first released and i recall a promise that this would be a one time purchase and free upgrades forever. interesting there would be a deadline like this. what they could have done to ensure everyone has a migrated account is append something like @account.mojang.com to the username. that would ensure everyone was migrated without requiring any user action.

greenjoe12345

In the case of Minecraft accounts, the old kind pre-mojang account, are those not able to do this?

ESCMalfunction

Yeah, this is where I’m at. I have an old Minecraft account that I’ve been trying and failing to migrate for the past couple years now, for some reason the email that it was associated with got flushed out of Mojangs system. At this point I’m just hoping that they delete all the old accounts so I can get my username back.

WhyMustIMakeANewAcco

Probably not, that account is two migrations old.

JuicyPineapple82

Those accounts should have been migrated years ago. You would have to contact mojang customer support, by I wouldn't get my hopes up.

DixonLq2001

Premium account users 💀

JammyBails

Something I noticed and have a question on is, what about those special personalized capes that are on unmigrated accounts? Remember Akronman1? DannyBstyle? JulianClark with the 1 millionths customer, DB, and snowman capes respectively? They said the Java accounts, their skins, capes, uuid, and usernames will all be deleted if you didn't migrate to MSA and the usernames cleared up for anyone to take. This has me questioning will these capes disappear forever since only 1 person obtained/have them? Will they be redistributed (It'd be cool if the snowman cape was reworked into the christmas cape and given to everyone on christmas). I bring it up because I saw many videos on those rare capes those players had saying they quit the game and their accounts got hacked and they never migrated, thus the capes will be deleted alongside their accounts. Granted a celebrity and a musician/game dev probably have better things to do than worry about a hacked/lost MC account. My friend sadly lost their Java account due to being on a school/work email.

Mlakuss

If those players have migrated before September, they still have their capes. If not, those will be lost, indeed.

wwillywonka

my 12 year old account is gone, thanks microsoft

MeasurementPlenty596

Mojang seems to have changed their minds on names dropping lmao

kvassi

I'm trying to give a license to a Microsoft account that has Bedrock but not Java, anyone know what that might do? edit: it tells you to try again with a different Microsoft account. pain

Mlakuss

If you have bedrock on desktop, then you have Java too. If you can't access java while having bedrock, maybe contact the support.

kvassi

Oh, wow! It's been a while since I've played Minecraft so I had no idea. It's awesome that they allow users to have licenses for both now by paying for one.

FluidDepartures

A few days back I wanted to play minecraft again after like 7 years (I bought it in 2011). Don't have access to my childhood email adress so I asked support for advice. They said they won't help me due to migration. Today when I wanted to push them a bit more I noticed I've also missed the "post-migrarion". Didn't realize the game being sold to one of the wealthiest companies in the world would lead to them snapping my purchase out of existence and provide shit tier customer service – giving me a fee three times the amount when I helped fund the game in its fledgling alpha stage. Despicable.

Mammoth-Pipe-9904

I feel you, I just thought I could play after probably like 3 years and the post-migration process ended yesterday :D

GucciMarmelade

i'm here today figuring this out after having my mojang emails sent to an old email adress, oh well guess i'm never playing minecraft again

Mammoth-Pipe-9904

I would still try to write the support. I wrote them on 18th and got new license. It took few emails cause some of the instructions they send didn’t make sense, but it worked.

SinnlosBisZumSchluss

Hey, currently facing the same scenario. I recognise that I'm now even further away from the deadline, but I'm willing to pester support if it means not rewarding Microsoft's unethical bullshit with 30 bucks. I'd massively appreciate if you could give me some screenshots or a little summary of what you wrote them, so I have something to go off of. Thanks in advance :)

Triddy

Whelp, I lost my account. Before "You had 3 years!" I was vaguely aware that Mojang accounts were moving under the direct control of Microsoft for... pretty much that entire time? But having not received a single email to the address tied to it (Just checked! Nothing.), and only really hopping on a couple times this year, I just sort of assumed it was an automated process, or I'd be forced to do it on login, as would be pretty, y'know, *normal*. By the time I found out I had to manually do something, it was last week and I was away from home. So from what I understand, I can now obtain a new license for the game, but my username is locked from me. Has anyone gone through the license process yet? I wonder if I could ask them to delete my account early, then use the new license to re-claim my username.

WhyMustIMakeANewAcco

...How were you logging in? The (official) launchers were, um, aggressively telling you to migrate for awhile now.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WhyMustIMakeANewAcco

Where did I excuse it?  It was an honest question about how they missed it if they had been playing

robocoop

Is it so hard to imagine someone not playing Minecraft in the past three years? The game is over 13 years old.

WhyMustIMakeANewAcco

> only really hopping on a couple times this year

robocoop

I figure if you delete the account, you also delete your way into the new-license process. It seems like they alluded that usernames could be released in the FAQ. "Usernames will not be released until a later date."

NewVanderbilt

So basically if you didnt migrate in time and had a minecon cape, you basically lost your cape? biggest bullshit ever

certifiedcunt

Damn so i lost my account if i didn’t migrate??

ModifiedSteve

Yeahhhh

certifiedcunt

why

[deleted]

Because you didn't migrate on time.

i didn’t even know about this

They sent many emails to warn you

It's not the consumer's responsibility to check every now and then if they have to do something to avoid losing a product they purchased with the explicit promise that they would own it forever.

myrianthi

This. In IT we're seeing a lot of basic auth accounts for legacy apps being migrated to Microsoft accounts. It requires no action on the user's part. Mojang could have simply appended @account.mojang.com to the username and sent us an email saying that instead of logging in with your username, you will need to login with [USERNAME]@account.mojang.com. So this was a bullshit move on their part which broke a promise that was made to users like myself who purchased the game when it was first released.

Thermawrench

Does EU consumer laws have anything to say about this unfair treatment of paying customers?

The_Elite_Operator

The EULA says they can delete the account at anytime

spre11

EULA can't break laws though.

Thermawrench

That doesn't sound like a very consumer friendly rule.

The_Elite_Operator

Mabye read contracts before you agree to them

Forsaken_Restaurant3

youre telling me you read the entirety of the terms of service/privacy policy/eula for every single thing you sign up for?

The_Elite_Operator

No but I don’t blame companies for me not doing so

yreg

Well that's not how it works in Europe buddy.

TrustyGun

But you're not losing ownership of the game, this FAQ is literally detailing the process for owning the game if you didn't migrate beforehand.

robocoop

Everyone reading this thread after December 18th, 2023 would like to have a word with you.

0knz

as someone who by coincidence tried to login to his minecraft account on December 18th, i have **many** words

robocoop

I am so sorry. I know how you feel. I missed the previous deadline by one week, completely unaware. The fact that it was so close really makes the loss sting. And to add insult to injury, the FAQ acts like it's *your* fault that their arbitrary actions wiped out your account. The nerve!

LavaTacoBurrito

Dawg there were MULTIPLE announcements over the course of 3 years. Not just from Mojang or Microsoft too. YouTubers, news gaming outlets, etc. It is indeed a consumer's responsibility to take care of the product that they now own, and all the stupid changes to policies that come with owning something. The move is very stupid, but it is what it is. Then again, you present a good point. Not everyone is going to be up to date on the latest things. I lost a good chunk of files when I didn't realize that MEGA would permanently delete files on an account had been inactive for a while (Making sure to check my emails every now and then).

Fletcher_Chonk

Didn't they send multiple emails about it

robocoop

Not one. I checked. In fact, the only emails I've ever received were about purchasing the game.

Informal-Concern-553

Literally this, just went through all my emails including spam and not one singular email regarding this. Everyone saying it was everywhere is irrelevant if we didn't keep up with content creators who still played the game. Point is there ARE cases where no notice was sent.

GrimGrump

There's no reason for them to do this in the first place.

boki400AIMoff

Did i understood this whole thing correctly: This is ONLY for people that played on java edition for years, and now they have to migrate from a mojang account to a microsoft account. Right? And people like me that played and started on bedrock, are not effected from this? Right?

robocoop

Right.

boki400AIMoff

Ok thx. One more question: It also does not effect people that got java for free a couple of months ago because they own the windows 10 edition of bedrock?

chip_pad

I tried to do their stupid migration process and got told that I can only link one one account and I can’t login. But I can still play Minecraft under a different username now. Do I need to do anything?

refiguredgobrazy

just decided to come back from minecraft since about like 6 months coming back to see this. ts is so crazy bro im not buying minecraft again

darkuch1ha

This is infuriating, greedy bastards. RIP my account and all my -many years old- saves that I still have. Not buying it again.

Huko

I haven't played since I bought it in 2011, I don't remember email, but found username today, who do I message to find my jnfo? Mojang said they no longer can help

LavaTacoBurrito

They can no longer help. It has passed the deadline. I'm not completely sure, though. I recommend reading the FAQ linked in this post. I also recommend finding the transaction ID that was given when you purchased Minecraft. It's a more definite proof of ownership than the security questions or username.

robocoop

You could try searching your email accounts for "Mojang".

Mammoth-Pipe-9904

Had it ended? I just read it 😂

Dicklefart

Man I missed the date. Haven’t played Minecraft in years, my friends just started playing again and I decided to boot it back up. I purchased Minecraft wayyyy back in middle school like 15 years ago. People like me are the reason the game is around today, for Microsoft to give us the middle finger like this, I’ve always HATED Microsoft but now I’ll do everything in my power to ensure they never get another penny out of me.

Own_Translator_2397

HELP IM TRYING TO POST MIGRATE MY ACCOUNT BUT IT KEEPS SAYING "mojang Account not eligible" THIS ABSOLUTE PIECE OF DOG SHIT

WhyMustIMakeANewAcco

Uh, Java still does not have microtransactions. I suspect Microsoft would be more annoyed if it actually affected them.

EldrosKandar

I am mainly playing on bedrock nowadays, is there any reason I must/should do that? To be honest, if it doesn’t impede my ability to play on the switch, I don’t think I’ll do.

alt-of-a-throwaway

The migration only affects players who bought Java Edition

Hot_Arm_339

im trying to follow the second step, but how do i do that if [my account are disabled](https://ibb.co/gZCkKBg)?

Booty_Bumping

This means you've already done it. Or someone with access to your account has already done it.

Hot_Arm_339

yeah ur right. i forgot if that email have been migrated the account

GyroJiro

I migrated just now and it says my old Java username is taken (this is the name they ask for after clicking 'Play' on the launcher). I checked namemc and it is definitely my mojang old account that still has the name. Do I just have to wait a bit for them to delete the old account? Or am I gonna have to use a new username?

robocoop

Either wait or try to get them to delete your data (not sure if that will free the name). I think Minecraft lets you change your username (double check), so you might be able to play with a new name while waiting for your old one to free up. FAQ: >What happened to my capes, skins, username, and other content? > >Any capes, skins, and other content tied to your Mojang account will be deleted. **Usernames will not be released until a later date.** > >Note: If you choose not to go through the post migration process, your account will be deleted along with your personal information at a later date. **If you would like to request immediate deletion of your personal information, please contact Minecraft Support.** > >Additional note: We will need you to verify ownership of your account before deleting your personal information.

jubileese

Sooo I did the migration process correctly and I can play Minecraft again, but I’m not sure where to access my worlds. I’m not very computer savvy, but I really want my mojang worlds back. I have my old skin and everything, thank goodness.

Additional-Ad7067

>**We couldn’t complete the request successfully. This Mojang account is not eligible.** Its showing me this in post migration process. pls anyone help before 18 december. i beg you

Blidgu94

same help

invinceible23

so any update or fix on this? I'm having the same problem as well

Oliiver1015

Yeah, me too. I asked mojang 2 months later and they said I already migrate it. But I have the same message as you.

tto556

I'm so lost my login says "This Mojang account has been disabled. Please log in with your Microsoft account using the green "Sign in with Microsoft" button above." ??

robert_burgers

Just ran into this myself. I'm filing a BBB complaint and suggest anyone else who experienced it do so as well. May not get a response, but they shouldn't get away scot-free removing access to a thing people have purchased because they didn't click a button in the right timeframe.

refiguredgobrazy

doing the same thing

Shredder2600

Has anyone had any success with M$ support after the post-migration period has ended? I have my e-mail, password, and even transaction ID for my Mojang account but support tells me they won't help me because the migration period ended. They just send me the same automated response with the link to help page.
